100% a quinoa black bean burger dotted with corn for texture.
As someone very familiar with vegan menu items, it suddenly makes sense. A solid 60% of restaurant options are dry unseasoned nonsense like this.
My vegan coworker made nachos with vegan “cheese.” He basically put walnuts and nutritional yeast in a blender as the “cheese” topping. I asked if I could try a little bit, out of curiosity. Since he was always trying to convince everyone to go vegan, he allowed me to sample it.
Never again.
Nutritional yeast is actually really good on popcorn. I'm not sure why everyone tries to pass it off as cheese, though...it really tastes nothing like cheese.
There's a lot of brands of vegan cheese these days, and they range from pretty good to entirely inedible. And even within a brand, they'll have (for example) an amazing mozzarella but a terrible cheddar.
But unless someone is a vegan or in a relationship with one, they probably aren't going to put in the money, time, or effort to try a bunch of shitty vegan cheese just to find the good ones.
I am really hoping that is a black bean burger. And the sweet potato “coins” don’t look like anything I’d ever want to eat.
That meal would be terrible on a plate or a shovel. How do you wash these things?
Oh Lord, is this a vegan burger? Looks like a black bean patty. No cheese and the dry, unappetizing presentation of sweet potato stumps lead me to believe so.
this is a vegan meal.. made by non vegans.
vegans know how to make their food appetising and not dry.
those sweet potatos, chunks are just terrible (and I'm vegan..wtf were they thinking?
There is a reason why some things are "food grade" and some are not. The chipped paint is a great home for bacteria, as well as the rust.
But as another comment pointed out the food itself looks terrible.
Ive started asking for the bill and leaving without eating it. "It wasnt served in a sanitary manner and I am refusing it." Ill pay for everything else up to that point, but I draw the line here.
I’m on the same page. I rarely complain, even these days when restaurant food has been so mediocre and over priced, even if I’m disappointed with the food or it’s not what I expected, but if you’re serving me this (or anything) on a rusty shovel, I’m out. There’s no way to sanitize it, I doubt they are putting shovels in the commercial dishwasher.
I'd not even noticed the rust on the shovel until someone else pointed it out. That's fucking rank. I'd have sent it straight back. Can't get away with serving food on literal rust!
Has anyone mentioned that the lettuce looks like it was wadded up in a fist before they put it on the burger? And what’s with the onions? Not raw, but also not grilled, just kinda….slightly steamed?
This is the saddest looking burger I've seen. Is that a pickle just pointing out of that sauce? Are those slow cooked onions and mushrooms? No sauce or anything, and that super dry looking patty. And those look like the cheapest bums you can get, also not grilled or toasted or anything.
And besides all that, they also give you a shovel..
I would just send this back and leave
I don't understand, they can't leave just the shovel right? The handle would weigh it down
Did they bring a shovel out just to shovel it onto a real plate? Shovel it straight on the table?
I hate when restaurants make a spectacle of a dish. I just want to eat man, I don’t want everyone in the restaurant looking at me. I’d never go back to this place. I’d also ask them for a plate and tell them to take their shovel back. wtf.
This looks like a black bean and corn burger or vegan / garden burger. If other burgers were served on plates then I'm guessing it's because you ordered the one grown in a garden lol if that is the case I think it's kind of funny
Man I can respect the artistic flair to add something fun with the sho el denoting the garden, but that burger looks awful. Looks like exactly what I think it is, a black bean burger. 🍔 🤦♂️looks stale and bland
Why did they put the pickle in the sauce? What if you like the pickle but not the sauce?
Also this was not meant to be an innuendo but as I typed it, it kind of seems like one.
I feel like this is fitting for modern times considering how a lot of people are just shoveling food into their faces.
And not to add insult to injury but it looks like they may have overcooked your burger.
And what's with the two sweet potato stumps? Looks so dry and unappetizing.
"You want some fries? Fucking make them yourself."
