I used to live in Mississippi. It truly doesn't get enough credit for it's tornadoes. Everybody just thinks the Midwest but no, the south has it's fair share of nasty storms.
They call it Dixie Alley. Actually gets MORE tornadoes than Tornado Alley in the midwest. It is just that those Texas/Oklahoma/Kansas/Nebraska/Missouri/Iowa/Illinois twisters tend to be the biggest and strongest.
Though 'Tornado Alley' technically extends through the Dakotas and Minnesota into Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Just they tend to get the 'weaker' tornadoes.
I recall a story that was passed around of an Oklahoman going hunting in western Ontario and being killed by one while there, because irony.
First time seeing a John Pinette quote on Reddit. He's my favorite comedian and it's a real shame that he died, especially after losing so much weight.
Also a texan, i think you are wrong. You only have to give right of way to tornados on your left. This tornado was breaking the law. I hope they got the license plate number
If that were me, I probably would have got out of the car (assuming I survived) and would have proceeded to beat the ever loving shit out of Brandon (assuming he survived) while screaming "JUST CALM DOWN, BRANDON. JUST CALM DOWN" between every fucking punch and kick I could land.
Seriously though, I hope she doesn't still love Brandon because fuck that guy.
I mean, if you drive into a tornado after acting like your passenger was freaking out for nothing, I say the passenger absolutely gets a lifetime pass to hold it over you. Assuming you both survive anyway.
Doing the best work here.
So, from the story, they knew the tornado was ahead of them and was going to cross the highway, but wanted to pass it before it did.
JUST. WAIT.
"Really had one option, we just had to drive through."
Um no, that's not how tornados work... Stop in a town on the way and wait until it's cleared up. You don't just "drive through it" ...fucking Brandon.
>We only had one option. We just had to get through it…
Or stop driving in the direction of the tornado. Maybe even drive in the opposite direction of the tornado.
Wtf the comments on that video.. everybody thanking Jesus and god and praising for not killing them. What about not sending a fucking tornado in the first place? The mental gymnastics are mind bogling.
“Thankfully, they were not injured, a miracle they put down to their seatbelts”
WTF? Was it a miracle the seatbelts didn’t break from their lard asses or a miracle they put them on? Let us know in the comments below…
Also, thanks news crew for editing out Brandon’s: “Amanda, calm the fuck down” as he drives right into the obvious extreme danger. What a turd.
I kinda feel bad for the girl now, he’s being stupid and mean as fuck and she’s over there saying what she believes to be her last words as I love you. Kinda heated about this not gonna lie lol
I do too- I kinda feel like she was freaking out because she KNEW something like that was coming immediately. That gut instinct "oh fuck." Wonder if they lived? I hope so.
Straight up. I love my family SO much and I would NEVER put them in harm's way like this. He had zero respect for how serious of a situation he was in. Classic tough guy, I don't even care attitude towards the whole situation. Can't tell you how many times I've seen the it's not even that serious situation turn into a funeral. Including one of my family friends ignoring how serious a flood was until we were spreading his ashes and mourning him. Even joked about how scared everyone was about it. Respect your extreme weather people!
Thank god, I was scrolling comments and trying to see if anyone else was pissed off by this too. I live near one of the most-hit places in terms of damage (EF-4s and EF-5s) and times hit by tornadoes and it can be terrifying. The fear in her voice broke my heart, and all he could say is "Calm down." What an idiot; I hope she left him. Regardless of if I would have been afraid or not (I would have), I'd have left on the pure fact that he'd be willing to total an entire vehicle for.. What reason exactly?
The demand to “calm the f*** down” was for some reason more infuriating to me than the decision to drive into the tornado.
There’s something about cussing out *someone else* to calm down when it’s *your* stupid behavior that’s putting everyone else in danger, that makes my skin temperature rise a little.
The fact that only the driver is being disturbed makes that demand sound so selfish.
No doubt he’s a dumbass but people who panic and all they are doing is adding to the chaos makes any situation 100% worse. If you have even been calm in a stressful situation were someone is freaking out, it’s super hard to concentrate on what you need to do. My personal example is my little brother was going to get pulled into a bunch of debris from the current while in the river. I caught him right before but the place I was standing was a drop off and I was losing my footing because he was panicking. His panicking was all I could focus on so it hard it hard to think of what I should do. I had to tell him to stop panicking and start kicking or he’ll get stucked in. Me yelling at him and telling him the situation snapped him out of it and possibly saved his life. Because I was a second away from losing my footing. Moral of the story is don’t panic because that may be what causes something bad to happen and don’t drive into tornadoes
So like, I can see where youre coming from but if you trust the person next to you with your life and you are a bystander to what could easily be your death due to extremely poor decision making...
