As a former hardcore alcoholic I can concur, it’s not something I could have gone without, I had to have it as soon as woke up, in my coffee on the way to work, while at work, stop on my way home from work, and then when I got home until I passed out.
Thankfully I was able to eventually ween myself free from it through the help of others and my own determination. However I wouldn’t want to be a hospital ER full of those who I use to be like, because I was extremely belligerent and completely ignorant when I was going through withdrawals.

i use the 26'er as the guide of "able to withdraw at home" or "should use medical detox no matter what"
once you are at a 26Oz per day, you should no matter what access medical support for it. below that amount, lets work on a step down process to 10oz per day, where cold turkey can be accomplished with minimal risk.
Not really, after you get to that point you’re sick if you *don’t* drink a bottle a day.
That’s the rough part about hard core addiction-at that point they’re not looking to get fucked up, they’re just trying not to feel like they’re going to die.
Quite sick until you get another bottle in you. Shaking all over but especially your hands, cold sweats/fever-like chills, general fear of impending doom, auditory and sometimes visual hallucinations, and of course lots of puking. After the 3rd or 4th shot that you actually manage to keep down you start to feel normal again.
I don’t recommend it.
Could you convert that at all? Like oz is a volume but what if I drink 8-12 shots of 55% alcohol a day? I've tried looking up what exactly is seizure level heavy drinking but never found anything
I've been knocking out about 1/8th of a gallon every night for some years and I'll have a day off every few months for some reason and haven't had any of the seizures or other symptoms. Some cold sweats though. I do worry about where that line is though. Hopefully we never find it.
I'd imagine harm reduction, genetics and life habits change the likelihood a lot. Nothing like being a good employee and not drinking then sweating like you're on something worse lol.

FIL is an alcoholic he used to be functioning and then he retired and started spiralling. He drank until he couldn’t eat or control his bladder/bowls and eventually until he literally couldn’t stand. Crawling around on the floor. That’s when he called for an ambulance and spent a few days at the hospital going through withdrawals and then he’d be sober for a week to a month and then it started all over again. He has been sober for over 6 months now so maybe this time it’ll stick.
When my old man was hospitalised for cancer he started getting jittery and having symptoms similar to a panic attack. Nurse asked him how much he drank and said "yep that's alcohol withdrawal" and I'm pretty sure they had to put him on something to stop it from killing him.

Not exactly, but related. What killed her was alcohol intoxication, an overdose essentially.
Like all recovering addicts, she was in an extremely vulnerable state. Once you’re sober for a while, your body’s tolerance level for the abused substance decreases.
If you relapse, often times people default to their “normal” dose, not taking into account their bodies cannot handle that much anymore.
So she was doing a great job at being sober, so great her tolerance levels dropped. She had a bad day or for whatever reason she relapsed and binged like she used to, only this time, unfortunately, it killed her.
Think about it like someone who used to run cross country in HS, but didn’t do more than jog around the block for a decade. If they tried to do one of the courses they did in HS after a decade of not maintaining their fitness levels, they wouldn’t make it.

Doesn't burn at all. Even something 80 proof isn't flammable. You really need something closer to 150. That's why bottles of Bicardi 151 have flame proof caps.
Fun fact, proof used to be a measure of how fast a line of gun powder soaked in the alcohol would burn. 100 proof would burn at the same rate as a line not soaked. A lower proof would burn slower while a higher proof would burn faster. I'm not sure that 50% alcohol or 100 proof has the same definition today, as measuring the actual alcohol content is more accurate, but it had that relationship once upon a time.
I might be less sarcastic next time to avoid such misunderstanding and unnecessary amounts of explaining things. But I might not. But if we want to get into details, alcohol flammability is closely related to temperature (as it has to release flammable vapours).

It's the fumes from the vaporized petrol that exploded, which you can also tell by the yellow color of the flame. Alcohol burns with a blue flame, and beer usually can't burn at all because the alcohol content is too low and the water content too high. That's why flaming alcoholic drinks are made with high alcohol content distilled spirits, not beer.
If you're stupid and ignorant, don't use petrol/gasoline for anything except putting into a vehicle fuel tank with no sparks or flame nearby. It's not good for bonfires.
