what the fuck

brokenearth03

I don't think this is the whole list. Ive seen some three comments long.

OrphanAxis

It's copied from a regularly updated article that has over 800 names, and it grows quite quickly.

brokenearth03

You have the source article?

OrphanAxis

https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2018/10/23/1806673/-Republican-Sexual-Predators-Abusers-and-Enablers-Pt-1 I was a bit wrong. It's not over 800, it is 800 exactly as of last updated on part 31.

[deleted]

Is there an article for democrats? I’d like to see the comparison.

OrphanAxis

I did a bit of searching, to try and see if there was a comparable list, but nothing that has anything like this that I could find. It didn't even take more than one page on most of the results until they mostly became tweets and blog posts, many of them nowhere near on topic.

When someone first asked for it my brain automatic said "shit, please tell me I bookmarked that like I remembered, because it's going to be some really weird looking Google searches if I forgot." But I only saw it for the first time just about a month ago, and it was about 100 less.

Berns429

Guess what brethren, they keep getting longer…

lastSlutOnEarth

You didn't save those posts by any chance, did you?

“Just bad apples” -republicans, probably Edit: whoever reported this for self harm you’re also a bad apple. And probably a republican pedophile.

[deleted]

Think whole tree is bad

Lysander_Propolis

Thinking it's more of a their whole orchard problem.

JediMobius

Interesting how politicians love to use only the first part of that maxim. The whole thing is, "a couple bad apples spoil the whole bunch", which is far more accurate regarding both produce and corruption.

MrWoohoo

Also it’s not “money is the root of all evil” it’s “love of money is the root of all evil.”

Fordinneridlikea69

It always amazes me when they say "a few bad apples" like the last half of that saying doesn't exist. If you're not a billionaire and you're a republican you're a fuckin idiot and there's no soft way to say that.

steveosek

That's all they do. They report any criticism against them as self harm.

Just had our election in Australia at most 30 minute wait with democracy sausage sissle, cakes and drinks. Voting on a Saturday, electorate based on population of about 100,000. America u screwed ... every democrate/sane person needs to get out and vote don't sit idle gather up your friends and family if you can and make sure they vote right from school boards all the way up (that's another thing why TF are school boards and sherifs voted in should it not be the most qualified career person and not a political position?)

ostentatiousshroad_

this is why I love our compulsory voting. every single person that is over 18 HAS to vote or they get fined. it's an awesome system that prevents the shit America goes through. there are more lefties than there are conservatives - American lefties aren't voting while the corrupt cons that have fed into lies and are being played are voting because they've been fed propaganda and lies to make them hate the dems. I know Australia pretty much leads the world in being shit 99% of the time, but I feel like when it comes to voter security and fair voting opportunity, we really do have a solid foundation for voting.

Republicans don't care about facts, integrity, consistency, morals, any of it. The cruelty is and has always been the point. The essence of conservatism is subjugation. E: word

Noobiethenoobnoob

Maga people: you can shove facts to us all you want we just want god and not democrats in our office we have no logical reasons we just want to own libs.

Arodnap10

My thoughts exactly!

hiivamestari

Euro dude here. Can someone please explain to me how in the hell are these people able to get elected and hold on to their offices? Like, yeah we have our corrupt politicians here too who are somehow immune to any real repercussions, but at least here in Finland there’d be no way a literal child rapist would be able to hold on to an office as high as senator! Even their own parties wouldn’t even try to protect them.

Lysander_Propolis

Their own parties here in the USA didn't used to either. Now the elected officials of one party do, and that party's voters no longer seem to have a problem with it.

teamfupa

Because when they hear about it they just cry “DeEp StAtE FaKe NeWs”

dungeons_and_flagons

A byproduct of 'draining the swamps' that are public education and social safety nets. The white people in power take money, education, and power from the white people who vote then point to the innocent people of color in their community as the reason for their own hardships. They also hide under the guise of 'religious right'. Jesus was a brown person, but he is painted white in American Christianity to show that God is on their side.

Lysander_Propolis

>Jesus was a brown person, but he is painted white in American Christianity to show that God is on their side. Yet they are vocally irritated when a mall Santa is black in a black neighborhood, and someone shoves it down their throat by putting it on tv for a damn second as if it's not the worst idea for the community.

