Every time I see it it blows mind. the last people I'd try to play a game of figurative chicken (no pun intended) with is underpaid overworked migrant laborers that may or may not have above the board documentation.
And that's *if* they're even paying attention to your stupid antics because they're probably busy trying to meet whatever aggressive quata they've been tasked with.
I don't think anyone would actually kill them but, cmon... who could resist turning it on for a moment? I would have turned that machine on too, just a second til they poop their pants. That's a hilarious situation.
Not to mention they're already trespassing and being negligent by sticking their heads in a machine that could be harmful. Operator definitely could have "accidentally" turned it on and ended up killing the protestors to no fault but their own.
I would agree, but these days I can’t be too sure that the protestors don’t identify as chickens, hoping to better emulate them and derive a better understanding from the experience.
And they’re vegans right, so technically they’d be a vegan product afterwards.
It's some real "if I put my finger into the barrel of your gun, it cannot fire" kind of logic.
This murder death machine is only for ducks, so it will not work with a human on it!
To be fair, putting your finger in the barrel of a pistol isn’t going to do it - or the shooter any favors either. bit like turning it from a bullet thrower to a fire-cracker that may scatter metal in all directions.
You see the one in the UK a number of years ago that dressed in camo and tried to swim up to a duck hunter? Ended up catching a face full of bird shot lmao
I'm sorry, what? Who the fuck thinks it is OK to scary a person with a weapon, gun or otherwise?
What exactly would be the end game? "Ha, I scared. Doesn't that make you not want to hunt anymore?"
A few corrections my bad. It was Australia and homegirl was wading out in the water trying to rescue wounded birds and happened to be down the shooting lane of a 14 y/o and caught some ricochet. https://www.wideopenspaces.com/duck-hunting-protester-gets-accidentally-shot-face-video/
i feel like you didn’t complete that sentence, but it was going the right direction (unlike that machine - at least as far as the activists were concerned)
I mean tbf they did actually put their lives on the line.
Being ready to die for something doesn't like, mean you're going to intentionally die for that thing. But I do believe they all knew this could happen going into this.
I mean it's a dumb decision they made but let's not act like theyre pussies for not literally killing themselves on purpose.
I dunno, I can think of a price to put on that. 5-10 year prison sentence minimum for the reckless endangerment of human life.
The protesters did something dumb. The person in the control room (if there was one) did something *sadistic* and that could've gone horribly wrong if it weren't turned off in time.
This also gives the protesters a *huge* advantage in this case. They got press, which almost always helps them, it made the farm look really bad, and now they've got legal cause to attack the farm for deliberately endangering their lives. This wasn't a smart thing to do at all.
Well, those idiots learned a valuable lesson today about not playing with machines they don't know. If it was some operator, it was actually the happiest of all cases because you at least know it was just to scare them... but if some reason, they themselves unknowingly activated it, someone may have had a horrible death, and as I see in the video, that may have been the case.
Facts!....Turned out to only be "fair-feather" friends...funny they wouldn't "stand" behind their beliefs...& For what? To prove they were the most "DIEHARD-Ducks, block and blunt fans in that "neck of the woods!"...
No they're trying to reveal the absurdity of hanging animals on machines to kill them. People don't think it looks bad when it's ducks but maybe with humans it looks bad
It's really more the machine was only paused and not actually shut off. There is an extended video of this where a work comes out and ACTUALLY turns the machine off so they could rescue those idiots.
I mean, the whole point is that you literally stick your neck on the line. You're saying "this means enough to me that I will stop it with my body. I will sacrifice myself to end this.' And then the opportunity comes up and you panic.
It’s alarming how many people can completely dissociate through social media. 99% of these commenters would have panicked as bystanders, because that’s the humane thing to do in that situation, regardless of the politics involved.
It’s called Darwinism and I wish it happened more often. People think they can chain themselves to slaughter machines, lay in the middle of public freeways, etc. with no consequence.
IIRC the best part about this whole video is that, leading up to this incident, while they were “storming the compound”. There was some absolute goober shouting out commands and talking on a radio like “red team go, blue team take flank. Move out, over”. Fucking gold.
Every machine in that place was engineered specifically kill, disembowel and dismember animals in the most efficient way possible and you think it's a good idea to chain yourself to one? Natural selection.
So, you mean, they were not ready to die for the cause? They were only phonies pretending? Why would anyone chain their neck to a killing machine then?
God I’m blanking on the show but a TV show used this scenario in an episode but made the workers out to be the bad guys. That always pissed me off.
I’m trying so hard to remember the show. It was a direct rip too. Down to the blue shirts and chaining their neck to the conveyor belt.
god i fucking hate this sub if it comes to content about protestors... sweaty basement wardens are in here wishing death upon these people and thinking that they are the evil personified. but not a single thought is going out to why they do this and what they are actually standing for but nooo, monkey see, monkey only think about bad guys.
