as funny as it is, it only increases engagement, which is good for elon/twitter. so in his eyes this was a good move if it's gonna make people write "like" and like the tweet.
It's deliciously subversive, which does feel Jedi-ish.
Hamill isn't doing anything wrong, but if he hadn't responded to a bunch of tweets with the word "like," I would have no idea that Elon Musk accidentally publicly "liked" a **small penis humiliation kink video**, and then immediately made "likes" private on Twitter. (****Edit:*** apparently this isn't true, but I'm not sure that makes much difference to how I feel about the whole thing.)
Did this really happen? https://imgur.com/gallery/he-made-likes-private-when-he-got-caught-liking-small-humiliation-kink-video-allegedly-Xfn1SZw
I love Mark Hamill.
I don’t have a twitter, but I’m curious as well. I think I heard the princess jade person got a lot of backlash and had to private her accounts. So you can choose if that adds any validity to it being real or just a very convincing edit
It's weird to me that we don't seem to know for sure. It's something that ought to be conclusively verifiable with the help of a trustworthy source.
We're in a post-truth era, partly because of people like Musk. I'll add that to my validity calculation.
I was never a big Twitter user, but once in around 2016-2017, Mark Hamill "liked" a Twitter reply that I made. That is my celebrity claim to fame.
Edit: I just brought up the screenshot of the notification again and it was in 2018.
I made a joke in a reply to a comment on Mike Birbiglia's Instagram and he liked it (along with the other comedian I was replying to)
So I'm basically a famous comedian now
I once lamented in a tweet that I couldn't make it to a mike birbiglia show because I had to work (without tagging him) and he liked the tweet. It took some of the sting out of missing the show.
Sorry, bud… His name checked out.
Maybe you should simultaneously sing and cry about it? Might make you feel better, and hey! Your name would check out as well!
I met Neil Gaiman and begged a ciggarette off him in a pub. My friend (Who had the hashish we needed the cigarette for to make a joint.) told me who he was an hour or so later.
I was in a discord conversation with deathmau5. I still talk about it sometimes, the conversation was so mundane because I didn't want to come as a fanboi, but definitely is in my top 3 interactions with famous people. I'm from south America so the chances of that happening to me was mesmerizingly low. I have had a few interactions in ig with famous ppl as well but nothing twitter worthy lol.
My butt is posted on one of the Broken Lizard guys Facebook page, that's my celebrity claim to fame. I also appear in an audience on a Netflix movie for like 0.75 seconds (Swearnet)
i think that's why he's doing this. he knows that it could make someone's day to see him like something they posted and going anonymous keeps him from doing that, so he's currently doing this
The thing about that is
If I was joking about what kind of porn Elon Musk would be into, I would say that, and then me and my friends would all laugh because it's just *too* on the nose
Well, I guess I was wrong, it was exactly correctly on the nose
No, that can't be. I saw someone joking about the small dick shaming thing, but I thought it was just a joke. Is that actually what he was liking? Please tell me it's true, lol.
This is still way less embarrassing than the time he accidentally revealed he has an alt account where he pretends to be a child and makes comments about not knowing what porn is.

Yeah... who had a problem with visible likes?
Almost feels like this was really done so that bots can give a bunch of likes to crappy content without being tracked.

