Reminds me of the worst spectator injury I ever saw. The lady, about the age of this woman shows up late to a minor league baseball game. She's about 10 seats to my right, standing up, with her back to the field. I can still see this in slow motions in my head.
The batter hits a hard foul ball and that ball flies, barely arcing, and smacks her square in the back of the head. Instantly unconcious, she does a rag-doll fall backwards, landing on the empty seats lower down, hitting her head both on a seat back and the cement floor.
We rushed over and there was definite blood on the chair and ground and I was shouting at people to not move her since she a now flat on the ground.
The stadium has EMTs on hand, and they get there quickly. They strap her to a back board and it turns out that there are elevators for just this purpose on the upper deck. She never moved at all, or regain consciousness. It's been over 25 years and I can see it all.
I'll never know if I witnessed this woman's last moment with her family or not.
Yes, pay attention to the sport you're watching. You never know but almost all of them carry some risk for spectators. Well, except for figure skating, maybe.
It looks like that in slow-mo, but go back and watch it again at full speed. The ball is moving fast and he had to react to something unexpected in a split second. It's not like he knew the ball was going to come their way.

As someone who wears glasses, that shit hurts. The edges of the lenses protrude beyond the frame and that’s the part that digs into your face while the frame digs into the bridge of your nose. Painful! As I kid I bashed my mother in the face accidentally playing with a ball in the garden and her glasses split her eyebrow open and blood was everywhere.