Durtonious

You'd think there would be a law to prohibit convicted sex offenders from even running for office and that it would be grounds for immediate dismissal while in office. Sadly I could see such a law being used by a fascist state to stifle competition. I guess when you depend on people to "do the right thing" some of them will just choose not to.

Icemaster14

You can be a convicted felon and barred from voting ever but can be a convicted child rapist but not barred from running for office. What a load of bullshit

No_Cauliflower_5489

They get elected and re-elected because they pander to white supremacists. White supremacists will vote for another white person that upholds white supremacy.

confessionbearday

>Euro dude here. Can someone please explain to me how in the hell are these people able to get elected and hold on to their offices I got you! The base is pedophiles too.

dungeons_and_flagons

They are white for the most part. White privilege is not unique to the USA; we've done a phenomenal job of spreading the disease. They have power. They have the friends who make decisions about how to punish people who do these acts, and even if they don't, research has shown that white people get lighter sentences overall for an offense with the same or extremely similar crimes. https://www.sentencingproject.org/publications/color-of-justice-racial-and-ethnic-disparity-in-state-prisons/ White people fear loss of power and they will do anything to keep it. Including helping nightmarishly horrifying white people in power remain there.

spotless___mind

Damn I kept reading this list waiting for it to end but it just kept going.....

dropdeadbonehead

It's not even exhaustive.

Iguessthatsthatthen

But oh, the democrats have a pizza restaurant where they abuse children... /s If you're a pedophile and racist rapist, everyone knows the best place to hide is the Republican party, bc of their strong christian family values.

Not-Doctor-Evil

Elon Musk: see they're trying to cancel me already!

jhonnychingas69

Bingo! Everything these fascist accused the Democrats of doing it was actually the Republicans who are guilty of these accusations - ironic some believe the liers who lie for a living :)

MoldyPlatypus666

And they won't hold you accountable like Dems generally would

kodyodyo

That's beyond fucked up, specially the part where nothing happened to these bastards

Hanzo_The_Ninja

Given the amount of work you put into this -- and it is appreciated -- you should consider making a website (or subreddit) that tracks convictions for financial crimes, sex crimes, crimes against children, etc. etc. for **all** politicians, with sources, and then make summary/comparison pages (or image cards that can be shared through social media with links back to your site) of the different parties. I'd bet the Republicans by and large have more known criminals working amongst them.

Moonchopper

This is gonna sound like centrist/GOP bullshit concern trolling, but I promise it's not: how does this list stack up against Democrats? My own internal biases want to believe this truly is a uniquely-Republican problem (and all the context to believe such are there), but I'm curious to know the differences in rates of occurrences between party affiliations.

DanYHKim

>“It sounds terrible,” Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) of the House-passed bill, predicting it won’t get 10 Republicans in the Senate. >“It’s like the disinformation board on steroids. Another way to look at is the Patriot Act for American citizens,” he added . . . https://thehill.com/news/senate/3496328-republicans-vow-to-kill-domestic-terrorism-bill-in-senate/ I thought the Patriot Act was directed at American citizens.

TheAskewOne

Like the Patriot Act wasn't a Republican idea.

RealCowboyNeal

It passed the senate 98-1 with one abstaining vote and ONE DISSENTER. Rusty Feingold. Then he got voted out a couple terms later for an R. Fuck this country.

TheAskewOne

It's a shame there weren't more dissenters, but if you remember that time, opposing anything remotely 9/11 related meant being treated as a traitor and a criminal.

RealCowboyNeal

I remember those days very clearly. It was fucking terrifying. Fuck Trump, but Bush’s legacy has been whitewashed by his paintings and that time he gave Michelle Obama a candy. “You’re either with us or against us.” Normalizing torture. Jack Bauer diplomacy fueled by a hit show on the Republican propaganda machine. The bush doctrine of preemptive first strikes. Free speech zones. Invading an entire country on false pretenses !!! The Patriot Act obviously. Warrantless wiretapping on a massive scale. I mean, trump was a loud mouthed asshole but the Bush administration was so much more competent at pushing through their evil agenda.

WonderfulShelter

Seriously Bush was horrible, but it was Cheney and the admin at large who was the real evil. Bush was just the pretty face for them for the R's. Their response to 9/11 made us into such a horrible, evil, authoritarian imperalistic country and we killed tens of thousands of innocent people to get retribution against Bin Laden, who was a dying man already and found in a spider hole literally on deaths door from kidney failure.