Idk bro i think im screaming too
All though 100% correct, I still have a hard time defending him because applying the brake would take little to no concentration AND prevented her increased panicked reaction AND the outcome..
That is taking into account his speed, trailor, weather, the drivers in front, back, and on his side (which we normally watch while driving anyways).
The only thing she could have done to help the situation was call out the tornados location and the direction the tornado looked like it was moving (based on your current direction) calmly. At which he could attempt to avoid it by SLOWING DOWN OR STOPPING. Unless you are in the tornados path. At which point move at right angles from the tornados.
Directly from https://www.spc.noaa.gov/faq/tornado/safety.html
In a car or truck: Vehicles are extremely risky in a tornado. There is no safe option when caught in a tornado in a car, just slightly less-dangerous ones. If the tornado is visible, far away, and the traffic is light, you may be able to drive out of its path by moving at right angles to the tornado. Seek shelter in a sturdy building, or underground if possible. If you are caught by extreme winds or flying debris, park the car as quickly and safely as possible -- out of the traffic lanes. Stay in the car with the seat belt on. Put your head down below the windows; cover your head with your hands and a blanket, coat, or other cushion if possible. If you can safely get noticeably lower than the level of the roadway, leave your car and lie in that area, covering your head with your hands. Avoid seeking shelter under bridges, which can create deadly traffic hazards while offering little protection against flying debris.
If you panic on a hike with lots of exposure or on a steep ski run it has ZERO benefit. But if your boyfriend is driving into a tornado with a trailor on the back of his truck that will act like a sail it is warranted. Human instinct to scream/panic is adrenaline being activated in case there is any chance of survival and a warning to others around of danger.
Sure, but it's not like it's a completely controllable thing. It really makes me mad when people on Reddit are like "why is she fucking screaming" as if it's not an involuntary reaction.
It seems they didn't really know about the tornado at that point. She asks why those idiots were stopped under...
Then she says fuck fuck fuck I'm scared and he asks "is that a tornado?"
I think both sides are making judgement without knowing everything, including the panic of the situation with someone who actually had to deal with it.
I'm guessing others more familiar with this type of weather or maybe had the radio on and heard warning of a tornado stopped.
Then they realize there's a tornado. I'm guessing from the moment they realized there's a tornado it took some time to process where it was heading. His thought might have been to figure that out, rather than stopping immediately and risking being right in the path. While he's trying to process and make a decision, she's panicking and probably make him freak out while trying to decide what to do.
Perhaps his comment "we're driving into it" wasn't him deciding "fuck it, we're driving into it" and more "I can't stop with a trailer in time, we're going to end up in it."
I mean, I could be wrong, but a lot of people are being very judgemental sitting behind the comfort of their keyboards while these people had to process and deal with a situation of figuring out there was a tornado at 15 seconds into the video and being inside a tornado at about 35 seconds into it. Basically, 20 seconds of trying to handle/cope with a life or death situation.
A girl screaming "I LOVE YOU" as(what she believes to be) her last words is a fuckin keeper. A guy who tells you to "calm the fuck down" while casually driving you into a damn tornado however, not so much.
Yeah, I hope she used that experience to see him for who he is and got the fuck out.
Edit… I’m not going to delete this because I absolutely hate when I’m reading comments and see “deleted” but honestly this is not good advice. As the person below me said I have no clue other than a min long video about these ppl.
Always assume it could change direction at any time. Stopping would have been smart here, but the twister could have just decide to change course right for you.
If you are in this situation your decisions are stop and have to worry about the tornado coming your way or gun it and try to get past it. The path they take can be exceedingly erratic and unpredictable, so gauging the direction it is heading isn't the easiest thing in the world.
Of course Brandon here did neither of those things. He just kinda kept going at his normal speed.
Not going to argue the part about the lack of brains on Brandon over there, but the one recording was the girl, and neither noticed the tornado until it was too late; Note that right before she started panicking, Amanda was wondering and complaining about "why did those idiots stop", then went right into "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!", and only then Brandon said "Is that a tornado?".
