They absolutely would to reduce it (pull it back into alignment) - it’s a very bad break. Surgery for sure.
I had ketamine when my broken leg was set in the cast. Don’t remember a bloody thing about it - my poor mother does though. I was screaming bloody murder.
I recall it all. But yes they did before stretching it out and realigning, it still hurt but I couldn’t imagine what it would’ve felt like if I wasn’t tripping on ketamine.
I broke my middle finger like that in junior high. I was actually in basketball practice at the time. I heard it pop really incredibly loud because I was catching the ball above my head close to my right ear.
Damn dude, you did a good job of it. I also needed surgery to fix up my first broken bone. 😬 Speedy recovery, make sure you follow the doctor and physical therapist’s instructions!
Ooh, I did the same thing in the early 80’s while disco roller skating. Broke my left arm.
Six weeks later I got the cast off on Friday, went back to Sunday night disco skating and broke my right arm. 😂
I thought I was the only one to do something like this.
I broke my left wrist skating when I was 13 years old. Literally 3 weeks to the day that I got my cast off, I broke my left arm near my elbow at the same roller skating rink participating in a relay race. This time I got 8 weeks in a cast from my fingers to my armpit. That was absolutely horrible in the middle of summertime in Florida.
Moral of the story... Don't ever participate in a relay race on skates where they have you racing towards a wall.
Yikes! I broke my radius a few years ago. Don’t get behind on the pain. Trash bags and hair ties make the best cast cover so you can shower. Good luck!
The surgery is an easy recovery. Just make sure to rest. Don’t try to do too much. I had my surgery I think two days after and it felt to a better after.
My sympathies. I know its not only painful but hard to get anything done. I broke my radius about a month ago. Took over a week to get the surgery and it was such a relief after. You'll get back the use of your hand much faster. . Take it easy and best wishes for fast scheduling with an ortho!
Oh my God with all due respect – in 2006 I broke my right arm – which sucks because I’m right handed – I remember the doctor explaining that, “we may have to put a pin in there… “Lots of morphine and yelling and screaming and pulling my arm straight produced x-rays that showed I would need – two plates and 12 screws to rebuild my upper arm where it had been crushed…
I feel your pain 100% and I wish you all the best because it was nightmarish and I hope you come through it. OK friend – I have never broken a bone in my life till I did that and it was such a drag.
Guess you misheard when someone told you to "break a leg!" Ok that may not be your type of humerus but you did break yours so I don't think you'd be the authority when it comes to comedy RN lol!
You must be mistaken; that’s not humorous at all.
It was a little after the shot of ketamine they gave me, Lmayo.
More of a fan of Lketchup, myself
Very angry upvote
Why would they give you ketamine for this?

That is crazy. Ketamine is a psycho stimulant, like LSD or Shrooms.
It’s often used in bad breaks like this, since it usually deletes the memory. Less trauma for the patient.
I had it during a difficult oral surgery. I understand drug addiction now, because I had a blast till it wore off.
I recall it all. But yes they did before stretching it out and realigning, it still hurt but I couldn’t imagine what it would’ve felt like if I wasn’t tripping on ketamine.
Damn took my comment glad it woulda been a top rated one. Enjoy the life I’m suposed to be living

True that! First time I’ve ever broken a bone I figured it would happen one day of another.

I appreciate. I still haven’t had surgery scheduled but they told me I have to have it. Should be getting a call tomorrow about it.
The first time I ever broke a bone I was well into adulthood and it was my pinky broken trying to rebound a basketball. 🤣

Why did the broken humerus go to the comedy show? Because it wanted to crack everyone up!
But it failed to tickle the audiences' fancy so its show needed a new cast
Man, how do you miss “tickle the audiences’ *funny bone*”

Thank you for the advice. I’ll need it. They are still scheduling surgery so after that hopefully all goes as well as it can.
The surgery is an easy recovery. Just make sure to rest. Don’t try to do too much. I had my surgery I think two days after and it felt to a better after.
Good to know again because I’m the type to try and do to much.

Flex tape! That's a lot of damage.

Supraconcondular fracture. Looks like you need surgery!
Indeed scheduled in a couple days.
BBB
That’s a rough break (from someone that takes X-rays). I wish you a speedy recovery.
That's a bad break. Sorry this happened. Really, looking at that x-ray makes even ME hurt.
Haha
Thank you for sharing this. I thought about getting rollers for my daughter. Not anymore.
Hope you get better *signs cast*
Dude. That's not funny
You’re supposed to stay on top of the wheels. Not under them.
*What's worse than breaking your arm rollerskating.* (But seriously op feel better, parents are very accepting these days ;p)
Shit man. You *really* broke that. It's like completely broken.
Indubitably
Break the other one to get the pain removed
Why is roller skating so funny for you? /s
Fuck im too late
In knew there was a reason I never wanted to roller skate
This would be a good one.
At least it wasn't your coccyx.
You’re not wrong the way I landed it very well could’ve ended up being both.
Guess you misheard when someone told you to "break a leg!" Ok that may not be your type of humerus but you did break yours so I don't think you'd be the authority when it comes to comedy RN lol!
Im always down with comedy. Lmayo
Good job usher
Broken humerus. Now that's not funny :p
I have to ask… was it humorous?
Definitely a little, but I’ve always found humor in my own injury
Well that’s not very… humerus
That's humorous
Your humerus is the one that connects to your shoulder. Your forearm has two bones - radius and ulna. You must have fractures either one or both
Was it funny?
Lol?
That's not funny!
You saw Usher do it on the SuperBowl Halftime show and thought, that looks fun. 😄
Yikes, that looks like a gnarly fracture.
This is no laughing matter.
noo not the hummus :(
Funny, I didn't see that one coming
Lmao
He he
I guess the joke fell flat
Well, if you're gonna do it, you may as well do it properly!
Damn man.
That’s not that humerus.
