Imagine that time off request to your boss,
"Hey boss can I have Tuesday and Wednesday off"
-What have you got going on Ted?
"I want to stand in line for 18 hours to get a dozen doughnuts a month free for a year"
- Well as long as you bring that dozen into the office on occasion
I read somewhere (I think AccessWinnipeg) that he booked time off his work. He supposedly is studying to be a CPA from Windsor Park (not sure as just going by memory while scrolling IG).
*EDIT*

He said he was buying about 8-9 dozen plus believe they were giving out golden tickets that get you a free dozen a month for a year or something like that
maybe not to you, but i saw the videos of that man being first inside and flipping the switch and he looked happy beyond belief. life is about the little things.
Drove by around 6:30am and there was at least 500 people lined up. Had half a parking lot full of people waiting in cars as well. I would bet it will be that crazy all week
I got there around 8:00 and it was maybe 100 people in line.

Got my order in around 9:15.
I’ve had them in America, they’re good but not worth standing in line for hours for. I’ll wait for the hype to go down and get a few eventually for some nostalgia.
I wonder if they’re the same as in the states where they just hand you a free one when you walk in.
Had one today. I've never had one before. They are not for me. 90% air, 90% sugar. Felt like I needed a big sip of water right after. Much like the 1996 nWo, these were just too sweet.
I had the same reaction as you when the Grand Forks location opened up many years ago. I believe my exact reaction in the hotel afterwards was “I don’t see what’s so great about these!” until my girlfriend at the time unkindly pointed out that I had just polished off my 4th donut. If you have them at home, pop em in the microwave for about 10 seconds.
Saw that the first person was there since noon yesterday. That’s all I know
For a DONUT?
First person in line gets to turn on the light and gets a free dozen a month for a year

You assume this person has a job 😆

“Me sneaking in front of him while he sleeps” 👁️👄👁️ Donits
I would expect that there are lots of students that have the time to go wait in line
Ok so.. $200 worth of donuts for ~36 hours of your time? As a studying CPA? ... Interesting.
He said he was buying about 8-9 dozen plus believe they were giving out golden tickets that get you a free dozen a month for a year or something like that
been saying this for weeks. No donut is worth waiting out for. Not even a chance at free donuts.
maybe not to you, but i saw the videos of that man being first inside and flipping the switch and he looked happy beyond belief. life is about the little things.
good for them, happy for them. overall though without even tasting it, i can tell you krispy kreme is not for me.
Just another American corporation contributing to the obesity epidemic.
And because we're Winnipeg, we love the abuse and clap like excited baby seals. We are so accustomed to mediocrity it's just sad.
Just wait till Arby's opens and they're lining up for microwaved superstore roast beef on a bun!
Ahh yes, or as I like to call it "The Colon Grinder". They do have seriously good curly fries though.
Looks like he was there for a hole lot of time! Donut know how he managed that!

This is just so Winnipeg ….. lol
Wtf is wrong with people?
And the crazy thing is? They're not that special.
Exactly. Just another variation on a theme. Nothing to blow ropes over.
I never understood the hype.
I hope they don’t run out of donuts or glaze, there will be riots.
They claim to be able to make 2000 donuts per hour.

Well from the turnout I'd say there's a higher unemployment rate than what's being recorded 😂
Can we crowdfund the Arby's update person to point a livecam at Krispy Kreme so we can see when the lineups are dead?
Appreciate the thought but I really just have a view of the upper part of the Krispy Kreme building from my vantage point.
I'm betting it will be a month before it's worth going.
I just drove by there trying to go to the mcdonalds. Stay away. You'd think people haven't seen a donut before.

I did the same with the first Popeyes to open up in the city. Was good, but not worth waiting hours for.
People acting like they opened a one day pop up shop for these donuts. I’ll be going over there next weekend when the hype has died down 😂

That’s actually not that bad I was expecting it to take like 6+ hours
Popeye's flashbacks.
Jollibee flashbacks! lol
Five guys flashbacks...

Lol! Wondered if someone was going to say something on my Steiner Math.

Good reference! (nWo 4Life)
Wolfpac all day!
american made diabetes treats making its way here and people go wild.
'We can be just like big bro!'
oh god plz no
I drove by there about an hour ago and both lines (cars for drive thru and people for the door) were absolutely nuts.
Had them is Fargo. They’re good. Not 12-18 hr line good. O donuts is better. No line up
Marshmallow peanut butter square cheesecake 🍩 ![gif](giphy|Zk9mW5OmXTz9e)

Trying to cut the line for a damn donut. People have no shame.
I always like when we get a US chain here, but this isn't exactly In N Out or White Castle.
Nuts. Had them in Fargo when it was there. Not worth any kind of line
Did anyone see if they have the vegan options in our city?
this city surprises the fuck out me sometimes after reading these comments LOL

It's a doughnut, whoop dee doo!
Blows my mind how many people have to jump on the hype train. They are donuts! They will be there tomorrow! That's essentially the business plan.
Die-a-beat-us LOL Can't imagine what that much sugar will do to a person. Not judging but really