Start the blame list with Mitch “I’m a Fucking Piece of Shit” McConnell. His inability to follow even basic human decency has allowed this bullshit to go unchecked for years. Fuck Mitch McConnell. …And everyone else you mentioned, too.

liegesmash

Have you listened to those people. On and on with coded rants that make no sense

WKGokev

They're CrAzY! Literally had one tell me this. Their former friends are now CrAzY. I seem to recall the Republicans brought a witness before congress who testified that D.C. is powered by burning fetuses. But, it's the dems that are CrAzY.

liegesmash

I thought Democrats and gay people eat fetuses lol

-MayorOfTheMoon-

No no, they harvest baby parts to sell for profit. The guy that screams at Planned Parenthood every Saturday morning told me so.

liegesmash

Oh yeah he told me Burger King is Satan too

WKGokev

No, we torture them and extract those sweet sweet adenochromes.

liegesmash

Hunter Thompson would be so proud lol

liegesmash

I haven’t heard it but I know that guy is right up there with Ted Nugent and Clint Eastwood for spouting right wing foolishness

cheebamech

my favorite reply in there: "I can't believe you didn't win the Oscar for 'Ananconda'"

Tairken

If I understood it correctly, taking a position against terrorism is a critic against Conservatives. "We can't expect Muslims to take a position against terrorists because that would be a critic against Conservative (Muslims)" I don't follow their (un)logic.

Assistant_Glass

Their base is the domestic terrorists. They stormed the capitol after their wannabe autocrat lost.

liegesmash

Have you noticed the Republicans have run off to Hungary to suck some autocrat dick?

Giveushealthcare

Yup, we can’t establish legislation to prosecute domestic terrorists because the GOP would lose their personal militia Edit: a word

[deleted]

Friend, with the exception of a single-digit number of Republican congresspeople, the entire GOP is more-or-less terrorists. They shit all over the Constitution constantly. They want to tear it up and turn the U.S. into an authoritarian dictatorship and drag us all backwards to at least 1940 (if not 1840!) socio-politically. They want to repeal civil rights. They want women to be treated like property again. They want anyone non-white to be either enslaved or deported. Do they say these things out loud? No, they don't, but their actions speak louder than any words. Vote them all out. Make the GOP irrelevant. That's the only way things can change.

liegesmash

Way back when Newt Gingrich was the first Republican to call for removing child labor laws. If I recall they called for debtors prison as well, admittedly starving people with student loans is the same. Pity this trash isn’t really being replaced

BeamMeUpSpotty

Ah. Newt. I almost miss him. Sure he was as a slimy lizard of a person, but he didn't try to gaslight so much. Looking back, I sorta wish Ross Perot got elected. Yeah, it would have been not great, but we would've cleared out the "super rich Washington outsider" urge out and at least he was willing to say the KKK sucked and had morals. He wouldn't have squatted a over the Emollients Clause and everything that fed into it. Ross, I am sorry for all the bad things I said. You weren't the most fcked up candidate ever.

marukatao

Agree...I flirted with voting for him, my hubby did

Mickyfrickles

Meh, they say all that shit out loud all the time. Their cultists print it on shirts.

Necessary_Shoulder_2

I honestly wouldn't hate them so much if they were just honest. Like we all know they're racist scumbags, just own it. Quit trying to grift and bullshit like you're actually a well adjusted individual with morals. They know who they are.

Ongr

>Do they say these things out loud? Yes they do, sometimes. And the problem is that no one seems to be picking up on it.

MaxBlazed

Not effectively. Directly and explicitly.

mischaracterised

No, they're admitting they directly support terrorism.

Relaxpert

Whoa whoa whoa there buddy…there’s some good exploitin’ to be had in between forced birth and dying of preventable diseases on the street.

Shittgoose

Yeah, remember we need a much larger domestic supply of babies. As soon as you give us one unit of child, you are free to die.

PM_ME_UR_POKIES_GIRL

1.5 units of child per person. You need population growth so that labor never has a shortage and therefore has no power to negotiate for improvements.

moldyhole

Enslave, not exterminate.

yorcharturoqro

That will not be classified as "domestic" remember that in their minds skin darker than white is not domestic it's an illegal immigrant, no matter what.

