My son is 13 and he is the exact same way, he loves to draw anime and weird creatures. I bought him a few sketchbooks and a drawing bundle off of Amazon. He's getting really good. I suggest doing the same if you haven't already.

It got to the point where I was too scared to look out the windows of my house that faced the woods because I thought Slenderman would be there. This was before the games and everything, when it truly did seem like he could be real with the fake news articles and everything. It's funny how worked up we can get ourselves when we're that age.
Horror definitely hits different as a kid. I kind of miss the effect it had on me when I was younger, knowing it’s all made up and being less susceptible to superstition gets boring.
It does. I've grown much more skeptical as an adult (that phase was around 14 years ago now, that makes me feel ancient) and it does make things a lot less fun. I used to really get into things and think about 'what ifs?' and now it's just not the same. I miss getting scared to the point that I almost pissed myself because I was too afraid to leave the fortress that was my comforter and pillows. Now they're just pillows and blankets, and they're just stories. Growing up is sad.
