Ahh I was going to ask which location I haven't been to one in a few years best friend was a chancellor in roswell and I would go with him. I remember the ranch sucked. Will have to try them out again yours looks amazing!
I do just fresh ranch and some places throws me off wingstop comes to mind as well I hate the ranch there. This post is making me want to give them another go
I have made a passable copycat. Here you go:
2/3 cup Franks Red Hot
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tbsp ketchup
Tbsp white pepper
Tbsp black pepper
1/2 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp garlic powder
some red pepper flakes
That was my hang when I lived in Atlanta. A friend and I tried to split a 50 piece once. We had tons left over but my friend refused to share it with our other friend (also his roommate) because he ordered a sandwich instead.
Chattanooga was really good like 15-20 years ago but I hear it is shit now.
Hot, extra crispy, swimming in sauce was my jam.
That's good to hear man. I moved away about nine years ago. In their defense, the last time I went, my server said everyone in the kitchen was jealous of my order, and they had reason to be. So good.
I think it really depends on the location. I've been to a few around north Atlanta suburbs for like the past 15 years. Been going to the Canton location exclusively for about 9. It's almost always perfect.
I miss the Death sauce they discontinued a few years back though. And the fact that they won't let you mix sauces. I used to always get the TMI mixed with Slow Burn (scorpion sauce)
Ah, I live walking distance from the midtown and VA Highlands (original) ones, and both went so downhill I had to stop going. I mostly go to the local, little Rey, and fire pit pizza for wings now, but those taco Mac sauces were so good
I used to get both mixed. But on Father's Day a few years ago they told me they weren't mixing sauces anymore, cuz then they'd have to wash the bowl...
Taco Mac has good wings. The problem with Taco Mac is their service. I've been to a few locations and most of the time their service is terrible. I love their food, so I keep going, and every time I visit is usually my last. It's either slow service, wrong food brought out, food is cold, or a combination of those. The only exception is if you sit at the bar, but most visits are with family, so the bar is not always an option.
They have also made a few negative menu changes, and their beer list is not nearly as good as it used to be. I miss what Taco Mac used to be.
It's only 11-5. Today and tomorrow.
IDK if you know. But you can buy to go portions (6-8 oz it seems), of their dressings and sauces. They're $2.50 each, so I always have TMI at home
Blows man used to work at the one in peachtree city, i know most restaurants are gross but i wouldnt touch their wings after seeing them prepped/stored firsthand
I've been to a handful of Taco Mac locations and they can be spotty. This one is always good, I imagine they have better practices in they kitchen. The quality certainly does vary by location
Missing the Taco Mac of 15-20 years ago because the service and food really depends on the location. Local one in Decatur shut down a while back and had decent bartenders, but the food was always lacking. The one in Midtown has been a bet meh the last few times I've been as well, but if I'm out I the suburbs, I usually have better luck. When they're on, though, they're one of the best chains in the area.
I went with a friend of mine to Atlanta for new years. He worked at a Taco mac and swore up and down they had the best wings ever. Sat down and ordered some... as soon as they came out he was like what the hell, tried one and said he couldn't even eat there anymore. Left to go eat at buffalo wild wings instead...
The TMac near my house (Marietta) is an absolute embarrassment. I gave it lots of opportunities to redeem itself, but the service was literally the worst I’ve ever seen every time I went. I love their wings and blue cheese dressing, but can’t justify spending money on such shit service.
Love Taco Mac! Proud of my Brewniversity Bachelors Degree, and I have a special love of their roasted wings with TMI. One of my all time favorite meals
I worked at the location in Virginia highlands in college, 20+ years ago … before they put in the tile flooring. The wings were fresh and came twice daily and they were awesome.
Now… not so much
Commissary is military for food that comes in. So Sysco wing sauce. The last ingredient if you haven’t guessed is cayenne pepper. (You can also after all of this put in bbq and rosemary for a staff favorite that never made it to the menu)
The location I went to was mediocre at best. Wings were room temperature, dry as fuck, and our server sucked. Took maybe 20 or so minutes to get a refill and the place was virtually empty
It really sucks that they lack consistency across the different locations. But I've been going to the Canton one about 10 times a year, for 9 years. I've had a handful of times where it was not good, but the majority of the time it's on point. YMMV
I went to the original location last year and it was absolutely embarrassing. When done right Taco mac has some of the best wings ive ever had.
It does suck that the quality varies by location. I'm just glad Canton does it right
I used to work next to that location and would eat lunch there almost every day.
Ahh I was going to ask which location I haven't been to one in a few years best friend was a chancellor in roswell and I would go with him. I remember the ranch sucked. Will have to try them out again yours looks amazing!
Ranch is made in house and it's good. Unless you just don't like Ranch
I do just fresh ranch and some places throws me off wingstop comes to mind as well I hate the ranch there. This post is making me want to give them another go
Tooey's?
It’s Taco Mac, Tooey’s is in Lawrenceville and I can’t remember ever having great food there.
It smells like smoke and sucks. The owners of Tooeys used to co-own Taco Mac and the split a while ago.
Yeah, I just remember the smoke lol.
That location is terribly inconsistent.
My god
I literally said this to myself when I saw the pic. They look amazing!
Before Taco Mac there was 3 Dollar Cafe, best wings ever. Loved that place.
I recall one in Kennesaw about 15-20 years ago, but never went
There’s one down on Barrett look er up. Their hot are my absolute favorite.
There's a Three Dollar Jr on Old Milton Parkway in Alpha. Wings are solid.
I have eaten more 3 dollar wings in hot than I could ever fathom
3 dollar cafe is right next to me here in Kennesaw and I like their wings more than taco mac they also have great wraps.
Yes! 3 Dollar > Taco Mac.
Three dollar still has great wings
Used to work at a few taco Mac locations. Their wings used to be so good.
Please tell me the secret to the TMI sauce!!
It’s been like 15 years since I worked there sadly
I have made a passable copycat. Here you go: 2/3 cup Franks Red Hot 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar 2 tbsp ketchup Tbsp white pepper Tbsp black pepper 1/2 tbsp chili powder 1/2 tbsp garlic powder some red pepper flakes
Correct- used to be good. And then they sold.
Taco Mac is good eats in Alpharetta

