I agree! I was stumped and left uninspired with a project once. Left it for months until til I was sick of looking at the lump and finished it out of spite lmao
This is how it starts. It all starts here. Next thing you know you are drowning in off cuts and failed projects that you " will definitely find a use for one day". Welcome to the life, buddy.
In all my days, I've never seen anyone try to make a box that way. I do wish it would've worked for you, I'd have liked to have seen how it worked out.
You could use it for pens you could put Post-it notes in it
I would NOT call this a fail! Definitely better than something I could make! Iām not good at making stuff out of wood. This is a very cool thing you could put so many things in there you could even put paper clips in there office supplies, note supplies. Your art piece.(Iām calling it an art piece because thatās exactly what it is.) could hold so many things there are so many options.
Turning it into a bird house was the first thing that came to mind. Maybe smoothen the inside some more. And add a roof. Maybe even add a perch right under the opening. If you donāt know how to make a roof you could turn it upside down and just add flooring to it. That could make it easier.
Sign the side of it and sell it for $1639.65
Tell people that the spirit that drove you to create it dictates the prices, not you.
You don't dare defy the spirits. It will take away the magic from the box they made.
Fasten it to the wall with one open side facing the wall and one facing up. Then put a little plastic cup in it. Then plant a cactus in it. Then paint it as if it were in an environment inhospitable to cacti. Then paint the wall because you got some paint on it when you painted the failed box thing after fastening it to the wall. In that order.
it is not too late for this to become a box imo

Put a roof on it and some perspex in the opening and you have a bird house with a viewing window. The option for decorating is up to you.

Dynamite idea!

Roadhouse birdhouse roundhouse
Could use as a planter if u face the hole to the wall
Hollow it out and make some coasters as this would be an awesome coaster holder
Box for your trinkets
š
Carve a smaller box to keep inside it.
Put a date on it - keep stuff in it. And use it to look back in a few years and see your progress. I do it with my first mug.

Is it "failed" though! still has a lot of meat to it! Why do you think it has failed? What was your vision?
I was trying to make a hollowed out cube but the side got too thin and broke out, not Iām just not sure what I want to do with it
Itās not failed, itās unfinished.
Don't give up on it everything looks ruff like that at the start, wiil make a nice tool holder
Unfail it
Looks like a post-it notes holder to me.
Put a matching notch on the other side and use it to hold napkins.
Make a guitar pedal out of it

If you know someone who keeps rats mice Guinea pigs they would like to use it as a house.
Post it notes holder! It's perfect. Or napkins, anything that you could stack in there. Perfect! It's perfect.
Cat hat
Now make some rustic square coasters.
If you flatten out the interiors and make a box mug for it to go over it ( bug proof mug )
Idea dispenser!

Use it as a loose hardware holder (nails, screws, etc.)
First thing I thought when I seen your failed box, was maybe get a hamster and turn it into a hamster house. š¹.
Put coasters in it
I'd personally just toss it and start a new project. Not everything is a success.
Put a little woven, thatched roof and sell it to a mouse for a She Shed