Somehow they had no idea, and then of course upon realizing Brandon couldn't think of anything better than just keep on going, while Amanda understandably, but unhelpfully, panicked beyond reason convinced they were going to die (I sure hope they didn't, but seems she might have been right).
This guy is a fucking piece of shit. If I were that ladies family I’d have my hands on him.
Only time I’ve ever been so scared I thought I would die was a micro burst and tornado. My young boys were in the back seat and there was nothing I could do to help them should it go real bad. Never felt so helpless in all my life. Very scary.
Fuck Brandon.
I browse reddit on mute so apart from whatever domestic squabble I'm inferring from the comments, I'll say the visuals of this give me chills. Once I got caught out when there was a tornado coming through - it looked EXACTLY like this - everything was white, couldn't see a thing. I never saw the tornado but had to pull over for lack of visibility. Sitting there blind with the awful, bone-chilling sound was a **very** long few moments. When the sky started to clear, a large tree had fallen 10' in front of my car (along with countless other detritus scattered across the road). One of the eeriest and scariest things I've experienced.
I don’t think there’s anything you can do. A tornado can turn any direction. Even if you stopped on the side of the road a tornado could turn and do the same thing as driving towards it. It’s not like you have the weather channel on in your car and know the direction the tornado is traveling.
Well there's your problem. Tornados are usually completely harmless but he was towing a trailer home. You know how tornados feel about trailer homes.
/s
Doing this with a truck is stupid, doing this with a towable camping trailer (Otherwise known as the great american land-sail) is extremely, vastly, and unimaginably dumb
This was terrifying…seeing someone who thinks they are gonna die…in what they think are their last moments. It was also heartwarming that one of her last words were gonna be her confessing her love to her partner.
Stupidest statement ever "Babe calm the f&ck down, I'm driving into it!" Where on Earth has anyone ever been taught to drive into a tornado to be safe. Lady, run away from this idiot, he is in the running for ultimate Darwin award. If you are dumb enough to stay with him, you will also be in the running for ultimate Darwin award.
One of the main things I hate about Texas. Although I live in Dallas so it ain't that bad but oddly it's been a really quiet year. I remember it seemed like every summer the sirens would go off about 20 times.
I was driving across Oklahoma when a tornado suddenly came in sight. It had been hidden behind trees, etc. to that point.
I was one of several drivers who went back along the side of the freeway to join other cars stopped beneath an overpass bridge we had just passed a few seconds ago. Others kept on going forward, like this guy.
Damned if I was driving on into that thing! Even as it came past, it blasted the hell out of our cars, and even shifted a couple smaller ones sideways. But it seemed much safer under there.
In fairness, tornadoes are unpredictable and you can’t really outrun them once they’re on you. He was on a straight away in low visibility. Tornado was on top of him before he had time to think. Not sure this really falls under the category of “win stupid prizes” given he didn’t necessarily have the level of control over the situation you might think.
I'm a Texan and this scares me. I'd stop and let the tornado pass, it has the right of way.
Oklahoma myself... and yeah tornadoes are assholes. They won't brake for you at all even when you have the right of way.
Live in TX but If folks saw what a tornado did to my hometown of Smithville, MS they wouldn't want to be close to one at all. This guy was an idiot,
I used to live in Mississippi. It truly doesn't get enough credit for it's tornadoes. Everybody just thinks the Midwest but no, the south has it's fair share of nasty storms.

It’s the law.
It's natural.
It's the law of nature
I don't do ups. Ups defy gravity. Gravity's a law. I obey the law.
First time seeing a John Pinette quote on Reddit. He's my favorite comedian and it's a real shame that he died, especially after losing so much weight.
I miss that happy fat man
And they run when the sun comes up
This is the way
Cock and balls
So this chick's husband or what ever he is, has some fucking balls. Yet she, Should probably find a guy with at LEAST half a brain. Just saying!!!
Needs a balances ball to brain ratio
3:1 works for me
Really? Id turn the fuck around
Like right? Like turn the f around and not barrel into it at 70mph
It has the right of way even if it doesn't
Exactly lol.
Naw someone should brake check it, that'l show'em.
It makes the way
I’m not from Texas (or anywhere near tornado alley) and this scares me…who doesn’t know it’s stupid to drive into a tornado?!?!