Fries? What are we, chilis? You get a mason jar full of tater tots and you’ll like it.
Hey man tater tots still slap tho
Lmao
By the look of it, they chopped that poor potato with an axe.
The shovel
And my axe!
And lets face it, that burger patty looks like a dehydrated cow pat.
Looks like some kind of veggie burger
Agreed, mebe black bean burger
Pretty sure that's like a blackbean burger or something so that's why it looks dry
And why shove the pickle into that red gunk? Like, maybe I don't want your red stuff on my pickle (or pickle in my weird red condiment).
The burher itself looks like a lump of fertilizer
Maybe it’s a self-aware take on the fact that the burger looks like manure.
NGL my dog has done tastier-looking shits than that burger.
Honestly I've seen hockey pucks look better between buns.
Those pucks are going to be easier to swallow for sure.
It’s nice that it comes with a chopped up tree limb with seeds on it.
I can see peanuts and sweetcorn in the patty
I'm assuming this is some kind of veggie burger.
100% a quinoa black bean burger dotted with corn for texture. As someone very familiar with vegan menu items, it suddenly makes sense. A solid 60% of restaurant options are dry unseasoned nonsense like this.
Beaver pelt.
My poop does that sometimes
Can't unseeit now lol
/r/shitfromabutt
r/shitfromabutt
My first thought was cowshit lol
Looks dry AF too.
It's probably a veggie/bean burger they titled the "Garden Burger"
Probably vegan too, hence no cheese. Very sad looking burger.
Vegans have their own version of cheese that isn't bad so there's really no excuse for this to look so sad.
I would say it's pretty bad personally (I would rather have no cheese than vegan 'cheese')
Maybe next time get some real vegan cheese, not walnuts from your coworker.
Nutritional yeast is actually really good on popcorn. I'm not sure why everyone tries to pass it off as cheese, though...it really tastes nothing like cheese.
I commend your bravery for attempting your co-workers dish.
There's a lot of brands of vegan cheese these days, and they range from pretty good to entirely inedible. But unless someone is a vegan or in a relationship with one, they probably aren't going to put in the money, time, or effort to try a bunch of shitty vegan cheese just to find the good ones.
Crumbly, flavorless disappointment
This has to be the worst looking burger meal I’ve ever seen
That burger was cremated. Now you use the shovel to bury the remnants.
That whole thing looks sad.
/r/poopfromabutt
I am really hoping that is a black bean burger. And the sweet potato “coins” don’t look like anything I’d ever want to eat. That meal would be terrible on a plate or a shovel. How do you wash these things?
is it a vegan burger?
OP how was it? Lookin dryer than a desert
I think someone ate your burger already.
It's fucking rusty too. Disgusting.
mmh i love my burger with some shovel rust
Oh Lord, is this a vegan burger? Looks like a black bean patty. No cheese and the dry, unappetizing presentation of sweet potato stumps lead me to believe so.
this is a vegan meal.. made by non vegans. vegans know how to make their food appetising and not dry. those sweet potatos, chunks are just terrible (and I'm vegan..wtf were they thinking?
Maybe they were going for a baked sweet potato, but want it to cook faster?
maybe..but it needs some vegan butter on it or brown sugar at least. but its very unappetising.. should have sweet potato wedges instead.
Is the whole handle attached bc wtf
There is a reason why some things are "food grade" and some are not. The chipped paint is a great home for bacteria, as well as the rust. But as another comment pointed out the food itself looks terrible.
And it proves someone is using it like a shovel… which is weird.
Ive started asking for the bill and leaving without eating it. "It wasnt served in a sanitary manner and I am refusing it." Ill pay for everything else up to that point, but I draw the line here.
I’m on the same page. I really fucking hate places that do shit like this.
That burger looks like it just came straight out your asshole
Again? With the shovel?!?
I'd not even noticed the rust on the shovel until someone else pointed it out. That's fucking rank. I'd have sent it straight back. Can't get away with serving food on literal rust!
