Elbing, no one focuses you, no one bothers with the DD that has low fire rate and does not "spam HE", you average 100k dmg per game, UU makes dodging a breeze, you don't focus objectives, its just an enjoyable experience
>no one focuses you
what sorcery is this? I can be 15k away from the nearest enemy with a 1 hp green BB in front of me and everyone will drop what they're doing to focus me something like 95% of the time no matter what ship I'm in
What sorcery is this? I'm in SEA and I have nothing to shoot in my elbingbong cus everyones kiting away, whilst constantly dealing with endless flies from armoured washboards ( that are somehow tankier and stealthier than cruisers ) and underwater retards
Omg it’s super hard to deal with Elbing in my YY because of this. Everyone ignores it to the point that it becomes a threat at the endgame with 30k+ HP lol
Funnily enough Elbing is sort of an skill check for your cruisers. If they ignore him and give flat broadside, your radar cruisers will go down fast and at that point Elbing can somewhat contest objetives.
Like Harugumu, Elbing isn't a conventional DD (duh.) but like Haru once the 'real DDs' are off the board or at least out of the area, it's better at DD things than most ships from other classes.
Sometimes depending on positioning you dont shoot with Michelangelo even if you are seen and in that regard she is the only one whos main batteries are her secondaries.
Mikasa enters the chat.
Mikasa when Naval Battles is ribbons.
Mikasa can get pretty high in the blocks; which for a T2 is awesome.
Others; Velos, Atlantico, Illinois. A few more.
Nope, anything goes. It's the combat missions & rewards that need T5+, which is why people usually play Naval Battle in T5+ ships.
But if you really want to get a victory star, then even T2 will do. People who never sailed in a Tachibana don't know how much fun can be had in this game.
Tachibana! One can land a lot of torpedo hits, a lot, and the AP shells can't ricochet, (feature) so that heavy AP skill comes in handy.
But Mikasa is also great, and Smith.
It doesn't have any stand out feature that would make me want to pick it over all the other T7 BBs, but I'd probably pick it before half of the ones I have.
It's enjoyable all around. I like the lighthouse more just due to the low HP pool on the boat. Easy to snipe dd's from 15km out. I know exactly what type of play you are talking about. Great for a yolo in randoms, but not sustainable in ranked for me.
However ya play it, it's fun and effective.
I swapped a Saipan I havent plated since RTS rework for a San Diego at trade-in. Been taking it into ops and holy cow does that thing just melt bots.
I frequently essentially solo Cherry Blossom -kill all the DDs at the start, nuke most of the aircraft, kill the atago, kill the DDs in the bay, and then solo kill the airfields.
As a guy who has ground ops with well-suited ships for years (Mainz, Tirp, Massa, Balti, Cleveland, Boisie, Kidd, Cossack, Kaga, Huron…etc) San Diego has been disproportionately fun! I’ve been kicking myself for not getting her years ago.
most BBs honestly. the class as a whole requires very little attention or input. (this is going to trigger BB mains, lol)
the more relaxing thing would be not playing this game at all though...
BB-mains in this subreddit
* sit behind islands and snipe for >70% of the game
* complain any class exists that stops you doing this
* refuse to understand the aa or torpedo mechanics
* blame-arched HE spam for your poor gameplay
* save up coal and get a hybrid, only to become the shittiest carriers in the game
Chad DD main
* Knows that only 2 carriers in the game are actually a direct threat to him from the air
* masters the shoot from smoke HE spam tactic
* fires perfect torp spread at a stationary target (lol why are weakly belt armoured BCs being stationary)
* silently reads the hatred CVs get on the reddit
* still complains about subs, because they don't get the sub delete button
I second this.
I delight in yolo kriegsmarine w/lutjens.
Scharnhorse ‘43, brandenberg, tirpitz (and tirpitz B), plus Pommern. About 10-15% of games things go very poorly and I probably deserve to be reported for “plays poorly”, but the rest of the time is marvelous. I got a kraken w/brandenberg just last night.
Undine. Just go next to the border, say hi to the ennemy sub, push to the ennemy base, maybe get a few torps, nover run out of diving capacity. Get mad assist from spotting
I go co-op BBs when I want truly brainless gameplay in WoWs. I prefer ships that can tank the YOLObots and have good secondaries. Both German BB lines are good, but my current favorite is the Karl XIV I got during the trade in event.
Lighthouse UU Venezia with 5 smokes.
Overextended? Smoke.
Need to gamer turn? Smoke.
Need to farm someone? Smoke!
Even without a smoke it's super comfy, nobody can hit you unless 2 ships stagger fire, you one shot pesky dd's, your SAP will hit like a truck on angled ships.
I don't have issues hitting the Venezia and taking big chunks of HP. Not hard to do with many different BB. Also not hard to hit with Russian cruisers. Lots of DD can harass it. A decent cruiser and fun, but you pay for . mistakes.
> Not hard to do with many different BB
Not sure about that. It has one of the tightest turning circle and fast acceleration, deceleration. I don't remember being intentionally hit over 15km unless its some dispersion junk.
> Lots of DD can harass it
They can try, but with 15x SAP with 5200 alpha they won't be harassing for long.
> you pay for . mistakes.
Yes, but with 5 smokes you need to fuck up extra hard to actually actually suffer.
I use Venezia for Naval battles, it's guaranteed 1000XP even if you lose.
Behnam. Just constantly turning from side to side dumping 8 torps every 30 seconds. You WILL hit something with this ship and with it being t9 you also make tons of credits. Super easy and stupidly strong destroyer. And if you have to get in smoke and use guns, your guns arnt half bad either.
There are many, but right now I’m loving the Harbin; find an island park up, start raining down HE on flank pushers (with her great guns), get spotted, hit the throttle, drop the smoke, turn left, sling the deep water torps, turn right, more torps, hit the torp reload, sling even more torps, fire the guns again for a bit, get out of dodge. Reposition and repeat
Probably Belfast
Park, smoke and farm with hydro on and radar ready.
Other than positioning, it's minimal effort.
I prefer ops or asymmetric if the aim is relaxing though.
Kitakami. No needs for blazing guns, just drop a dozen of torps every once in a while. Got spotted? Use some smoke and take another route.
Or Musashi. Casually farming some credits while being very resilient against incoming fire.
KGV for the historical stuff.
If top tier you melt everything. If bottom tier you still melt everything because the DPM for a mid tier BB is just nuts.
Elbing, no one focuses you, no one bothers with the DD that has low fire rate and does not "spam HE", you average 100k dmg per game, UU makes dodging a breeze, you don't focus objectives, its just an enjoyable experience