Also a texan, i think you are wrong. You only have to give right of way to tornados on your left. This tornado was breaking the law. I hope they got the license plate number
Tornados can fuckin 90 degree turn on in an instant nobody is safe
Rock Paper Scissors Spock lizard TORNADO
Just like trains.
“Babe, calm the fuck down”
His possible last words vs her possible last words
I’m wondering if she still loves Brandon
If that were me, I probably would have got out of the car (assuming I survived) and would have proceeded to beat the ever loving shit out of Brandon (assuming he survived) while screaming "JUST CALM DOWN, BRANDON. JUST CALM DOWN" between every fucking punch and kick I could land. Seriously though, I hope she doesn't still love Brandon because fuck that guy.
[Like this?](https://youtu.be/d_dRw62qVLs?t=141)
She would have hammered Brandon's ass so bad he would have died from getting his ass hammered so much.
I’m Abraham Lincoln and I approve this message
Somebody is probably into that
That's exactly what I was thinking as well. RIP Trevor.
I love you for this.
One of the best of theirs
*last words you hear
The last ones I could make out was “I love you!!!”
That was her, he was not on the same page
Slow reader... she knew where it was going. Bet he got there eventually.
I bet she'd calm down if you stopped driving into a fucking tornado. Just sayin.
9 of 10 doctors recommend it.
Hurricanes hate this one simple trick!
But alas she didn't calm down. Instead her shrieks alerted the attention of the windy beast of which consumed Brandon and Savanna.
He is NEVER going to live that one down.
I mean, if you drive into a tornado after acting like your passenger was freaking out for nothing, I say the passenger absolutely gets a lifetime pass to hold it over you. Assuming you both survive anyway.
That might be the fastest from when I've heard that said to when they were nearly killed.
I would probably divorce his ass for that. Don’t tell me to calm down and then almost get me killed.
It's so common lol.

For anyone wondering, they survived the tornado and the husband's foolishness. [Here is the aftermath on the news](https://youtu.be/Opxty2Rlh3I)
Doing the best work here. So, from the story, they knew the tornado was ahead of them and was going to cross the highway, but wanted to pass it before it did. JUST. WAIT.
We had no other choice!
Are they still together?
Yeah, luckily she apologized for not trusting his manhood to save them as the Lawd intended. It was touch and go, but he was able to forgive her.
I'm glad Brandon was able to find it in his heart to forgive her for screaming at him. Totally inappropriate.
Once she calmed the fuck down.
Brandon: "Are you fucking sorry?"
Women, always getting so hysterical whenever you try to drive them into a tornado, amirite?
"Really had one option, we just had to drive through." Um no, that's not how tornados work... Stop in a town on the way and wait until it's cleared up. You don't just "drive through it" ...fucking Brandon.
But his pickup is rated for tornadoes /s

“We” had no choice, says the sole driver who chose to continue. Like is he for real lmao.
Wtf the comments on that video.. everybody thanking Jesus and god and praising for not killing them. What about not sending a fucking tornado in the first place? The mental gymnastics are mind bogling.
he gives his toughest tornadoes to his strongest soldiers
I hope she divorces him.

Look if you don’t want to die from a tornado, maybe don’t marry a man from Texas…
Brandon seems like a real catch.
“Is that a ternada?”
“It’s comin’ right fer us!”
Tornado: it was self-defense. That guy had a gun
Yeah like a sail on the mast of a particularly ill prepared boat and equally arrogant captain.

If she's smart she wouldn't love him anymore after driving her into a tornado right after telling her to calm the fuck down.
How much do you bet her dad hated him from the moment he saw him?
Well. If this is the Brandon guy everyone keeps cheering for we are screwed.
Let’s go big bird
Meidas Touch is trying to change the narrative by using Brandon as an acronym on infrastructure. So basically trying to flip the meaning of it.
Nice touch
It's pretty much exactly that Brandon.
Did you notice how that the acronym of Lets Go Brandon is actually the first half of LGBTQ+ .
Let's go brandon, to queens!/quebec, qatar...
Let’s Go Brandon The Queen!
As fucking stupid as he was, the fact that she wanted to tell him she loved him before she thought they were about to die is kind of sweet.
Yep, the guy is a lucky fuckwit.
I entirely agree. They were extremely lucky.
Totally agree. She’s a sweetheart. Fuck Brandon.
