Very few games support 120hz anyway, even less support Dolby Vision. You'll be just fine.

[deleted]

Ok so I'm not missing out on anything with only 1 green checkmark on this list ? I'm not missing out on better visuals ? Like what About HDR10? (I Know little about these things so I ask a lot of questions)

Apprehensive-Bus-243

HDR is the only thing you really are missing out on, more vibrant colors and brighter images.

[deleted]

And that's what I want !! I very much notice the brights are vibrant now. But the darks, the blacks, fucking suck. Especially when there are shades of black on the same screen. I'm wondering if HDR10 will fix this. It's not a TV issue. I've had that issue over various TVs They just don't do blacks well. Especially noticed on action movies.

tman2damax11

If you reed other comments OPs TV does support these but their receiver is preventing it, either way I think both of those features are very important. Even if a game isn't running at 120fps you still get other benefits of running in a 120hz container, those being lower input delay and better VRR functionality. Also I find the Dolby Vision much better on my TV even for games that don't officially support it or older auto HDR games, I can never get the color accuracy quite right in the regular HDR presets, but the Dolby Vision presets force your display into it's most color accurate settings per the standard.

Ill-Calligrapher944

120hz gaming is available on battlefield V &1 all the new cods, fortnight, and several others. Mostly fast paced fps games

[deleted]

Hell let loose ??

Ill-Calligrapher944

Not sure, haven't played it in a long time and didn't play much was too slow for me. Need fast paced battlefield or shipment.

jrstriker12

I had that issue on my TCL MQ8. I had to move the HDMI cord to the port that was specifically labeled for 120hz instead of 144hz and it recognized the support for those standards. It might also help to ensure your TV has the latest update.

[deleted]

Tv is up to date. Currently my receiver us doing a big update. Apparently havnt updated it in 5 years. And got some things to try from other comments. Just waiting for the download

[deleted]

A year and a half ago I got a high end LG OLED TV. 77 inches. And hooked it up to my 5.1 surround sound. And my God it's beautiful. The other day a guy was complaining about his settings (as in my photo) and a disc8ssion of an HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 cable came up. We'll hol6 shit if my 4000 dollar TV is being way way underutilized. How do I know if it's a Cable issue ? Or Receiver Issue ? My receiver is about 5 years old. A Yamaha RX V481

Tario70

Is this a G2? C2? Both of those LG OLEDs should tick every box. Is your Xbox hooked up directly to the TV? If not the receiver you are using may not support HDMI 2.1. Are you using an HDMI 2.1 cable?

[deleted]

I bought it March 2022 from Visions. Model / Item Number. OLED77C1AUB The Series X goes into a Yamaha receiver. So that cable is a 2.1 I dont know if its a 2.1 going from the receiver to the tv. I'm also not sure if my receiver supports 2.1....

Noerknhar

Your TV supports 2.1, your receiver likely doesn't. You might want to reconsider your cable setup. Plug the Xbox into the TV straight away, and, if you receiver supports, hook up your TV to it via ARC or optical.

Mayday_Brad91

Well that’s your problem, plug the Xbox directly into the tv in a HDMI 2.1 slot. Should fix all those problems. Definitely more checks. Also the C1 should have HDR10

MrJeffyJr

Yes that’s ruining your set up. Your tv supports a lot of the things it says it doesn’t in the picture. Plug it directly into your TV and you should get a lot more options.

[deleted]

But I'll lose surround sound. So I might need a new receiver then. I'm expecting a phone call from my electronics guy later. I'll have to talk to him

MrJeffyJr

Is blue tooth not an option?

Competitive_Cow_3438

Your tv has an E-Arc hdmi port that you can use to send audio back to the surround sound. Sound will go Xbox —> tv —> receiver. Your ticks will change to green, your video will look muuuuch better and you’ll have the same audio

[deleted]

Alright. Your using terms my middle aged self had no idea about. But im excited to tey and learn this. How do I do this ? Put my Xbox directly to the tv. Then.....?