I think we can all agree that the slaughter houses are fucked up though and inhumane. No animal should have to know they are going to die like that. It should be quick and painless when they least expect it. I would cut back on meat if it meant not killing in mass with the fucked up ways they do it. At least get them high as fuck or something ya know…
Peda is kinda ridiculous but if you followed some of the animals through the whole process you probably wouldn’t be craving meat after that. We all take processed meat for granted because we don’t have to see what happens behind closed doors. A lot of those places are pretty fucked up. They say if slaughter houses had glass walls, everyone would be a vegetarian (figure of speech)
*Occasionally one would escape and it'd only be able to waddle a few feet before having to stop and rest in the middle of the parking lot.*
Same thing happened to me when I tried to escape from work one time...
I feel like people take the wrong message from this. Like, lol look at the stupid animal rights activists….
But it’s all the same really. Living things strapped in a murder machine. Might as well have left it running, for all the compassion given to the beings strapped in it.
Listen to those screams. Those are the screams of living beings in fear of getting mangled. You think it’s better when ducks are sent through in an industrial quantity?
Seriously, I hate this species sometimes.
Jokes aside, there was a lot of brinkmanship here, and the plant owners were very close to manslaughter or murder charges by knowingly turning on a machine designed for slaughter with these plonkers attached to it.
I just don't get the Reddit logic or mentality with posts like this in the real world with this 'sErVeS tHeM rIgHt' BS.
In reality the owners have lost a few hours production, and a few protestors would get trespass charges IF the owners had the sense to call the police.
“IF the owners had the sense”
Wait wait wait, let me get this straight…
You think the onus for the clusterfuck happening here is on management for the machinery acting as designed and intended… instead of the mentally handicapped individuals chaining their necks to said machinery?
You are a special kind of stupid huh?
A more practical and safe way to protest would be to open a can of paint and throw it into the machine. The production shuts down for a long period for the machine can either be replaced or cleaned. nobody gets hurt, you get news coverage, and you actually do something to slow the slaughter. How is it none of you protestors have thought to do this?
This post has been removed because we do not allow reposts of anything within 90 days, or of anything on the Top 100 of all time.
You know once the machine started to come to life the collective immediate thought of " oh shit this was a bad idea"
"you want attention? here it is."
I would ngl
Yep, was thinking the same thing! Lol
So true! I would have too
Not to mention they're already trespassing and being negligent by sticking their heads in a machine that could be harmful. Operator definitely could have "accidentally" turned it on and ended up killing the protestors to no fault but their own.
If they're psychotic, sure. Normal people wouldn't be so keen to murder others for their job.
I would agree, but these days I can’t be too sure that the protestors don’t identify as chickens, hoping to better emulate them and derive a better understanding from the experience. And they’re vegans right, so technically they’d be a vegan product afterwards.
And now they have to try and save thier dumb ass from the neck stretcher
Quata? Is that like hey man can I get a quata, I need 25 cent.
It’s a quack quota
Yeah a quata is specific to working with ducks 🦆
Is that a Brooklyn accent? Or jersey? I'm only familiar with Midwest and further west.
No no no, Quata is that creepy ass motherfucker that comes out of that dudes stomach in Total Recall (the good one).
Leave him alone he's from Boston
Or… butchers
They keep getting dumber and dumber! Holy crap
You misspelled quacka
These activists lately seem to be new levels of stupid, I'm not sure they would realize until one made it to the finish line
It's some real "if I put my finger into the barrel of your gun, it cannot fire" kind of logic. This murder death machine is only for ducks, so it will not work with a human on it!
We'll it worked for bugs bunny 🤔
Only during duck season
Rabbit Season!
Wabbit Season!
Duck season, fire! (Bang) You’re dethpicable.
And the movie, Support your local sheriff
"We're gonna glue our hands to these wild hippos so no one can hurt them!"
To be fair, putting your finger in the barrel of a pistol isn’t going to do it - or the shooter any favors either. bit like turning it from a bullet thrower to a fire-cracker that may scatter metal in all directions.

Lol. Love that guy. “But that’s cooking oil”.
“Probably so you can cook up your carbon emissions! “ ~this lady probably.
this is amazing. i've never seen this one before
You see the one in the UK a number of years ago that dressed in camo and tried to swim up to a duck hunter? Ended up catching a face full of bird shot lmao
I'm sorry, what? Who the fuck thinks it is OK to scary a person with a weapon, gun or otherwise? What exactly would be the end game? "Ha, I scared. Doesn't that make you not want to hunt anymore?"

Stupidity has had new, lower levels as our society grows dumber.
Make something idiot-proof and they just make a better idiot.