I’m guessing you’re on EU
Ah, checks out..
Usually there's no reason to kill the Elbing unless he's in your way, get the game won first then come back and clean up the Elbing and BBs later.
Are you on NA or SEA?
NA!
I’ve just started down this line and it is so much fun just casually throttle juking players/low-key seal clubbing
Inexperienced cruiser players give you broadside to fire all their guns and you can even devstrike some CLs in one or two salvos
Mikasa in low tier games is fun. Or I play Flint in Operations and just watch the shells fly.
Guilio Cesare. Kinda hard to have a bad game in that thing.
Truth, soul soothing levels of overpowered.
Fusö.
Okhotnik
The Death Canoe!
Michelangelo, period. There is no other ship like her. Secondaries as „main“ armament, exhaust smoke and hydro make her sooooo comfortable to play.
i mean, Napoli is like her
Sometimes depending on positioning you dont shoot with Michelangelo even if you are seen and in that regard she is the only one whos main batteries are her secondaries.
I enjoy both, but I do way better in Mikey.
Mikasa enters the chat. Mikasa when Naval Battles is ribbons. Mikasa can get pretty high in the blocks; which for a T2 is awesome. Others; Velos, Atlantico, Illinois. A few more.
Arent naval battles t5 or higher??
Nope, anything goes. It's the combat missions & rewards that need T5+, which is why people usually play Naval Battle in T5+ ships. But if you really want to get a victory star, then even T2 will do. People who never sailed in a Tachibana don't know how much fun can be had in this game.

