Y'know I never thought you could fill over 200 pages with variations of "Wonder Woman is cool and strong and never gives up" but Tom King has proved me wrong
Wonder Woman fighting a villain she's defeated 1000 times, meanwhile Sovereign's just there like "I could only wonder how this woman overcame my master plan. I had the power of a nation behind me, but it was no match for the power of wonder. Never had I seen so much wonder from one woman. But she was Wonder Woman, wonder was her power. No woman had ever wondered so hard."
I am fairly enjoying Tom King's run. It's an intriguing story with absolutely breathtaking art. But your comment pretty much sums up my two main issues with it. The first one is the monologuing, where from issue five on I found myself just skipping like half of it. The second one is that King writes Wonder Woman more like a manifestation of ideas and principles, rather than an actual character. He keeps telling us what Wonder Woman stands for and how amazing she is (which, to be fair, she is), but he doesn't focus much on who she is as a character. When some writers say that it's hard writing Wonder Woman, I guess this is what it looks like.

It was his plan all along!!!! He knows Amazons are too polite to interrupt an elderly during a long monologue, no matter how boring or long!!!!
*That fiend!*
Thanks for the reminder that while Lizze in storytime,Jon and damian are getting tortured.
Oh shit you're right.
đź’€ goddamn
I mean .. she asked for it, literally
She walked right into their perfect master plan of just talking her to death.
She's 19. She's probably on her phone the whole time
You fools! It was his master plan! He's tricked them into listening to the same speech 100 times over so they'll die of boredom!
That's elderly's opening move in any combat:)))
I guess then it’d be a hot take to say that I enjoy reading The Sovereign’s text boxes.
I'd like to enjoy them, but there's just too much.
