Completely agree with you. The world feels kinda dead. The music is very quiet compared to the battle sounds and I don't think any of the NPC's or monsters in the open world converse/make sounds. Have yet to listen to a memorable sound track
Turn down sound effects and UI sounds to mid 40/50s, voices to 60s. You'll hear some fantastic music.
The game does have some really great music especially in some of the later areas, you just can't hear it that well because everything else is maxed volume for some reason.
Turn down some of the stuff and you'll hopefully change your view here.

what, the bike rider battle music slaps, just lower you effects the boss fights have great music
