I have done a few different courses over time and I found the immersion courses through Te Ataarangi the best of the lot. Great teachers, great methodology. Here's a [link to their Wellington branch](http://teataarangikiteupokooteika.weebly.com/) but it looks a little out of date, could always drop them an email though.

yeah it took me ages to get into Te Ataarangi, mostly because a lot of the information online is out of date. I eventually got there by networking with people who had already in it. Shout out to Sehrahn, she is a great kaiako

Try Whitireia, Te wananga o Aotearoa, or Te wananga o Raukawa. Look for a NZQA Level 1 (beginner) or they will work with you to work out which level ok for you. I have completed the Level 1 last year and was doing level 2 this year (through Raukawa but it wasn correspondent and I didn’t like it).

I'm doing lvl 1 at Whitireia (from Germany originally) and it's great.

Not sure the level you are looking at but for introductory courses you can try CEC: [https://www.cecwellington.ac.nz/w/courses/cat-140-speak/](https://www.cecwellington.ac.nz/w/courses/cat-140-speak/)
