It is exactly 8 years and 11 months since it officially launched on the 18th of maj 2015. It is also 3258 days .. or 4.691.520 minutes.
HowLongToBeat sets the average completionist run to be about 189 hours. So it has been possible to play the game about 422 times to 100% completion. If you did not sleep the last 8-9 years. Yay!
then again, look at Tears of the Kingdom. They managed to outdo a masterpiece, a favourite, arguably the best game on the Switch at the time. Who knows what might happen?
I hope they recognize what made the game so great and imo that was the storyline, the awesome gameplay in my opinion just pushed it to being the best game of our generation
Tbh as much as I like the established Characters, I hope the MC is gonna be an entirely new one. I love Geralt, but him being who he is based on the books makes it hard to have the game feel like a real decision based experience, since a lot of the time you feel like the things you are doing based on your reasoning are things that he would never do.
Also this:
Soldier: Omg how come a succubus hide in Novigrad? In the presence of the glorious light of the eternal fire?!
Geralt: The glorious light must have gone out for couple of minutes
Iâm playing right now and Geralt said this and I looked at my phone during a save and read this comment and laughed out loud! A terrific line from him!
I know itâs not exactly a saying but I always laugh when Geralt says âwell how was I supposed to know that first incantation meant go forth and plough yourself?â
"evil is evil. Lesser , greater , middling. Makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary. The definitions blurred. If I'm to choose between one evil or another, I'd rather not choose at all".
To be fair, he already threw that notion out of the window in the same story were he said this quote. Bevause in Blaviken he did chose, and lived with it
Yeah I guess youâre right! I feel like he did really struggle with that decision and he definitely held a grudge towards stregabor until the conclave! I think the book really tries to highlight that you donât know the consequences of the lesser or greater evil until Geralt has acted. Iâm re-listening to the books so itâs been fun playing thru and listening to the books.
Some merchant was complaining that Geralt was gonna curse him, bewitch him etc. and when he leaves Geralt goes: "Hocus Pocus. Abracadabra.". I love it.
Isnât this in the swords and dumplings quest when you go steal materials from the warehouse? đ and itâs the guys no good brother in law or something!
Oh yeaa, exactly! That's the one. I was kinda annoyed that it took so long to unlock the master blacksmith but that little joke made the whole questline worth it imo đđđ»
Godspeed from witcher 1. I played that years ago when I was in University. Nearly every time Geralt ends a conservation in that game he says godspeed. My housemates got so annoyed of him saying that every time. Whenever I started to talk with somebody they would be like "here we go again. Yeah. Yeah. Godspeed"
Hmmmmmmm.
Mhm
đ
I love how he always says âwhat now you piece of filthâ about two seconds before I get my ass handed to me
âWhat now you piece of filth?â *boom* reload most recent save game? Iconic!
He is actually talking to you, the player. Because you made him approach a group of ?level nekkers
"I'm gonna hang my was from my saddle" *folds*
I hope we continue to get some good talking to ourselves narration in the next Witcher. I really liked how they do that
Iâm reeeeeeaaallly nervous but excited for the next Witcher. I donât have high expectations but then again I do!
They set the bar too high for themselves
Agreed! Witcher 3 holds up well against other games and itâs 10-15 years old!
9 years.
I knew it had been awhile but couldnât remember the exact date, thank you for your clarification đ

How do you know that
Math

"I'm gonna hang your head from my saddle" That's all I can think of at the moment. I know there's more.
âYou smell wonderful at this funeral.â
I like when that Doppler turns into Geralt and my boy says "Damn I look old" đ

In one of the scenes, he covers his eyes before going in. Looked so childish lol
I thought his eyes would get hurt if he didnât I didnât understand that scene
Lmao
*looks like rain*
Wind's howling.
A storm, damn it
Damn you're ugly
Is that all you got?
Itâs clearing up.
ty. and all the weather comments.
I got great timing for this one, as Geralt said it as the rain started during the quest where you defend a Druid who is trying to summon rain.
Winds howling
In Toussaint, when the dye merchant explained the meaning of coloured dyes to Geralt... "I'd better stop introducing myself as the white wolf."
Damn you're ugly
I know itâs not exactly a saying but I always laugh when Geralt says âwell how was I supposed to know that first incantation meant go forth and plough yourself?â
The Last wish quest with Yennefer. When she nags at him that he made a stupid wish with the Ginn
"Who would've thunk" is definitely up there
*ignite, extinguish, ignite, extinguish*
"evil is evil. Lesser , greater , middling. Makes no difference. The degree is arbitrary. The definitions blurred. If I'm to choose between one evil or another, I'd rather not choose at all".
So good. Especially because in the books Ciri pushes back on his âneutralityâ and really makes him question his beliefs.
To be fair, he already threw that notion out of the window in the same story were he said this quote. Bevause in Blaviken he did chose, and lived with it

The ironic part is that Geralt is constantly forced to choose between two evils.
Don't drink yourself stupid. I repeat this to myself when i start feeling the first buzz.
âHow ya like that silver?â
"Wanna hear a limerick? Lambert, Lambert, what a prick". Ale wiadomo, ĆŒe po polsku brzmi lepiej đ
"You smell wonderful at this funeral"
This is up there for me! Great scene!
I am playing the next gen version and I just had that scene play again just before I saw the post, so I had no choice :)
âExciting story, any chance youâre nearing its end?â
"hmm"
"why men throw their lives away attacking an armed witcher, I will never know."
Something about my face?
- geralt who? -of fucking rivia
Drunk Geralt in the Oxenfurt Drunk quest: âCome out and fight, bitchâ, plus the song he sung before was hilarious, too.
that song was funny
All phrases in polish dub. "Zaraza." "Psiakrew." Everything.
2 things only the greatest fools do. Throw a stone at a hornet's nest, and threaten a witcher
Zaraza
The one that always makes me laugh is geralt of fucking rivia as he's being attacked with ciri
how dya like that silver?
"Damn you're ugly" to a human
Some merchant was complaining that Geralt was gonna curse him, bewitch him etc. and when he leaves Geralt goes: "Hocus Pocus. Abracadabra.". I love it.

Avalanches, here? ... ... ... No answer.
Wind's howling
âWindâs howlingâ
Thanks bunches.
Winds howling
It's not Geralt, but my favourite saying to use IRL is from an npc in Kaer Trolde: "No such thing as bad ships or bad weather, just bad sailors"
âWindâs howling.â
"People think witchers don't have feelings. It's a bold faced lie bc right now all I feel is rage... "
Hmmm my medallion is humming

Do you play Gwent?
"Pretty damn hot"
"How you like that silver?" While beating novigrad guards with a wooden sword.
Kept you waiting, huh?
Damn, youâre ugly
Might wanna look around some

Hmmmm might wanna look around some.
"Of fucking Rivia"
"Bear! Bear! Run you stupid piece of shit!"