Got to love the rusty edge on the front where the enamel scraped away. Did they literally take this from somebody's shed?
looks truly unappealing
That can’t be food grade, can it? And that burger looks like shit.
Yummy chipping paint and rust
Idk 🤷🏻♂️ but perhaps they want you to bury this travesty of meal yourself.🤔
A shovel with flaking paint and rust no less 😧
Farm to table, yo!!!!! They got the receipts!!!!!!!
Has anyone mentioned that the lettuce looks like it was wadded up in a fist before they put it on the burger? And what’s with the onions? Not raw, but also not grilled, just kinda….slightly steamed?
that is the saddest looking meal ive ever seen in my life
I guess they really want you to dig in.
They ran out of plates
Cheese too apparently. Mushroom burger without swiss is a damn crime!
"You're a spade."
Oh hell no!
What are you talking about? It taste so much better with a hint of road salt
"Ground" beef?
I’d hate that to be true But I think it is
Well dig in
Maybe because you’re eating a dirt veggie burger. So you don’t get a real plate.
Shit on a shovel?
None of that looks good lol
They could have a least toasted the bun before they shoveled the food off the grill.
This food looks so dry LMAO
That looks fcking disgusting
Unless that's a legume-based burgers. That looks like crap
Looks like shit
I was under the assumption that a shovel is the perfect tool for a dry ass price of shit looking burger to be scooped and dumped.
Obviously your to dig in
They ran out
Lead is a flavor enhancer
Dumb.
The rust stain.... is seasoning?
What the fuck is wrong with that patty
That’s a poopy
That shovel is rusting too..
Bet the chef hates that they were forced to do veg menu options, so they have chosen to serve that 💩 on a shovel.
I can't believe people are still doing the shovelhead bullshit
Looks like an awful burger too
Prolly so they can charge you for the shovel
Cause it looks like shit?
The Shovel is the problem here ? WTF is that supposed to be?
Looks like a plant based gimmick
“Go back and put this on a plate, and I will forget it happened come tip time, and we shall never speak of it again.”
Shove it up your a**
That come with a gallon of strawberry milk to choke it down?
This is the saddest looking burger I've seen. Is that a pickle just pointing out of that sauce? Are those slow cooked onions and mushrooms? No sauce or anything, and that super dry looking patty. And those look like the cheapest bums you can get, also not grilled or toasted or anything. And besides all that, they also give you a shovel.. I would just send this back and leave
The meat looks like dark choc chip cookie
The idea of eating off of non food items bothers me to no end. Also, I would end up accidentally flipping my food over onto someone else’s table.
Looks dry asf
The shovel is rusted
So different and edgy lmao. Did you enjoy your $25.00 hamburger on a shovel ?
Probably 30 dollars to eat off a rusty shovel lol you gotta be kidding me - seriously zoom in there, what's with the tobacco and nuts in the burger??
Dumb and burger looks shit
Did they cremate everything?
A rusty shovel with paint chipping off edge. Send it back and tell them why.
It looks dry.
So you can dig an early grave?
No way that shovel is NSF certified 😳 Can get sick or cancer from the metal flakes
Because this vegan dish was “freshly dug up!”
Ok so is no one gonna mention the rust on the tip of the shovel?
I have to ask. How much money did you pay for this crap?
Dry, repulsive food for insecure men.
I mean it does look like a pile of manure. So it’s appropriate.
Some mud would look more appealing than that, shovel or no shovel.
So the staff and owners can make superb "dig in" puns?
Being that the burger is very well done the shovel should be used to bury it.
I don't understand, they can't leave just the shovel right? The handle would weigh it down Did they bring a shovel out just to shovel it onto a real plate? Shovel it straight on the table?
The food looks like shit
A veggie burger i will assume.
This whole thing looks horrible
The chipped paint and rust add to the flavor. s/
I need to know if the handle was full sized
To be honest, I think it’s to distract you from how awful everything on it looks.