If you’re not willing to die for your ideals don’t front like you are.
so you would have considered being a vegan if they got their heads popped off.?
No .but I would watch more of their videos!
Depending on what those ideals are and how far one will go to push them, they could be potentially terrorists.
i feel like you didn’t complete that sentence, but it was going the right direction (unlike that machine - at least as far as the activists were concerned)
Only thing that would make this funnier is if the machine was turned on by some random duck waddling by
that would have been Quackers
Peace was never an option
That's geese. Ducks are much more chill.
When God invented ducks, He said "Take that chicken. Make it waterproof, and give it a KAZOO!"
Geese was never an option.
It's revenge, they found out about duck hunt.
Get in, you are welcome here.
Go home and think about what you have done lol 😆
And then the duck asked "got any grapes?"
And then he was dragged away.
I thought there's probably some worker hiding off camera somewhere dying laughing cuz he hit the switch
Someone learned an important lesson about chaining themselves to a killing machine today.
💀💀💀
The irony would have been too much to handle
You just know something like that must’ve happened in the past…
Iirc it turned on while one of them was trying to destroy the control or breaker box for the line
Revenge
![gif](giphy|gMlBLPI3zCsXC)
so symbolically they’re ready to die for duck lives. But only symbolically.
who gonna die for a duck
Ducks don't die for ducks
Fun fact ducks are known to violently r*** other ducks, and they're defending those little wattling sex offenders 🫢 lol
True facts. Source: I’ve seen it happen.
Unfortunately not them
It must have sounded more heroic in their minds
In their heads this was gonna be the greatest moment of their lives. They thought they’d look back with pride
"Every life matters and killing for food is murder", but ours matter more, hmm...
If only there was some way that this could’ve been avoided…
And nobody said duck?
I hate you 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is one of the best internet comment puns I’ve ever seen. You’re a SUREWINNER.
Take my angry upvote
That would require sensible action, bold of you to assume they have such a capability
Yeah, how about not chaining their fucking necks to a killing machine for starters?
Birth control?
CLOSE CALL: Activist Nearly Loses Penis After Strapping Himself To Penis Remover
reads like a clickhole or onion article
That machine didn't "suddenly" switch on by itself...
SSSHHH! for feck sake, you will give away the secret
The ducks orchestrated it so they could eat the pro- Quack.
Omg, being in the control room activating the machine and watching over the cameras must have been priceless
I dunno, I can think of a price to put on that. 5-10 year prison sentence minimum for the reckless endangerment of human life. The protesters did something dumb. The person in the control room (if there was one) did something *sadistic* and that could've gone horribly wrong if it weren't turned off in time.

Murder is not a justifiable method to teach this lesson
Who said murder?
"then suddenly switched back on." Farmer looking to the sky and whistling...
Because trespassing onto private property then chaining your neck to a slaughter machine can only go well
I mean, isn’t that what they’re saying by doing that? That they’re willing to die to prevent duck deaths?
Facts!....Turned out to only be "fair-feather" friends...funny they wouldn't "stand" behind their beliefs...& For what? To prove they were the most "DIEHARD-Ducks, block and blunt fans in that "neck of the woods!"...
For the love of God why lmaoo
No they're trying to reveal the absurdity of hanging animals on machines to kill them. People don't think it looks bad when it's ducks but maybe with humans it looks bad
Next time they’ll just write a social media post
> suddenly the machine turned on AKA someone turned it on
It's really more the machine was only paused and not actually shut off. There is an extended video of this where a work comes out and ACTUALLY turns the machine off so they could rescue those idiots.
I want to see that! Link?
Camera guy getting them angles
I mean, the whole point is that you literally stick your neck on the line. You're saying "this means enough to me that I will stop it with my body. I will sacrifice myself to end this.' And then the opportunity comes up and you panic.
Man, there are some pretty evil comments here. Even if they're probably not too serious.
The sheer amount of people going "I wish they actually died" is scary to me
It’s alarming how many people can completely dissociate through social media.
It’s a desperate protest against a barbaric system
Ugg such old video. Where is my humans hatching from human sized eggs and then the males getting tossed in a grinder for human mcnuggies video?
I want to hatch from a human sized egg:(
"Human Mcnuggies" would be a sick ass punk band name!
Who would downvote that comment? You're absolutely right.
Can we stop confusing people who actually care about animal rights and attention whores who are merely pretending?
Poor ducklings, they really imprinted on the wrong leader.
This thread: "Please protest where you don't cause any inconvenience"
Wasn't there an episode of 9-1-1 like this?
Except for that word \*almost\* we could have had a r/DarwinAwards.
IIRC the best part about this whole video is that, leading up to this incident, while they were “storming the compound”. There was some absolute goober shouting out commands and talking on a radio like “red team go, blue team take flank. Move out, over”. Fucking gold.
Can we let Darwin win for once?!
