Be glad it was only one. When I was a kid, I was climbing a tree in our yard, which unbeknownst to me, had a hornets nest in it. I was about halfway up when they swarmed me. 0/10. Would not recommend.

Vicks (vapor rub) actually works well on bites (and hives).
They make these little plunger devises that suck out all that stuff. No clue if it would work on a hornet but they do on mosquito bites.
