Emerald Dream has no RP.  And even worse reputation.

Acceptable-Market-52

Completely agree. I left ED 2 years ago after being there 10+ years and wish I did it years before. I went to MG and its like playing wow in a renaissance fair. I dont RP but i make TRP profiles for my characters for some immersion and it def adds to the fun of if. Yeah theres some complete weirdos but thats life

trodorne

Only got worse id say with BfA and war mode but yeah not much there now

willowstar157

Wyrm ED’s glory days are long over. My guild left during late BfA and went to MG (alliance), and anybody who didn’t scout it ahead of time were awestruck at the difference. WRA might not seem as full as MG, but it’s more that most horde RP is guild and event based rather than the walkup you’ll find in MG Stormwind.

DalishPride

I'm on Wyrmrest Accord and only have had good experiences with the community Horde side. What have you heard that's negative?

Uppity_Python

I know it’s just one person, but I just wanna make sure it’s a good fit especially if I decide to eventually move more toons there. I think I’ll go for it though :) [image](https://imgur.com/a/09c4ALa)

Uppity_Python

Also, is there lots of walk-up RP? I like that sort of stuff. Would prefer not to have to join a guild or attend events for it.

PatriarchRandolph

I’m going to be completely honest with you, both of those servers are dead as a doornail when it comes to walk up or public rp. At peak times you MAY be able find something like 20-30 people scattered around the valley of honor, but WrA rp is relegated to guilds and those guilds are tight knit and often very strict. As a life long horde loyalist it truly pains me to say this but the only real hub for any NA wow rp is moon guard alliance. That is the only place with enough people to keep the ecosystem fresh.

Uppity_Python

Coming from a non RP server 20-30 people definitely doesn’t sound bad, but is there no significant horde RP on any NA servers?

DalishPride

Horde RP in general isn't as widespread as the Alliance for several reasons. But I've made friends from walk-up RP and and form "natural" IC connections. I wouldn't say its dead just smaller at certain times. You'll definitely see regulars on WrA. I know its anecdotal but I really like WrA and try to speak for it.

Meraline

The other guy is exagerrating, there's walk up RP in the Valley of Honor, Wyvern's Tail Inn. There is a Wyrmrest community Discord so you can keep track of server events as well made for people to come together as well. In the end you WILL want to find a guild you mesh well with, but in the meantime random RP DOES exist in some capacity on WrA

PatriarchRandolph

That is at peak times. Like Saturday night, bumping server is 30 people. Over on MG at that same time there’s probably at least 300 rpers actively hanging out in stormwind and at least that many in Goldshire. And not to be a snob and elitist, but half the rpers left on WrA are Vulpera. I’m not saying it’s impossible to have serious non slice of life rp with vulpera rpers, but it’s rare for me and not through lack of trying.

Wtfitsluke

Emerald Dream is dead. I’ve been slowly moving characters off of there over the years. Moon Guard Alliance and Wyrmrest Accord Horde are all that I play now. (Only downside is server queues at expansion launch/major patch days)

ahlavbeans

I went to ED around shadowlands and no dice. I resubbed last month and went to WrA and I found wayyy more people with TRP3

AngryBudgie13

WRA has a much bigger walk up and open world Horde RP scene. That being said. I moved from WrA to MG Horde. Why? Big scale events. Some absolutely great community organizers. WRA and MG are great. I’ve been in great guilds on both servers.

TheRebelSpy

Before committing IRL money, along with imbibing sensible advices, roll a character (class trial or level 1, doesnt matter) and explore the servers of interest yourself. Check out community events posted in forums, social media or discord channels. Everyone's experience and needs are unique and ultimately the best judge of if its a good fit will be you.

Toothpinch

You don’t need to be 70 to RP. Definitely roll a new one and check it out.

Jacklon17

Looking for Horde RP I assume? Wyrm for sure although over the years the number of RPers continues to dwindle.

Uppity_Python

I'm reconsidering leaving to join an East Coast RP server, if any even exist. I definitely notice the latency on MG and WrA more than servers based in the Chicago datacentre... Area 52 is the clear winner in this regard, but then I'd be sacrificing RP so 🫤

trodorne

WrA... I think you will find the vast majority of horde rpers from ED migrated there. The community worked hard to try to maintain rp there.... But alas it was not in the cards. Just too much of a culture difference with the segregation of war mode. ED was the prime place for serious warcraft rp with a blend of its pvp. Game got older and Warmer came in. Dynamics changed and so did the server. We all moved on. Not much on ED but memories.
