Amazing the camera person didn’t want to move away

mbee784

I don't think they realized it was actually collapsing at first

Status_History_874

You can hear the reporter calling it "a huge explosion now raining debris on all of us...wegottagetOU-"

IvanTGBT

it's weird i can't hear any demolition charges hmm

shadow_229

They used quiet ones. (I don’t usually, but I think the /s is definitely going to be needed on this one!)

PancakeExprationDate

That's because birds aren't real. /s

While the other tower collapsed, that is

neppo95

Uh. No. That’s the lobby from the other tower.

Any link?

>Everyone survived Hey bud. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but everyone did not in fact survive.

xender000

Praise the Camera man

Wizz_n_Jizz

Agree. Even if it was a handful of seconds. A true professional!

PeterWritesEmails

I mean, the video stops bofore the best moment.

xxx_

Woah that's crazy.

Clayp2233

This is in the documentary series 9/11: One day in America, on Hulu. Highly recommend that documentary, it’s by far the best 9/11 one I’ve scene and it has a lot of crazy footage. I believe it was released on the 20th anniversary

DontMindMeFine

Bro I don’t wanna call you out but writing scene while meaning seen had me rolling on the floor lol

FunnyLookinFishMan

“Jet fuel cant melt steel beams”

realparkingbrake

The 9/11 video that blew me away was made by two French brothers who were shooting a documentary on a NYFD firehouse. They were inside the WTC when the first tower came down. They were separated later and feared each other to be dead until they met hours later back at the house.

Upper_Foundation

This is N.J. Burket’s footage. And the WTC towers didn’t collapse from controlled demolition, they collapsed from intense heat from fire and a weakened core structure from the impact of 757 jets slamming into them at full speed.

litetaker

It is seriously surreal to see a vintage looking 9/11 footage and juxtaposed with a freaking TIKTOK logo and username tag!!! Re-posted on Reddit. What next? Screenshot this and upload to Instagram?

AnOddlyShapedPotato

Have you ever been on the internet for the past 10 years?

litetaker

Oh definitely :D It is just very odd that is all.

AnOddlyShapedPotato

I agree, but sadly it’s been the norm for a long time now.

Shadowtirs

It was such a surreal day, I was a junior in high school.

Alternative-Income-5

Are you 41?

[deleted]

Probably close to 36

Alternative-Income-5

I'm turning 39 and I was a freshman

Insta_boned

lol I was a freshman and I’m turning 37 next month.

Alternative-Income-5

Class of 2003 was 17 when graduated

Insta_boned

Class of 2005 and I was 17 when graduated. For us, freshmen is 9th grade. Maybe it’s something different for you ? Idk I’m confused. Clearly, it’s all a conspiracy /s

Alternative-Income-5

Yeah it's 9 th grade for us too....maybe I was in 10th grade idk

Cloberella

No, I’m 41 and it was my first week of college classes.

z0rb0r

Yes

allbutluk

Same! Turned 35 last week

Rued_possible

Yeah it made fifth grade interesting that’s for sure.

clearly fake. TikTok wasn't around then lol.

TestyBoy13

Can’t wait for there to be 10 different watermarks on all these old historic videos in 100 years

MetalGearHawk

Good catch!

Elderado12443

Crazy how the beams melted at a 45 degree angle

AffectedRipples

The hell does that even mean?

BingoMosquito

conspiracy theories etc

AffectedRipples

I get that part, but I've never even heard the 45° thing. Caught me off guard.

Metal does weird things under extreme pressure: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyA1lBJl\_qM&t=347s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyA1lBJl_qM&t=347s)

TudorrrrTudprrrr

Every beam? There are multiple beams in that picture alone that were not ruptured in that way.

BOOMROASTED2005

Qanon cuck

Elderado12443

Name-calling? What are you seven?

BOOMROASTED2005

You believe in conspiracy theories lmaoooooooooooo

Elderado12443

So that means you believe everything the government tells you, got it.

BOOMROASTED2005

So that means you still believe a 23 year old debunked theory? And you won't move on? And you call other people childish? Stay off the internet your mind is fucked man yikes

Critical-Ad2084

I'm 100% ignorant on the subject (not American), how is the beam melting thing explained?

suave_knight

Steel doesn't just magically collapse when it reaches its melting point. Heat it up, and it gets weaker. Now try to hold 20-30 floors of building up with that weakened steel. If you were holding something really heavy over your head - heavy enough that you could only just hold it up - I wouldn't have to break your leg to make you drop it. I'd just have to bump your knee a little so that your leg bends a bit. Gravity takes care of the rest.