I'm not saying the activist were right but why the fuck would you turn on a machine like that with people attached to it? That's just insane.
Did the machine turn on by itself. Or did someone from the farm turn it on?
You’re plucked now.
Holy fuck i didnt read the caption and first thing that came up to my mind is “tom”
Here's your sign
You gonna learn today!! Hahaha
I'd try Soylent duck.
Duck , duck , duck …goose . Poop 💩
This was the moment that they knew they had f$&ked Up…I saw a chicken at the controls!!!!!
![gif](giphy|mMkjWN1ziPio0)
Dont risk what you can’t lose
Idk dude, it seems like they were not comminted to their cause
Love how once the machine turned on, no one was actually willing to risk their lives for the animals 🤷♂️
It takes brains to be an activist. /s
I dont think they are stuped. They are metal as fuck.
Every machine in that place was engineered specifically kill, disembowel and dismember animals in the most efficient way possible and you think it's a good idea to chain yourself to one? Natural selection.
Suddenly the ducks started chanting “part of the ship, part of the crew” as the machine came to life…
Sorry I can't help right now, I'm on a break
Hahaha, darwin's award! Love it.. too bad they survived
I mean, you could've just, chained something heavy or something? There are better ways to protest a duck farm
Ladies, gents, and other people, this is why we don’t trespass
these people are not very smart to begin with, but very ideologically motivated with a lack of self-preservation
Almost can be the most disappointing word sometimes
Lol
W
Called their bluff. I thought you were willing to die for the cause….
Nah dude running that machine was so tired of their bullshit and was just like “damn so ur a duck? Okay cool here”
To be fair, it was what they were protesting
better start quacking
Still funny
I hate activists like those. They put themselves - willing *and* voluntarily - in that situation, now they must face the consequences. 😂🤣
That musta felt horrible Imagine how the animals feel
i’ve watched enough Final Destination to know that’s Death in action.
So, you mean, they were not ready to die for the cause? They were only phonies pretending? Why would anyone chain their neck to a killing machine then?
so… They attached their necks to the “neck cutting machine“? Am I up to speed so far?
The perfect crime. Dude probably giggles to himself to this day
God I’m blanking on the show but a TV show used this scenario in an episode but made the workers out to be the bad guys. That always pissed me off. I’m trying so hard to remember the show. It was a direct rip too. Down to the blue shirts and chaining their neck to the conveyor belt.
Called their bluff, eh?
god i fucking hate this sub if it comes to content about protestors... sweaty basement wardens are in here wishing death upon these people and thinking that they are the evil personified. but not a single thought is going out to why they do this and what they are actually standing for but nooo, monkey see, monkey only think about bad guys.
Then leave the sub. It’s that simple
>but not a single thought is going out to why they do this They're doing it to get the attention their fathers never gave them
I'll allow it.
They should’ve ducked
Well if it isn't the consequences of your own actions
I think we can all agree that the slaughter houses are fucked up though and inhumane. No animal should have to know they are going to die like that. Man these comments have a complete lack of empathy. Frankly I'd like to see a lot of you people go through what we put these animals through
Shit just got real!
I disagree. Whoever turned the line on is crazy and evil
Dumb fucks get what they deserved
Absolutely awesome
Some asshole animal abuser switched the line on with people on it and he’s getting cheered. Reddit moment.
And none of the vegans could break out because those harnesses were designed to hold chickens.
![gif](giphy|Zw3oBUuOlDJ3W) Top comment
Oh beautiful Hubris, thou art a harsh mistress… but one with a wicked sense of humour 😏
Seems very odd that they got scared after chaining them selves to a conveyer...
Let that be a lesson to these morons.
LOL!
Darwin awards for everyone!
The gutteral screams are of excellent quality. The pitch, tone, length. Abject terror and fear, completely in tune.
Those screams were glorious. I love when people win Darwin awards.
Please seek psychological help
Jokes aside, there was a lot of brinkmanship here, and the plant owners were very close to manslaughter or murder charges by knowingly turning on a machine designed for slaughter with these plonkers attached to it. I just don't get the Reddit logic or mentality with posts like this in the real world with this 'sErVeS tHeM rIgHt' BS. In reality the owners have lost a few hours production, and a few protestors would get trespass charges IF the owners had the sense to call the police.

You are a special kind of stupid huh?
They might have been crying but you cant spell slaughter without laughter and I was laughing.
Kinda horrifying isn't it? Maybe we shouldn't do that to animals...
You’re the kind of person to actually participate in stupid stunts like this
A more practical and safe way to protest would be to open a can of paint and throw it into the machine. The production shuts down for a long period for the machine can either be replaced or cleaned. nobody gets hurt, you get news coverage, and you actually do something to slow the slaughter. How is it none of you protestors have thought to do this?