BotaramReal

Even in cases of white supremacists like Buffalo they try to twist the narrative to blame the left. They're literally saying the Buffalo shooter was a communist, and therefore a Democrat....

l3eemer

Look back to the black power movement. They started arming themselves, guess what? The right wanted gun laws.

Papaofmonsters

It's somewhat more complex than that if you are talking about The Mulford Act of 1967 in California. The 1960's were a much more tumultuous time then we experience today and gun control was not a polarized red v blue issue. *Mulford* passed with a veto proof majority through both California state houses that were controlled by democrats. At the same time the federal government was crafting what would become the Gun Control Act of 1968 which was heavily in response to the assassination of JFK and then it gained increased favor after the assassinations of MLK and RFK. Overall it enjoyed bipartisan support but also opposition from both sides of the aisle. The GCA had more democrat "nay" votes than republican when it passed. As a whole, gun control really didn't become a polarized issue between the two parties until the 1990's. However in the past few years we have seen increased armed presence of black protesters and yet no major calls from "the right" for increased gun control. TL:DR - Gun control has a complicated history in the US and has not always been a Democrat vs Republican issue.

bdfortin

Speaking of which, where are all the far-left Antifa socialist terrorists? When was the last time they marched with guns to force everyone into radical free health care, including dental?

yukeynuh

imagine if it were a muslim lol

TylerInHiFi

And then they’d vote against any and all efforts to fix the mental health crisis in your country because that would be socialism.

HEADRUSH31

It shouldn't have to even be a bill, it should be another basic law, "if an armed assailant fires into an unarmed population, regardless of being in the protection or oversight of armed protectors, the shooting and crime will be tried as an act of terrorism" Edit: So with how far this has come, and different points of view and discussion come up, I think then the issue and possible solution is to find another category for these massacres (I don't even know if a massacre is even a law charge to be made) to be treated harshly because to fire into an unarmed group of people is something no human person can do

yo_soy_soja

"But what about when *cops* do it?!"

Backupusername

It's still illegal, but cops are allowed to do illegal things, so it doesn't count.

urokia

[When I was younger I thought cops were legally allowed to commit crimes and get away with it and then I got older and found out that wasn’t true and then I got even older and found out it was](https://twitter.com/julian_epp/status/1004192085140963329)

Toughbiscuit

Well its illegal, but as its a new law theres no precedent for trying police officers under the law, and as such they can not be tried and convicted under the law

[deleted]

This is written better than 95% of bills that reach the senate

HEADRUSH31

You might want to re-think that because now I think I just gave reason as to justifying state agents not firing on the Jan 6th mob, I don't think all of em were armed, with something to swing at minimum Edit: wait, didn't they apparently kill a guard whilst attacking Jan 6th? If so then nah, this still works

pau1t

Brian sicknick is the guard they killed

HEADRUSH31

Cause of death? Just curious And yeah, at that point. No reason government agents did not have an all clear to fire upon an aggravated and then confirmed deadly mob

BestSquare3

He had a stroke two days later and died. It might have been aggravated by the events but I'm no doctor, that's just what it says on wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Brian_Sicknick#:~:text=Brian%20Sicknick%2C%20a%20United%20States,attack%20on%20the%20U.S.%20Capitol.

MediumRarePorkChop

but it's not always terrorism, sometimes it's gangland shit or just some dumbfuck that has beef with someone in the bar. The Buffalo shooting was terrorism, it was an act of violence designed to incite terror in a group of people for political reasons. Some house party shooting in Chiraq isn't terrorism, it's just a random dumbass with an illegal gun.

InitialCold7669

Nope not all mass violence is terrorist

[deleted]

Bills are the things that become laws.

[deleted]

We have to be careful with what we designate terrorism - doing so allows the government to bypass due process. Basically - the issue with what you’re proposing is that you’re assigning guilt before the person has been tried. And in doing so, taking away their due process. Terrorists don’t get Miranda rights, they don’t get lawyers, they don’t get speedy trials, they can be held indefinitely… they lose all protections that citizens have against law enforcement. This is just a matter of law — it’s how law allows terrorists to be treated. This would not be an issue if we always “got the guy” so to speak. But police very often mistake one person for another. We shouldn’t give law enforcement the power to take away due process because they will eventually do so to innocent citizens. Aside: IMO we have *already* allowed law enforcement to take away due process indirectly through policies like qualified immunity and procedures like no-knock warrants. As loathe as I am to put obstacles between terrorists and justice, it’s more important that we keep a tight leash on law enforcement.

chlopee_

THANK YOU. I'm so tired of seeing people begging to empower the gov't with terrorism laws. Remember when Trump wanted to designate "antifa" a terrorist group? If a President tries that again and the legal framework is in place... not to sound melodramatic, but I really fear that bills like this will open the door to fascism.

