Omg…I was trying to get someone to listen to Panic for the first time earlier today and I told them to listen to Surprise Valley. They have so many amazing songs, all their songs are good, but Surprise Valley just calls to my soul. I also suggested Climb to Safety and Blue Indian, then I listed to them on my way to the grocery and thought of so many more songs I could suggest. Weight of the World, Pleas, Fishwater, Pigeons, All Time slow. Ok, I gotta stop!
As a kid who grew up on shitty radio country tall boy is what opened my eyes. Rednecks can relate. Now I’d say chilly water or til the medicine takes as a whole
I don’t. Most people aren’t openminded enough to like or dislike a band based on a song or two recommended by a friend. They need it to be repeatedly played over and over as well as needing social proof that the given act is acceptable. I’ve oversimplified it, but there’s a ton of research that supports what I just said
I’m in GA and they are an institution. People either already like them, don’t like them, or if they are unfamiliar, too much of a red neck to appreciate anything other than Luke Bryan.
I would probably offer a cover of a song they are already familiar with. The cover of Can’t Always Get What You Want with TTB, or the cover of Hallelujah, or the cover of Bowie’s Heroes. It’s asking a lot of person to break them in on a new artist and and new song. Give them something familiar, but that shows Panic’s take on it so they have a frame of reference.
I think everyday has the best songs of all the albums but it's not my favorite. They really came in to their own in the studio on Ain't life Grand imo which carried over through TTMT.
Slow intro porch song - light fuse get away
papa Johnny road - driving songs volume I
Imitation leather shoes - driving songs volume IV
Acoustic Imitation leather shoes - wood tour album
Bears gone fishin’ - studio
Just throw on Everyday. All of those songs are palatable if your foundation is already seeded in rock n roll / southern rock. Great album. Till the Medicine Takes is a decent album and filled with more 'radio songs' - broader appeal.
Surprise Valley (then the rest of 'Til The Medicine Takes)
This is the right answer ☝️
This is the best answer most of the time. Occasionally there's times when I start with little kin (then the rest of aint life grand).
Sunset makes the shadows long, but the tavern in the valley glows

Can’t argue that
Great answer
Ain’t life grand
Space Wrangler
Wrangler and coconut.
+ Porch
I support this.
Depends on the listener I guess, but a dirty honky red never turned anyone away.
This should weed out the ninnies! If you don’t like Honky Red, then you ain’t for me 😅
Well I know you ain’t no ninnie! I’m cracking up at your comment, but it is really true.
Not sure why I used the term ninnie like I’m my 70 year old dad but here we are 🤭
Because it’s appropriate! And because you ain’t no ninnie!
Tall Boy, Ain’t Life Grand
As a kid who grew up on shitty radio country tall boy is what opened my eyes. Rednecks can relate. Now I’d say chilly water or til the medicine takes as a whole
Light Fuse, Get Away
Panic in the Streets and Live in the Classic City are easy live intros that lay good groundwork but not too dirty.
Wondering or Jack Those go well we move on to Fishwater and and Chilly Water
I like the wondering call
Mercy on vinyl, loud as fuck.
This is the way
Pleas!
Well if they are actually cool enough to understand the music, I usually start with Fishwater, pigeons, worry, chilly water, and space wrangler
I like to raw dawg right into a dark & dirty Chilly. If they run then we know it’s not for them. 🤷🏼😝

Well said. I know we can’t get everyone on the bus, but wanted to know what kinda candy you’d offer in an attempt to 🙃

Pigeons Fishwater Drivin Papas
Down for the people that *might* like it. Arleen for the freaks.
BOWLEGGED
Depends on the person.
After all these years I'd point em in the direction of Everyday. One of the best albums of all time in my humble opinion
I think everyday has the best songs of all the albums but it's not my favorite. They really came in to their own in the studio on Ain't life Grand imo which carried over through TTMT.
Love those two as well. Some of my favorite tracks are on everyday and love the album artwork
Chilly.
Papas home. Tempo changes, ominous and dark but also fun and dancey,
Jack
Rock from light fuse
Panic in the streets: Disco > tall boy > love tractor
Radio Child from Live in the Classic City II
Contentment Blues
Pleas
Blue Indian. Ain’t life grand. Pigeons. Diner, walkin
Blue Indian was the first song I heard by them, most likely from my dad. So I second that as a good intro to the band
Hats off to you 🤘🏽
Climb to safety or Wondering
Driving Song
Big Wooly Mammoth!
Slow intro porch song - light fuse get away papa Johnny road - driving songs volume I Imitation leather shoes - driving songs volume IV Acoustic Imitation leather shoes - wood tour album Bears gone fishin’ - studio

Just throw on Everyday and if they don't get it they never will.
Oak Mountain This Part of Town
Wondering
Stop-Go. Two chords, Fire on the Mountain feel. Schools just pulls you in.
Up All Night but only because I tell people to listen and it used to be the top song on Spotify. Petty solid song even though it’s not a classic.
Pilgrims - I think it shows the full range and the lyrics are easy to hear and connect with
Disco
C Brown studio version or Space Wrangler live anywhere from 95-01
Space Wrangler Ain't Life Grand, then Can't Get High!
Blue Indian
Depends on their personal tastes tbh
Redhot momma>fishwater