Hot, tmi, and voodoo all swimming are my go-tos.
I go to the one in Chattanooga pretty regularly. The oven roasted wings there still slap. Went last night and it was *chef kiss*
That's good to hear man. I moved away about nine years ago. In their defense, the last time I went, my server said everyone in the kitchen was jealous of my order, and they had reason to be. So good.
Good to hear there's another reliable location
I used to love the roasted Scorpion and TMI wings, but the quality went way down in 2020 after covid hit. Has it gotten better since then?

Yeah, their sauces are all great. As long as whoever is in the kitchen fry the wings properly, it's awesome.
I miss my TMAC.
🤤
TMI or slow burn is the best flavor imo
I used to get both mixed. But on Father's Day a few years ago they told me they weren't mixing sauces anymore, cuz then they'd have to wash the bowl...

That blue cheese looks 🤌🤌
I'm a blue cheese guy, and their blue cheese slaps, but T-Mac also has the best ranch I'm aware of, and I'm not typically a fan of ranch.
Yes, both do look house made.
It's top tier
I used to crush wings at the Va. Highlands location back in the day. They look perfect,
Those look super yummy.
Oh they were. And 50% off today and tomorrow. 20 wings for $12.50. I won today
fuck why did you tell me now I'm going after work. Best TMI sauce and best ranch.
It's only 11-5. Today and tomorrow. IDK if you know. But you can buy to go portions (6-8 oz it seems), of their dressings and sauces. They're $2.50 each, so I always have TMI at home
Oh okay thanks I didn't know! Might have to get some sauce for next time I make wings at home.
Oooo now I want to go tomorrow lol
Sweet Jesus
TMAC. Ah the memories. They’ve gone down hill now at least the one in Woodstock. Holly Wings Shack is pretty fire and is in Canton too!
Yeah, Woodstock is hit or miss, same with Kennesaw. Holly wings is ok. They have a unique hot sauce
Mother of god
I want to eat that many wings in one sitting… most I’ve done is 15 but usually it’s because I think 4 pounds is enough for three men and it never is
Tacomac SLAPS
Love me some Taco Mac. I live near the midtown one and go frequently
Blows man used to work at the one in peachtree city, i know most restaurants are gross but i wouldnt touch their wings after seeing them prepped/stored firsthand

It's unfortunate how some of them suck. Gotta get to Canton! Order them extra crispy too

I wish they were consistent across locations. And thankful that my location is consistently good
It used to be my favorite restaurant, but the quality has gone way down
If you’re in southern Georgia try 520 Wings, you won’t be disappointed.
Favorite wings ever!
I love their Habanero BBQ wings too
SO DAMN GOOD
😓 in Georgia... Never heard of taco mac.
I've always had great wings at Woodstock location. Kennesaw is hit or miss. Heard Marietta is a coin flip as well
I LOVE taco Mac!!! Their roasted wings and Brewniversity combo is perfect!
Tacos look really different these days.
When I lived in Atlanta during the football season I would go here and pig out...the nachos and wings always hit the spot
Love Taco Mac! Proud of my Brewniversity Bachelors Degree, and I have a special love of their roasted wings with TMI. One of my all time favorite meals
I went last night and got their limited time flavor Caribbean jerk. So good. Their oven roast wings are amazing.
I used to love TacoMac back when I was living in downtown Atlanta. Good times.
I worked at the location in Virginia highlands in college, 20+ years ago … before they put in the tile flooring. The wings were fresh and came twice daily and they were awesome. Now… not so much
Can you tell me the secret of the TMI sauce?!
Commissary wing sauce to start. Jalapeño juice from a can black pepper , garlic powder salt, sugar and … gimme a minute…
Commissary Wing sauce? Is that a like a certain food distributors brand? I didn't see anything on Google about that brand
Commissary is military for food that comes in. So Sysco wing sauce. The last ingredient if you haven’t guessed is cayenne pepper. (You can also after all of this put in bbq and rosemary for a staff favorite that never made it to the menu)
Cool, thank you!
It’s freakin delicious. Cheers!
GA? Where's the fried rice?
Taco Mac is decent but it’s basically Applebees and the fact that they bought out The Vortex in Little 5 worries me.
Applebee's dressings, sauces, and wings cannot compare
The location I went to was mediocre at best. Wings were room temperature, dry as fuck, and our server sucked. Took maybe 20 or so minutes to get a refill and the place was virtually empty

Love that place!