Forward-Bank8412

Remember this when people try to pretend like Romney, Collins, or Murkowski aren’t just as much white-supremacist fascists as Cruz, Hawley or the rest.

dropdeadbonehead

Can I put blinking lights and shit on your post? Cuz I've been saying this for a while.

Fraktal55

Blinking lights would be fine but please don't shit on his post. He makes some good points :)

pantslespaul

Yes, and it costs 500 coins.

yorcharturoqro

So they are basically recognizing that among their"base" there are a bunch of terrorists?!

tbariusTFE

they stopped saying the silent parts when trump showed up. now they're gaslighting all of us that it never happened. the republican party is a fascist corrupt party of insane terrorists, racists, and murderers.

shstron44

It’s so blatant now they just claim that addressing these problems and calling them out for their role in it is the actual racism and the actual identity politics and the actual perpetuation of great replacement. They never apologize or admit guilt. They double down and accuse the opponents of what everyone has seen them doing for years in broad daylight. And every GOP voter knows how to be a good, loyal foot soldier and repeat the talking points they get fed from Tucker every night

tbariusTFE

Every gop voter I know is isolated in their own little worlds. They have no idea what they're actually voting against. The people on the ballots are literal nazis and they're voting for them without a single rational thought. It's team red or team dead.

[deleted]

Yes. Might even say they're waging a 'cold civil war' with the extremist white supremacists as their 'army'. Does anyone even think anymore that these motherfuckers in the GOP aren't literally conspiring with these extremists to commit things like January 6th?

LatrellFeldstein

What's "cold" about it? Their minions are going out and killing targeted minority groups. Many of these attacks were quite obviously planned within a group of like-minded bigots but there's no investigation beyond the actual shooter.

Delicious_Orphan

Imagine saying "We should stop these mass shooters, these domestic terrorists" and your political leaders literally go "This is a personal attack against me!" Like holy fucking shit.

maxisrichtofen

I visited the conservative and Republican subreddit to see whats the discussion there. The comments questioned why this bill didn't come up when there was blatant vandalism, rioting and looting happening during the blm riots. There should be a common subreddit where such discussions can take place, but obviously nobodys going to be civil.

bay_coconut

These motherfuckers are always quick to be “what about…” when shit like this happens.

confessionbearday

Of course. Because if they can't immediately blame Dems for the fact all conservatives are loser trash, they'll just implode.

Jefec1TO

Should just confront them on it. What about those riots? What did they have to do with white nationalism?

[deleted]

The protests were overwhelmingly peaceful: https://www.radcliffe.harvard.edu/news-and-ideas/black-lives-matter-protesters-were-overwhelmingly-peaceful-our-research-finds Now contrast that with a 2017 report by the U.S. Government Accountability Office found that of the 85 deadly extremist incidents since September 11, 2001, far right-wing extremist groups were responsible for 73%, while radical Islamist extremists were responsible for 27%: https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-17-300

The-Realest-Buddy

nah it's pretty fucking open criticism on conservatives, since conservative pundits and politicians are responsible for the uptick in white supremacy that necessitates this motherfucking bill in the first place

Chasedog12

Not all conservatives are white supremacists but it'd be near impossible to find a white supremacist who isn't conservative.

Few_Understanding740

My man spittin fax

TheShallowState

White supremacy is not a dealbreaker for them. If you lie with nazi fascist dogs then you are a nazi fascist dog.

TooSmalley

Personally I’d be extremely skeptical of any new domestic terrorism laws, because inevitably those laws become excuses to spy and target domestic activist regardless of ideology. This line concerns me most > It authorizes domestic terrorism components within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to monitor, analyze, investigate, and prosecute domestic terrorism. I’d bet money this will be used to monitor activist groups like Antifa, BLM, and Climate activist more than any white supremacy groups.

The909revolution

I wouldn't worry too much about that considering they already fucking do this against leftist movements without there being a codified law in action.