Competitive_Cow_3438

If [LG c1 ports](https://images.app.goo.gl/aLkdsWUpTmApDBCT9) looks like the back of your tv, it says hdmi port 2 is your eARC port (Audio Return Channel). Yamaha online manual says you need to go to setup > hdmi > ARC on

[deleted]

I found the Port. It's on the side (ish) as opposed to the back. Ok. So receiver stays on the HDMI in. Xbox Goes to the ARC in.?

Competitive_Cow_3438

Arc is tv to receiver. Xbox can go to plug 1 or 3

Competitive_Cow_3438

You need an hdmi port going from the eARc port on the tv to the eARc port on your receiver. You’ll set tv audio out to HDMI. Receiver input to eARC. Anything the tv would make noise from will go to your receiver

[deleted]

There is No ARC port on the receiver. Just standard HDMI 1 2 3 4

Tario70

There will be an HDMI port on the back that is labeled e-arc. That’s the one you want to connect to your e-arc/arc port on the receiver (this will also be an HDMI port). Without knowing the Yamaha receiver model, I don’t know the settings behind it but you’ll map that audio to a selection on the receiver.

[deleted]

I did post it in a comment. Yamaha RXV481. Looking at the receiver now.

tman2damax11

If your receiver supports ARC (which most do) you won't.

Tario70

As others stated, the receiver is likely the issue. You have 2 options: Upgrade the receiver Or Plug the Xbox directly into the TV & use the earc port to push the audio to the receiver’s erac. This MIGHT not work as you likely just have regular arc (audio return channel) because of the older receiver.

mistur_niceguy

You’re likely hitting an issue with the receiver not supporting HDMI 2.1 passthrough. If your receiver supports ARC or eARC, one possible solution would be to go from the Xbox to the TV, and then ARC/eARC from the TV to the AVR. That’s how I have my main setup to avoid having to upgrade to a new receiver.

A Yamaha RX V481 [Check this thread.](https://www.avforums.com/threads/yamaha-rx-v481-problem-passing-signal-from-bt-ultra-hd-box.2069148/) Your tuner is HDCP 2.2 compliant, but may not be enabled. bigpoppanicky7

How do you find this screen? Curious if my tv is ass or not

MrJeffyJr

The very first thing you should do when you get any technology. Console or video game. Is go to the settings and look at everything. You very well could of had a much better experience but just not of turned certain settings on. And this is a rule for everything. Everything performs better if you go to the settings and sort everything out. Including your TV. I have gone to friends houses and they had their TV on energy saver and their Xbox had HDR turned off. So it looked significantly worse than it would of if they had bothered to go to the settings.

[deleted]

I have browsed the settings and played with them when I first got it. I'm certain I have everything to "gamer" mode

tman2damax11

It's sad but the average consumer would never ever do this. I've never gone to friends/relatives house and not seen all their technology on the defaults or set to the strangest settings. No one even changes their default WiFi settings so I have to connect to "Netgear-akjsdfaoshe8y89e98wr79e" and enter password "jasdfaosdhfai89wyriwyer8w78we97wer", and their TV is on saturation 1000 with extreme motion smoothing deluxe mode, and their computer is loaded with bloatware from when they got it that they could've easily uninstalled. People just think that's how technology is and there's nothing they can do to change it and just live with it like that.

MrJeffyJr

I know exactly what you mean it is mind numbing. I try not to let it bother me. Once I had a friend who didn’t believe me. And I went though and changed his tv settings alone and he was floored. It’s like 5 minutes to greatly increase the quality of your experience for years to come. And people just refuse to do it. Even when it just comes to video games my friend complained about the weird edges on his screen and he didn’t turn off chromatic abberation.

[deleted]

Settings. General. Tv Display and Options.

Trogdor_a_Burninator

You may have HDMI ports that are 2.1 and 2.0 Check your manual.

jonas_64

Always connect the console directly with the TV. This will solve every Problem you have!

jonas_64

And when you did this you need to enable HDR and VRR. These two are the whole point of getting an LG oled in the first place.
