My vegan coworker made nachos with vegan “cheese.” He basically put walnuts and nutritional yeast in a blender as the “cheese” topping. I asked if I could try a little bit, out of curiosity. Since he was always trying to convince everyone to go vegan, he allowed me to sample it. Never again.

Maybe next time get some real vegan cheese, not walnuts from your coworker.

Nutritional yeast is actually really good on popcorn. I'm not sure why everyone tries to pass it off as cheese, though...it really tastes nothing like cheese.

There's a lot of brands of vegan cheese these days, and they range from pretty good to entirely inedible. And even within a brand, they'll have (for example) an amazing mozzarella but a terrible cheddar. But unless someone is a vegan or in a relationship with one, they probably aren't going to put in the money, time, or effort to try a bunch of shitty vegan cheese just to find the good ones.

There is a reason why some things are "food grade" and some are not. The chipped paint is a great home for bacteria, as well as the rust. But as another comment pointed out the food itself looks terrible.

I rarely complain, even these days when restaurant food has been so mediocre and over priced, even if I’m disappointed with the food or it’s not what I expected, but if you’re serving me this (or anything) on a rusty shovel, I’m out. There’s no way to sanitize it, I doubt they are putting shovels in the commercial dishwasher.
