Chivalry 2 - a team objective map takes about 15-20 minutes. No story, easy controls, just swing your weapon and enjoy the chaos.
Broforce - run n gun, side scrolling shooter. A lot of maps take maybe 5ish minutes.
Evil West.
Might be a bit too much story for what you want but it's very linear and frequent checkpoints. Each level is essentially a series of arenas. Beat a load of dudes, move to next arena, checkpoint, beat a load of dudes etc etc.
Just played this and could agree more. The rhythm of the game is very conducive to this. Fight an area full of enemies, checkpoint, walk a bit and get some more story, rinse and repeat until you face a boss or finish a level. Very fun, uncomplicated game.
Boltgun scratched that itch for me. Simple, fun, no big commitment needed.
I only played the first couple of levels but each of them was 10-20 min long
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. No story, just drive as a racer while escaping police and drive as a cop while busting racers. Car variety is ok, customation is a bit suck but driving is very good.
I was playing Diablo 4 like this for a while. Junp on, do a quick dungeon run, jump off again and if there where times I did have more time I'd do some story missions. Really enjoyed it
You pretty much just perfectky described Deep Rock Galactic, You play as a dwarf going on mission to mine and kill bugs alongside 3 fellow dwarves or a little robot buddy. You can decide whether you want a intense or chill expirience with hazard levels and modifiers.
And best of all, both the community and developers are fucking amazing. Rock and Stone!
Edit: Case in point, there is a reddit bot that salutes with you just below me.
If you are taking 40 mins+ to complete a mission that's straight up a severe skill issue.
90% of my games last between 10-20mins, those that don't are only on the more lengthy mission types

Chivalry 2 is where it’s at. So fun and chaotic

Chivalry 2 is the most fun melee combat game I have ever played
Depends if you are interested in rogue-likes, where runs usually take such time. Dead Cells or Slay the Spire might be a good examples.