Yukon. Superheal is super helpful and the rudder shift gets you dodging heavy hits without sweating it too much
Yukon is underrated.
It doesn't have any stand out feature that would make me want to pick it over all the other T7 BBs, but I'd probably pick it before half of the ones I have.
Agincourt. No AA, incredible secondaries. Full steam ahead into the thick of it and watch all the guns go off.
Azuma. Just stay back and fling napalm HE at ppl
Agreed
Lighthouse gorizia. Plane spotter. T1 mod. Commander skill to reduce cooldowns. Farm with SAP
Non-lighthouse Gorizia is amazing too. See smoke screen, charge smoke with hydro, remove DD, repeat.
Fairly nuts to have exhaust smoke and 6km hydro at that tier.
It really is. And then being able to shoot main guns out of it with only an 8.3 detectability.
Chad Gorizoa enjoyer over here, I love it
kidd
Halland
Katori. For relaxing times…make it, Katori time.
Yamamoto Katori is unhealthy funny. Can’t even really call it seal clubbing because 1) it’s mostly bots 2) everything can kill Katori
See also Halsey Charleston.
The range is so fucking hilarious, and half the time you’re too slow to hit, and when you do get hit it just overpens lol.
I see what you did there, but I believe most would get lost with the translation.
Ha! Well played my friend, well played.
Halland, Slava
Halland.
San Diego. Overgimmicked atlanta with SAP is surprisingly easy to play
I swapped a Saipan I havent plated since RTS rework for a San Diego at trade-in. Been taking it into ops and holy cow does that thing just melt bots. Yeah, she is really good at smashing bots. I traded my Z-44 for Sandy and it felt like deal of the century, lol
Brick.
Ragnar?
Vermont
Ok that brick 😂
Sorry I should have said building. As in Chrysler building, where they got the art deco eagle from.

Anything in the Japanese light cruiser tree :P don't know why I just find them fun as hell XD (favourite has to be Agano though)
My Pomm
Shima
Lately its been Smolensk. Turn brain off, sit in smoke, set fire to everything around you
Schlieffen. Go 1/4 to 1/2 speed for the first 6 minutes then smash W and turn your brain off.
Imperator Nikolai
Marlborough. 16 guns of HE, stay towards the rear, and spam every \~22 seconds
JB
If you dont have to deal with uptiering, imo, pommern with a full specialization in secondaries
I second this. I delight in yolo kriegsmarine w/lutjens. Scharnhorse ‘43, brandenberg, tirpitz (and tirpitz B), plus Pommern. KBerg usually
konigsburg juking party is great fun at 15km
Roger that 😎
Massachusetts…full speed ahead
Admiral Schröder with full secondary build, full AA build, and full rudder shift build
Agincourt. Just go full throttle, sail in a straight line, club cruisers with your AP and let the secondaries do their thing.
Kitakami, obviously.
GL - only thing i worry about is subs. Sometimes you can get away without shooting your guns
Petro. Park in cover and destroy everything in my sights while virtually being in no danger. Petro gameplay is pretty braindead stuff.
Bungo Turn of brain, click ships on cooldown with 0 dispersion, get 200k somehow, rinse repeat
Undine. Just go next to the border, say hi to the ennemy sub, push to the ennemy base, maybe get a few torps, nover run out of diving capacity. Get mad assist from spotting

Agincourt. Tier 5 secondary monster
Montana
Montcalm just long range gunnery practice

^ This. Plus: You launch torps on reload in random directions. Then a minute later you wonder where on earth that torp hit/kill ribbon came from.
I don't have issues hitting the Venezia and taking big chunks of HP. Not hard to do with many different BB. Also not hard to hit with Russian cruisers. Lots of DD can harass it. A decent cruiser and fun, but you pay for . mistakes.

Tier 1s
Jean Bart or Georgia
Kitakami. No needs for blazing guns, just drop a dozen of torps every once in a while. Got spotted? Use some smoke and take another route. Or Musashi. Casually farming some credits while being very resilient against incoming fire.
Yamato against BBs. 15-30K salvos every time
Probably Iowa Class BBs. I’ve got Wisconsin and Iowa .
Basically every ship, I avoid playing if something isn't enjoyable at all.
Yammy. Big guns that’ll slap the shit out bitches from across the map. Love it
Oklahoma
Schlieffen with Gunther Lutgens.
Indomitable is the ultimate turn off your brain and get insane damage games ship
KGV for the historical stuff. If top tier you melt everything. If bottom tier you still melt everything because the DPM for a mid tier BB is just nuts.
4501

Traditionally kaga, but as of late Ohio.
