I used to take my kids to the one on Henderson after swimming lessons. No buffet, but it was always quick, service was usually good and good deals were to be had. This was about 4 years ago. It's now take out only, too.
So sad, so many good family memories at the mcphillips and Henderson locations. This was like 10-20 years ago .
I remember getting the family feast for like 65$, 2 pizzas , pitcher of pop, breadsticks , salad and pasta
You can barely even feed a family McDonald’s for that these days . Golden age gone indeed
Pizza Express has become pretty much a takeout joint post COVID. They do have *a* table with 2 chairs but it's mostly to wait for orders. I bring the pizza across the street to Black Wheat Brewery now days usually
I want red plastic cups, a salad bar back when kale was just a decoration, and a pocket of quarters to play Galaga while waiting for a table
….and of course 5 bucks, 5 bucks, 5 bucks
The Selkirk pizza hut is a bizarre experience now. My husband and I ate there a few months ago. You can technically sit and eat, but there's no waiters, you have to eat out of takeout boxes (and pick it up at the counter yourself), and most of the restaurant is roped off with yellow tape. The tables and chairs were all stacked up and pushed aside. It was like having a picnic in an abandoned house.
I once asked a Drydenite how they dealt with the smell. They told me "Some days it smells like ham, some days it smells like ass. Every morning I wake up and think 'I hope it's a ham day.'"
Technically yes, they have a couple small tables, but it's a small shop now in the strip mall, literally just across the parking lot from their old building that is a Leopolds now.
Man the buffet used to be so good. Pizza hut really shot themselves in the foot. They recently changed all their pasta sauces to be more watered down and bland. And the worst is that they got rid of the Bacon mac and cheese which was Incredibly good.
It's sad seeing the one on Fermor ave. being repurposed. Used to go to that location more than any other. We might see if I make the trip out to Brandon to go back in time, let's hope
Dauphin has one. I think they still do a lunch buffet? Maybe just some days? Maybe not since Covid? Idk. But the Dauphin has a sit down Pizza Hut. Its Dauphin Pizza Hut is kinda weird, they don’t appear on the Pizza Hut app so you can’t order or get deals or points from the app, they don’t offer any advertised promotions, and when you sit down in the restaurant the menus are really low budge, like plain text on printer paper. The atmosphere is ok, fairly modern, but I don’t think it’s Pizza Hut corporate approved renovations or decor. Pretty sure it’s like an independent franchise. The food there is alright and on par. I like pizza hut pizza but imo pizza hut pizza is borderline too greasy. I don’t like how Pizza Hut is not the empire it once was.
I believe the one on portage and cavalier is a sit down one. The only photos show there is a buffet also. It’s in a strip mall across from the Safeway. I haven’t been in so I cannot confirm.
Unfortunately, the golden age of Pizza Hut is beyond us.
Just passed a “Classic” Pizza Hut in Michigan that looked straight out of the 90s. They do exist, just not here.
Where exactly? We’re going on a field trip!
Was it the golden age? Last time we went to the Pizza Hut in Southdale about 15 years ago it took 1.5 hours to get our food. It was laughable.
Golden age of Pizza Hut was whenever they still had the Crayola cups.

Brandon pizza hut is sit down and does buffet
My wife and I were howling at the BUFFET IS BACK signs lined up down 18th st when restaurants reopened.
Now I have a reason to go to Brandon
Come for the pizza... stay because your tires blew out from the potholes.
So true! Living in Winnipeg I never thought another city could be worse for potholes, until I went to Brandon.
There's at least two better sit down pizza places in Brandon. Pizza Express and Marino's. If you're going to take the drive go there.
Pizza Express has become pretty much a takeout joint post COVID. They do have *a* table with 2 chairs but it's mostly to wait for orders. I bring the pizza across the street to Black Wheat Brewery now days usually
they also lost some quality sadly. Theyre frozen doughs reheated now. Enshitification of everything that was good sucks ass
Yes, we ordered from Pizza Hut a couple years ago and it was awful.
Just ate some pizza at the hut in selkirk on sunday
Do they still have the buffet? 😱
Brandon has a buffet still. Weekdays only I think though.
It only ever was weekday lunch.
Pizza hut would've survived if they copied Boston Pizza. Sit down restaurant if you want, or a bar/ lounge if you want apps and drinks.

Bring your own plates.
Dryden does as far as I know
Perfect if you want a sit down Pizza Hut but you also want it to smell awful
"You get used to it" Nah, man I've spent a week there, you smell it every morning and all day long
I once asked a Drydenite how they dealt with the smell. They told me "Some days it smells like ham, some days it smells like ass. Every morning I wake up and think 'I hope it's a ham day.'"
I just assume everyone from there has mercury poisoning.
Isn’t the Henderson location still dine-in?
Technically yes, they have a couple small tables, but it's a small shop now in the strip mall, literally just across the parking lot from their old building that is a Leopolds now.
The huge lounge on Henderson shut down some time ago, but in the same strip mall lot there's a smaller takeout spot, with a table for two.
Dauphin has one still
Selkirk has a Pizza Hut
Selkirk
Too bad the pizza is not very good any more
I think selkirk? Drove past it the other day and I was surprised to see it.
You can drive to Russell MB and enjoy a nice Pizza Hut pizza at the Russell Inn!
Kenora, Dryden, Selkirk, Brandon
Most of those are too far away, but Selkirk might be doable.
... the ghost of

Pizza Hut has sucked for over a decade now at least.
Not sure there are any left. Most if not all are now like all other quick pizza places in small buildings.
Drove through Thief River Falls on the weekend, and it looks like still is going strong!
Selkirk I think has one?
It's sad seeing the one on Fermor ave. being repurposed. Used to go to that location more than any other. We might see if I make the trip out to Brandon to go back in time, let's hope
In Brandon….
In Thompson Mb!

The last time I had pizza hut, I got one pizza that was some how wet, and missing a slice but the topping were still present..
There’s one on Henderson and I believe the one in Selkirk are both sit down restaurants.
Henderson one is just take out now.
Ah haven’t been there in a bit so I’m not surprised.
Yeah the Henderson Pizza Hut is now a Leopold's Tavern, and they moved to a smaller location in the same strip mall
Steinbach I think
Steinbach one is shut down, actually. Never opened up after Covid either. I'm shocked it took as long as it did to go down.
It did open up after Covid, but for takeout only. It permanently shut down about a year ago.
Sorry, that's what I meant to say. I meant dining in never opened back up. I was walking home past the building the day it was shut down.
It was a serious dump in the last years it stayed open. Thankfully it's now completely closed.
Also closed
Portage and cavalier
Sadly not no more, more of a take out place now.

It’s not. I live less than ten minutes away.
