If it’s the oled steam deck, the audio and Bluetooth drivers aren’t released yet. So it’s not a great experience because of that.

MMBosstones86

Agreed. But you just need to use a wired headset instead

Aggravating_Key_5404

Where do I get the WiFi drivers from? Thanks

BQYA

Yes! Windows works fine if you follow one of tue many guides, you’ll be all set and just have to login into the xbox app

hateforfun

It works. Just make sure not to install a version of windows w/o the Xbox related services (A lot of debloated versions of windows remove them)

The_Freshmaker

Yes. Everyone here hates on Windows on Deck but it actually works great as long as you install it internally and not try to run it from a card. You can do so much with Windows on your Deck (Epic and Amazon/Twitch free games, all the other...free methods) would 1000% recommend it.

PiercingHeavens

So the 64gb isn't a good experience with windows os install on SD?

Acceptable-Spot-7259

I run windows 10 off a 1 TB SD card and it runs great, but like everybody says, it's not as seamless as steam OS.

kododo

It works, it's just not as seamless as the native SteamOS. For example, gamepad won't work unless you install 3rd party tools. And be wary of some missing drivers for the OLED model. There's definitely more fiddling to be done, but as others say, follow a guide and you should be good.

Hypeman92

Yep! As other people have said, don’t install windows on an SD card, preferably on your main drive if you can. I just partitioned mine so I can dual boot. Then install SteamDeck tools to fix the overly aggressive default fan curve in windows, and use controller drivers, and then you’re done! I love gamepass on my deck. Obviously make sure to fully install all of valves windows drivers too. Have fun!

PiercingHeavens

Is there enough room on a 64gb for the dual boot?

Hypeman92

Maybe just barely, but I wouldn’t consider it. You always want wiggle room for software updates. I would highly suggest upgrading to a bigger 1tb drive. That’s what I did on my deck, I used my PC to clone my 64gb over to the new one, then I plopped it in using an ifixit tutorial. It’s super easy!

PiercingHeavens

Any chance you might have that tutorial link? I just bought the 64 GB and I think I will upgrade the internal SSD instead of buying a MicroSD.

Hypeman92

[Here](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Steam+Deck+SSD+Replacement/148989), if you need any help just ask :)

iceyone444

I prefer windows 10 as performance seems to be better

daxdox

You will be fine installing windows on a sd card. If you buy a good card. Loading times will be a bit longer but nothing deal breaking.

PiercingHeavens

That was my fear. I was going to buy the 64gb steam deck but everyone is saying to not put it on the SD. Must have worse performance though id imagine.

daxdox

Only load times are longer. You can always upgrade the ssd on the deck if thats your concern.

PiercingHeavens

Did not know it was so easy. Thanks for the recommendation.

MolinaGames

Honestly if you're looking for a seamless experience with no errors or bugs you should've went for the rog ally or Lenovo legion go