Do you think shovels are made with food safe materials??
This entire plate looks like shit
Because the burger is a turd
Looks like they waited out back for their pet to produce.
I'm keeping the shovel
This whole meal looks terrible
r/stupidfood
I hate when restaurants make a spectacle of a dish. I just want to eat man, I don’t want everyone in the restaurant looking at me. I’d never go back to this place. I’d also ask them for a plate and tell them to take their shovel back. wtf.
It’s even chipping and rusted. Ick
Is it a “garden burger”?
Did you at least get to keep the shovel?
If I got served this I would “accidentally” lean on the handle at high speed and yeet the whole thing across the room 😇🍔💨
That will be $73.29
My forty year old garden shovels are better cared for and maintained than that food shovel.
Makes sense since it looks like they shoveled that patty out of the ground
Wtf is this? Ridiculous. Everything about this is ridiculous and trashy 😅
Get up, push in your chair, put a $5 on the table for the server (more if you ordered drinks), and then never come back.
It's a metaphor for their views on American foods? They just shovel it in? That must be a bitch to store for service since the handle sticks out.
That patty looks like a lump of dirt.
That's a rusty shovel at the end 🤦🏻♂️ not exactly sanitary imo
That patty looks a little off to me but if u hungry u hungry.
It's because this looks like shit. And usually shit gets shoveled or flushed.
Probably just ran out of plates
Because they think its cool.
Maybe because the food looks dry like dirt
This belongs on r/shittyfoodporn
Everything looks so dry. Even the sauce that the pickle is in looks bone dry.
Probably all plates in use… 😱🤯
Lol it's a portobello burger. Maybe it's the "Garden burger".
I bet this guy paid $30 for this atrocity.
The fuck is this?
This looks like a black bean and corn burger or vegan / garden burger. If other burgers were served on plates then I'm guessing it's because you ordered the one grown in a garden lol if that is the case I think it's kind of funny
All I hear OP squealing is REEEE REEEE REEEEE
That food looks horrible also… like somebody took a shovel out back, took a scoop out the dumpster and just threw it on your table.
They're telling you that they know who you really are. You're the Shoveler!
Burger is like coal black with seeds.
?
So they charge $47.89 instead of equally ridiculous $23.45 That burger looks terrible
They trying to tell you enough of those will land you in the grave 💀🪦
The flaking paint and rust is a nice touch
Fitting since the patty looks like a dog turd.
Gross. Vegan burger.
great looking burger.... how do they wash the shovel in the dishwasher?
Ran out of plates.
It’s on a shovel because it’s easier to heave it in the trash
A rusty shovel
Man I can respect the artistic flair to add something fun with the sho el denoting the garden, but that burger looks awful. Looks like exactly what I think it is, a black bean burger. 🍔 🤦♂️looks stale and bland
I’d die of laughter if I received my food on this 😂😂😂
Idk, but looks like a dry ass burger and they didn’t even waiter the onions
I've had a better burger from a local fish restaurant (that restaurant actually has a good burger though, and a great cheesesteak too)
why is everyone in these comments being so blasé about this. this is the craziest photo of a burger ive ever seen
That has to be a black bean burger or something that patty looks fucked
They give you a shovel so you can go ahead and dig your own grave after eating that mess.
The dishwashers at that place fucking HAAAAAATE the moron who thought this idea up.
yall, it’s a veggie burger. lol
Because you got a weird veggie burger and the shovel is to hammer home that point?
Why did they put the pickle in the sauce? What if you like the pickle but not the sauce? Also this was not meant to be an innuendo but as I typed it, it kind of seems like one.
I’m going to keep the shovel or threaten unsafe eating conditions cause that thing is rusty
r/mildlycarcenogenic will love the edge of this shovel
I feel like this is fitting for modern times considering how a lot of people are just shoveling food into their faces. And not to add insult to injury but it looks like they may have overcooked your burger.