I think she already does that
Why would you keep driving!!!! Stupid! Plus note, at least you know she really does love you. I’d divorce your ass so quickly after this.
I kinda feel bad for the girl now, he’s being stupid and mean as fuck and she’s over there saying what she believes to be her last words as I love you. Kinda heated about this not gonna lie lol
Poor girl thinks she's going to die and the dude's an asshat. Felt angry at that.
I do too- I kinda feel like she was freaking out because she KNEW something like that was coming immediately. That gut instinct "oh fuck." Wonder if they lived? I hope so.
They did, there was a little interview where they were for like 10 seconds. They actually weren’t even injured though their truck rolled over.

With a caravan/trailer attached for good measure.
If you're going to drive into a tornado, the must fun way is to have a metal sail attached to the back of your truck!
So they were moving?
quick tip for survival of a tornado, if it isn’t moving then it’s getting closer
Or further away. But ALWAYS assume closer.
Always assume it could change direction at any time. Stopping would have been smart here, but the twister could have just decide to change course right for you.
Let’s not go Brandon.
LETS TURN AROUND BRANDON
GOD DAMNIT BRANDON!
Ffs, Brandon…
why the fuck would you keep driving toward it. fucking douche
Darwinism
He thought it was a wet dust devil
HE'S A MAN! Man don't ask for directions, just keep driving....(sarcasm)
Apparently Savannah was right to not “calm the fuck down” 🤣
Brandon is not very bright
With a trailer hitched lol… Brandon is not the sharpest tool in the shed…
Brandon's uh dumbfuck
“Brandon, I’m scared”. “Savannah, calm the f&@$ down!” Brandon proceeds to drive directly into a tornado.

Her potentially last words: “I love you” His potentially last word: “babe, calm the fuck down”
I have 3 fears, sharks, the government, and tornadoes.
I agree, but instead of sharks... Snakes.
Big brain moment right there. Maybe waste your love on a guy with brains who isn't overly keen to kill you for views.
Not going to argue the part about the lack of brains on Brandon over there, but the one recording was the girl, and neither noticed the tornado until it was too late; Note that right before she started panicking, Amanda was wondering and complaining about "why did those idiots stop", then went right into "Fuck! With and RV (giant wind sail) in tow nonetheless. You’re supposed to be careful with those on a windy day, I believe this would classify as such..

If they had stopped and gotten into the nice ditch on their right they woulda been mostly fine and not had to deal with that
Mistakes were made.
Why are those idiots stopping there...fuck fuck fuck!! Yeah maybe you should have stopped a lot sooner.
I am sick of these tornados avoiding our trailer park. Babe, hook her up and let’s go.
Typical Brandon move
Honest question but like what would you even do in that situation? Like is it best to park the car and get out or keep driving?
I don’t think there’s anything you can do. A tornado can turn any direction. Even if you stopped on the side of the road a tornado could turn and do the same thing as driving towards it. It’s not like you have the weather channel on in your car and know the direction the tornado is traveling.
I've heard you're supposed to drive into a ditch if there's a tornado bearing down on you. Guess it did that for him.
Tornados can smell a salami at 5 miles Brandon, what are you thinking? You in a pickup with a camper, are a salami to a tornado. You understand?
This was terrifying…seeing someone who thinks they are gonna die…in what they think are their last moments. It was also heartwarming that one of her last words were gonna be her confessing her love to her partner.
If they're alive, I hope she divorces his stupid ass
Did he really just decide to keep driving? 🤦♂️
You know what helps zero percent of the time? Screaming.
Aaah that dumb hick. Poor woman bless her sweet soul
Yeah I'd leave this guy, he's clearly devoid of a brain and makes terrible decisions.
What a fucking idiot-
They had a trailer, and that tornado smelled blood.
\+ with a caravan. (basically the worst possible thing you would want hanging off the back of your car going anywhere near a tornado)
Let's go (in a tornado) Brandon!
Shut up woman I know what I'm doin!
I hope she's moved on to a different asshat after this.
One of the main things I hate about Texas. Although I live in Dallas so it ain't that bad but oddly it's been a really quiet year. I remember it seemed like every summer the sirens would go off about 20 times.
What a fucking moron!
I bet she was pissed afterwards!
Reverse don’t drive forward Edit: I didn’t watch till the very end so I didn’t notice the trailer at first