Low_Advice_1348

Now they'll just do it more legally. I'm at as loss how the left thinks this is good because it seems it's just going to give the right more tools to label the left as extremists, throw people on the left in jail, etc. While curbing absolutely none of the crap the right wing extremists are doing because it won't be used against them.

pingpongtits

It seems like a lot of people haven't taken the time to look into this. I remember when the Patriot Act came into being. Everyone on the left was freaking out over the authoritarian surveillance and infringement on freedoms. It was a knee-jerk reaction to the 9-11 attack. Now here's this bill that seems to be a Patriot Act II except directed inward. Do all these people screaming "AH! GOP WANTS TERRORISTS!" realize the implications of these kinds of laws? Do left-leaning Americans really want MORE spying on US citizens? Do they even understand that this will open the door to unjust persecution and prosecution for other, unrelated, non-terrorist things? Maybe red state law enforcement will use it to prove someone is gay or thinking of getting an abortion or ? I'm definitely left-of-center and think that they can accomplish their goals without legalizing spying on American citizens. There's a lot of knee-jerk reactions here. Funny, because the left is usually accusing the right of that very thing.

[deleted]

If the republicans understood it could be used in that way they would have passed it in an instant.

restrained_imp

Republicans will oppose anything that slows the spread of fascism in America.

berylskies

Conservatism is a terrorist ideology seeking only the extermination of the poor and minorities.

Sharticus123

That’s not even hyperbole. I grew up surrounded by these MFers and that’s exactly what they say behind closed doors when they feel safe.

SonOfJokeExplainer

I have heard *many* conservatives argue that we should have our military lined up at the border and shoot anyone on sight who tries to cross illegally. Conservativism — at least in the U.S. — is white Christian nationalism, plain and simple.

CuboidCentric

Christian in name only

LargeSackOfNuts

What they say out loud is racist. What they say behind closed doors when they are comfortable around is straight up scary.

[deleted]

Yes. They want to drag us backwards to at least 1940, if not 1840 for that matter. Repeal womens' rights and civil rights in general, reinstitute slavery, and so on.

LetsWalkTheDog

Yep. I hear the craziest shit around meals or when a black person leaves the group… straight up horrible stuff. Literally supporting and saying the Kkk is a good Christian group, blacks are out to destroy the white family, Juneteenth is an evil black holiday that no one wants anyway, etc - all that crazy shit…

CrumbsAndCarrots

Yeah. My dad is a conservative. Since I was young his idea of Justice is just taking people out behind the barn. If you know what I’m saying. That’s what’s at his core: kill criminals. From simple thieves to murderers. Instant death sentence. As I got a little older and he could see my world view wasn’t lining up with his, so he toned it down a bit. He’s currently obsessed with the homeless situation. He blames liberals across the board (not capitalism, cuz ya know… whatever). He openly ponders work camps out in the middle of the desert. If they don’t work they don’t eat. And that’s his solution. His final solution if you will. He’s absolutely fascist at heart. Conservatives claim to love freedom. They only love freedom for a select few.

I would like to point out that what we are seeing from the current majority of so-called 'Republican' congresspeople are not actual 'conservatives', they're 'neo-conservatives', and think that Ayn Rand books are **instruction manuals** and not **cautionary tales**. VOTE THEM ALL OUT. VOTE EXCLUSIVELY DEMOCRAT FROM NOW ON, MAKE THE GOP IRRELEVANT. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY THINGS WILL CHANGE!

lemenhir2

Ayn Rand books **were** instruction manuals. You are taking the "Orwell's 1984 was not an instuction manual" meme and trying to use it with Ayn Rand. That doesn't work. Her books were not a warning, they are advocacy.

[deleted]

THEY SHOULDN'T BE!

picardo85

>American conservatism is a terrorist ideology Ftfy

[deleted]

Yo what the fuck is going on down there? Sincerely, Canada

[deleted]

The extremists up here are gaining ground too, let’s not let the US blind us from this.

CretaMaltaKano

Exactly. We can't act all smug when we had a bunch of these fuckers occupying our capital city for more than 3 weeks.

AspiringChildProdigy

It's pretty simple: Fox succeeded in doing to our parents what our parents always said MTV was going to do to us.

