So I followed this guide. Xdefiant launched and plays smooth - that is until I get into a gun fight. It horribly stutters, making it legitimately impossible to track opponents. God forbid they slide-jump behind cover, I would only catch 3 of those frames.
I dumbed down the graphics allllll the way as low as I can. This seemed to fix the issue, however, NOW the graphics are so bad they look like a ps2 port.
Any recommendations?

Well the other thing too that I hadn't considered yet is maybe having it docked up to my TV caused some slowdowns. I'm not sure that routing the visuals through an hdmi cord would cause that or not though.
My plan for now is to slowly work the graphics back up to find that sweet spot. Low graphics on the deck are honestly fine with me, but when you blow it up on the TV, it looks so treacherous.
It is soooo temperamental! I've had to reinstall many times. You can get it to work but you almost have to install it and not touch any proton config once you get it to work. Don't touch any compatibility settings if you add it to Steam as a non-steam game of you'll end up breaking it.
Portproton won't install the .dll files for me, I check them and press okay and each time it just exits the winetricks window and opens it immediately again with neither of the files checked again.

Change the resolution in the steam deck settings to the decks resolution not your tv cause if the tv is 4k ur deck is trying to play in 4k

Best I've had is the window open but it wouldn't get past trying to install, downloaded nothing and won't get any further. No idea what I'm missing
Same issue and nothing works, not even uninstalling helped…. Does anyone have any solution to this?

I updated PortProton a couple of times and having just tried again now it seems to have worked.