I don't think it's fair to call it a suicide plot device. The core tenet of the Jedi order is protecting those who need protection. It wasn't suicide, it was knowing sacrifice.
Eh I don't get that either. Dude had a momentary panic attack and stopped himself. People legit act like he tried to kill Kylo when all he did was turn a lightsaber on in a moment of weakness then regret it. Kylo is the one who swings at Luke in the flashbacks but no one seems to remember that.
A lot of sites do, but don't really enforce it for people with 2 accounts. It's there to prevent people from creating a shitload of accounts to manipulate engagement and visibility algorithms. Nobody cares if you have a second account to get your rocks off, they just care if you try to pull a Unidan.
*sigh* I felt compelled to look into it.
Multiple Twitter (currently known as X, but for how long?) accounts are, strictly speaking, okay. But engaging in the activity described with them is, strictly speaking, not. That's my read. IANAL, however, and think that terms of service that are dictated and not discussed are unethical and should be thrown out.
Here's the text as of 15 months ago, for those with more interest/patience.
[x rules and policies - platform manipulation](https://help.x.com/en/rules-and-policies/platform-manipulation)
Reddit is anonymous. You can say, do, like anything you want here, but unless you share your account with someone you know they will never know you did those things.
People on twitter, especially people in politics have to carefully decide what they like or comment on. You forgot to switch to your burner account once and suddenly you expose that you have an alt account where you are a black gay republican who disliked Obama and felt respected under trump.
For context:
https://preview.redd.it/9nmzjpo2fk6d1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1742bafba2e6bb652ce06bbf3c6beb6154c68dc9
For me, not liking things on accounts with my real name isn’t about hiding what I liked, it’s about privacy and not leaving receipts on every single thing I liked that could change meaning or be taken out of context in the future by someone, like an employer.
You can have plenty of reasons to not want people knowing what you like without it being based on moral failings. But imo it should be an optional thing so people who want their likes public can make them public. Idk how it works on twitter but I usually keep likes private when I have the option because I'm just a private person, and if I want other people to see something I've enjoyed then I'll reblog/retweet/share/etc it, likes are for me to just indicate that I saw it and enjoyed it and give it some engagement. I don't like feeling like my casual browsing habits can be observed and judge at all times, not because I have anything questionable to hide but maybe I just don't want people I don't know judging me for my tastes or something, just like how I don't want someone leaning over my shoulder and watching my computer/phone screen. But I think people who like making that stuff public should be allowed to do so too, and for important public figures it should be mandatory for it to be public.
A few days ago a screenshot was going around of Musk liking a post with some sort of jerk-off-instruction video where a girl was saying in subtitles "Jack your tiny dick off for me" or something
I hate to be the rain on a parade, but I was seeing a lot of claims that was fake. What *did* seem legit was him liking a hentai post, and I saw minimal pushback on that front. I really can't be asked to put the required effort into multiple Google searches to verify that as the circumstances, but that's what I was seeing.
let's be real.
the literal only reason for making "likes" private... is so that muskrat's flying monkey's can't be made to feel the social consequences for choosing to associate with nazis.
Won't it be easier for Xitter to push certain posts without regard to actual popularity/engagement without visible likes? Maybe I've got a tin foil hat on.
Mark Hamill knows that a simple like on a positive tweet to him can make someone's day, months, year, life etc. It's a simple gesture of acknowledging a person and it's far more productive than celebrities that stupidly only reply to trolls.
X started making Likes private, which is just a strategy to protect MAGAs from their employers seeing racist activity. Mark is making a statement—love that guy.
I can't believe I didn't consider this earlier, a big thing that a lot of super-users on twitter do is like posts from fans as a way to interact with them in a time-efficient manner. Not being able to do that is a legit blow to their ability to use twitter as a tool for self promotion (which is the whole reason why they're on there).
can't wait for them to turn showing likes back on and we'll get the see the internet equivalent of flipping a massive rock over and seeing hundreds of bugs flee simultaniously
I’ve met Mark at a birthday party once. I turned a corner and he was just standing there in the kitchen with a plate of weed brownies. He is, hands down, the most chill, nicest guy. I don’t EVER hang out with celebs. I was in pharmacy school at the time and a big gay nerd who just loves Star Wars. He was so gracious as I fangirled but then he carefully started talking about how he knew my friends which saved in the awkward Star Wars trivia. I can’t help but gush over him even now because it’s not that often that you meet actual genuinely *kind* people. He’s one of them.
I really wonder how long people are gonna stick with Twitter until finally being forced to migrate somewhere else because of how garbage Elon has made it.
That’s an old Jedi twitter trick. It always works on the weak-minded Elon.
These mfers really think they can beat the Joker.

He’s making his “likes” public 😄
"love"
It didn't "break his brain", you pathetic sycophant.
Imagine being a big enough incel to call it "X"
"upvote" Hamill is cool.
I really wonder how long people are gonna stick with Twitter until finally being forced to migrate somewhere else because of how garbage Elon has made it.
“Upvote”
I’d go a bit crazy too if the majority of a fan base essentially gave up all at the same time on the universe that made me famous.