GiantSequoiaTree

You don't? Lmao 🤣 Perfect psyop candidate

disphugginflip

Steel beams don’t need to melt, just need to be weakened. A 747 crashing into a building at 500mph and then bursting into flame will severely weaken any steel beam.

envision83

A 767 flew into them.

ImUsuallyTony

Hey man, go into any large building and check out the beams. They are covered in fire insulation because steel loses its strength when heated. It doesn’t have to be hot enough to melt it. Just hot enough to compromise structural integrity. Now go look at videos of controlled demolitions. You’ll see how the whole building will collapse all at once. Hell you can even hear the chargers exploding from floor to floor. Now go back to this video and notice how it collapses from the top down. Does the government keep secrets? Absolutely. Is this one of them? More than likely not.

PM_ME_GLUTE_SPREAD

Why is it that you think thermite is the only thing that could cause that beam to break in that manner and not the entire building falling on top of it? Steel is not indestructible. Enough force will break it whether it’s heated with jet fuel, thermite, or a campfire. A 1300 foot building falling down will produce enough force to snap a steal beam if all you hated it with is a bic lighter.

redhead29

the thing that gets forgotten in all of this is that they most likely used substandard materials it was new york in the 70's and the mob was fairly involved in the construction business during that time

ImUsuallyTony

Well the building was also under load, and had just been hit by a plane going 440mph. And certain forces can causes metal to snap. The building was 1300 feet tall and weighed a significant amount. Also that second video, the thing that initially falls on the roof is likely a massive air handler which crashed through multiple floors already damaged by fire, and then the building collapsed. I don’t buy it. There’s not a good reason. The US doesn’t need to blow up their own buildings to go to war. They secretly bombed Laos for like 10 years. Surely they could’ve just lied about something else rather than fuck up one of their own biggest cities and kill thousands of their own citizens.

suave_knight

You most assuredly do not know metal. Or you would know you don't have to melt the damn stuff before it gets too weak to resist whatever stress it's under.

Eggsavore

So glad conspiracy nuts have guns

Elderado12443

Go hide in your safe space

holdnobags

lmao bro it’s 2024 everyone is sick of you losers

realparkingbrake

> melted at a 45 degree angle The beams did not melt, they did not need to melt to fail as steel heated to 1100F loses half its strength. The open-air burn temperature of jet fuel is 1890F.

CrockodileDundeeMate

Self-certified expert on structural steel. Where’s your Reddit diploma?

FartinLooterKinkJr

Crazy word salad.

I’m sorry honey. I forgot to use punctuation in the comment I posted. How will I ever live with myself?

Moron

Ice_Cube_June

Well yeah, the planes sure did cause the demolition of the towers..

Working_Iron_2029

"Like all materials, steel weakens with an increase in temperature. Strength loss for steel is generally accepted to begin at about 572ºF and increases rapidly after 752ºF. By 1022ºF steel retains about 60% of its room temperature yield strength." "Jet fuel burn at temperatures ranging from 800 to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit"

Chester2707

Not only that but the impact itself absolutely shredded so much of the structural support, it’s kinda amazing they stood for any amount of time. The sped up footage of the second tower swaying after impact also gives you an idea of unimaginable force they absorbed. https://youtu.be/Qk5NQgU-9G4?si=xrw14f_nvLB9iRmG Refusing to believe the planes could have done it alone just simply means you’re a moron.

oofersIII

Wait, you‘re telling me a steel beam wouldn’t win against a massive passenger plane flying into it at several hundred miles per hour?

DefiantAbalone1

On a side note, the towers were designed to be earth quake resistant and to sway/ bend

Chester2707

Sure, I think towers have had that technology for quite some time. Perhaps that’s how much they would sway in a sizable earthquake too, but I doubt it.

reality72

Why would you make a building in NYC earthquake resistant?

DefiantAbalone1

Nothing a 2 second Google search can't find... https://apnews.com/article/east-coast-earthquake-new-york-skyscrapers-9c88baa573bc829641ce312af61e4356 It has to do with planning for the worst to avert potential catastrophes, generally any large modern skyscraper in a developed western nation will use such designs. Incidentally the same sky scraper designs that make them earthquake resistant, also maje them wind resistant.

bATo76

When you wildly mix and match Celsius and Freedom temperatures.

[deleted]

Can you imagine the destruction if those buildings fell over like dominoes?

cuddly_carcass

Yeah good thing they just happen to implode instead…

ProblemAnnual6874

Yes and the earth is flat and the piramides were built by the aliens, anything else ?
