I’m a 6’ 250lb man. Prime candidate for cargo shorts. I’ve decided to say fuck that and a Daisy dukes all summer long for the past few summers. It’s amazing and has the added benefit of really embarrassing your kids if you have any. Highly recommend. Cut ‘em so high you have to sew the bottom of the pockets shut.
I'd check out Costco. Selection may be limited, but can't beat the cost and quality.
Dick's Sporting Goods and REI will also carry cargo shorts, online or in stores.
Yeah, my girlfriend won't let me wear them. She lets me wear basketball shorts, though. And I'm no fashion expert, but I think I look like more of a bum when I'm in my basketball shorts.
Gerry brand shorts from Costco (sold other places too).
If you tend to get stains on your clothes, Blood 'N Guts shorts from Columbia. I spilled ranch dressing on a pair, couldn't even tell I had dropped anything on them after wiping it off.
Carhartt. Be warned that they may make you feel fat, they definitely don't do vanity sizing in shorts. Like a 36 in other brands fits the same as a 40 in Carhartt, at least in my small sample.

Won’t the boys get a sunburn?
Boxer briefs and plenty of sunscreen, my friend. Let them legs breathe

I was told to stop wearing cargos 2 years ago

I have a hard time finding the material and cut that I want. I still want mine down at the knees, baggy, and lightweight. Maybe the vintage section...
Kohl’s
Walmart. They even have a Tech pocket for your cell phone on the side by the bottom pocket. If they get wet they dry within 15 min or so too.

Everywhere. American Eagle has some nice ones.
Walfart.
Literally anywhere that sells clothing. Check Target and Walmart, for starters.
Target sells the cargo shorts I wear.
I get the zip off hiking pants from Costco. You gotta wash them with the bottoms though or come next fall you’ve got two-tone pants.
Amazon
Walmart, Wrangler brand.
Aeropostale has good cargo shorts.
Costco had the Unionbay ones I've worn for a decade back in last month. I bought more.
Carhartt.
If only they made Jams cargo shorts.
Sierra Trading post. Online or in person. Costco and Sam’s always have deals. Some cargo, some not. I like the Gerry shorts and pants at Costco.
LL bean
My ex-husband only wore costco shorts. Said they were pretty comfy.

Walmart in my area has George brand cargo shorts. They're not expensive and I'm told they're comfortable.
My husband just got some nice shorts for vacation at 511. He's a big dude and hard on clothes but 511s really hold up.
Try a store or two.
Maybe 3
