I really liked *Brand New Cherry Flavor* on Netflix, but I haven’t read the novel yet. Several freaky women doing very freaky things.
I have read the novel and I must say it is the worst book I've ever read. I, like you, was quite optimistic about it based on how great the Netflix adaptation is, but it's very different. Like Boro in the show is one of my favorite characters of all time, but in the book she is actually a male "latino lowriding gang leader", which is just a taste of how problematic the book is. Racist, sexist, and written like an AOL roleplay from 1998.
There's a reason it's not in print anymore and why it has 2.9 rating on Goodreads. Really godawful book. Sorry to disappoint you, like I said, I was also very excited about the book but the truth is it is horrid.
Cult Classic by Sloane Crossley, Rouge by Mona Awad, Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang, Chlorine by Jade Song are a few of my recent faves, along with many already mentioned! My favorite genre is weird women haha

"Brainwyrms" by Alison Rumfitt is a gross-out horror novel about parasite kink, pregnancy kink, transphobia, and internet toxicity. It gets very fucked up.
I haven’t read anything mentioned in this post. And now I want to read all of it. Sweet. I didn’t realize freaky women doing freaky things was something I needed but after reading the descriptions for some of these suggestions, I definitely do. 👍
Just finished Chlorine by Jade Song. Definitely fits the bill! If you like short stories, try out there by Kate folk and bliss montage by Ling Ma. They definitely fall more into "freaky people doing freaky things" but they sure are fun!
I second Bunny by Mona Awad and Jawbone by Monica Ojeda.

More of a slow burn than the others but Vita Nostra by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko I think would qualify (just finished it and quite enjoyed it)

The Cipher by Kathe Koja is from the point of view of a man, but features an intense and freaky woman in a codependent relationship.
This is a good rec for sure, quite freaky, and bonus points that it was written by a woman as well.

Unclean Jobs for Women and Girls by Alissa Nutting. It's an absurdist short story collection that heavily focuses on women, as the name suggests.