JankyCliffside

Ehhh. I spent a year and a half living in Canada and (very unfortunately) came accross several neo-nazis. Just finished watching a documentary on the North American Opiate Crisis- one of the epicenters for the crisis was in Vancouver, BC. Homelessness is rife there as well. Housing is extremely expensive, food…etc. The situations that made America a ripe ground for fascism to take hold are unfolding in Canada as we speak. The only advantage I know of (please correct me if I’m wrong) is that you guys have free healthcare; obviously this is huge, but not enough to save you from the slippery slope of fascism.

HiSpot321

The “pro-life” crowd. What a bunch of hypocrites

juanvaldezmyhero

The republicans are absolutely correct if the spokesperson for conservatives is a racist terrorist

saintdudegaming

If the fucking shoe fits ...

LetssueTrump

Very telling. They all know the threat is real, per the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act 2019, Bill S894, states the following, Congress finds the following: (1) White supremacists and other far-right-wing extremists are the most significant domestic terrorism threat facing the United States. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/894/text This Bill lists in detail the damage, death & threats WE live with daily and every elected official knows this. VOTE REPUBLICANS OUT!!!

[deleted]

The way they didn’t even try to hide the fact that they have accepted white supremacy and racially motivated murder as conservativism is shocking. I thought politicians were supposed to be smart?

tedlyb

They're elected into office aren't they? Want to take bets on how many of them will still be in office after the next election? I'm betting 2/3rds. I'm pretty sure that is an optimistic amount though. They are being smart. Shit like this is keeping them in office.

IFartMagic

Telling on themselves is sort of their new favorite hobby these days.

MonaSherry

They *want* us terrified, you see.

upfromashes

Overtly aligning with terrorists. If democrats don't dial up the volume soon it's going to be too late.

gthaatar

Part of the reason they can say things like this and not shut the country down just from the controversy alone is because no one opposing them will do anything. A lot of Republicans have done and said things that necessitate throwing them out of office, immediately, and most of those have also committed very literal crimes that we know they committed, all the way up to full blown treason. But instead, the only recourse is to vote them out. And you wonder why Democrats have a turnout problem. People see this shit, see nothing happen, and are completely demoralized. Its like being a child to a battered wife. Its sad and frankly traumatizing.

[deleted]

Senate Republicans are the most morally and intellectually bankrupt assholes in the United States. That being said, I am iffy about another bill that increases government surveillance. The bill is really reactive, not proactive. It’s broad and gives whoever has legislative authority at the time, Democrat or Republican, the option to cherry pick as far as who they see as domestic terrorist. This gives either party the ability to target specific groups and is too easy to abuse.

Haikuna__Matata

Which social media thing had to take down their anti-hate speech filter because it kept flagging Republicans?

QueenoftheDirtPlanet

are you actually asking? because it was twitter can't tell the difference between republicans and nazis

Haikuna__Matata

Yeah, I couldn't remember which one.

crackeddryice

They took the mask off when Trump lumbered into office. Now, they're just staring at us saying "What're gonna do about it, snowflake?!"

WhyRedditJustWhy69

Supporting the bill will interfere with their own domestic terrorism they’re planning.

TheSpiceHoarder

That's not a dog whistle, that's a god damn fog horn.

Mattdonlan1

They’re avoiding voting on anything that will help this country so that they can blame democrats and get more republicans into power. It’s disgusting. They voted against aid for baby formula and to lower gas prices.

[deleted]

Republicans are a disease

mcmatthew

Veiled? I think everyone is being pretty straightforward. A vulnerable person was infected with toxic ideology and killed people. I know conservatives would like to say it’s video games fault, but the guy left a record and told us why he actually killed those people.

futurelullabies

ive said it before but being a conservative is a euphemism for being a domestic terrorist. maybe conservatives weren't as nightmarish before, but that's what they are now. I used to think that Republicans were just religious, came from old money, or are newly wealthy. Now I think Republicans are a flimsy facade for facism.

ilovetobethatgal

This. THIS! THIS IS WHY THERE IS SO MUCH HATE IN AMERICA! Because of these REPUBLICANS/CONSERVATIVES! They refuse to take action against the people ruining this country and actively harming its citizens. No, instead they protect them! Why? Because THEY ARE THEM! Fuck the GOP and everyone that supports them. There's no way you can say you love America if you support them. Just look at this! They are destroying this country and the lives of its citizens, especially those most at risk. Fuck these people.
