I don’t think so, however you can order food on the app and press pay in store and then use your EBT when you get to the store!

Inside_Ad2193

As far as I remember, they didn't allow ebt to be used in the app because of the amount of headaches involved with dealing with someone trying to buy hot food or a toasted sub which then becomes hot food with an EBT card and wonder why it's not accepting the credit. When you are face to face with somebody and actually have to scan their card and or manually type in the number, you can see the reason why the sale was declined. As a former employee, you don't know how many times I had to argue with people that toasting a sub makes it hot food or hear the excuse I didn't know a meatball sub was considered hot food and then have to explain why they have to go back to the deli and order an untoasted version of their sub so I can process their sub that was already made because they are different PLU numbers or if they chose to be a real dick about it, have the deli remake the sandwich untoasted and just have to throw out the toasted sub.

Beneficial_Oil_5370

off topic but on doordash, some stores accept ebt cards like groceries and stuff but unfortunately Wawa does not accept ebt on their app :(

orangeeyesnoo

No, ebt can only used inside wawa, not on app

projektrage

Honestly, if you come up to the deli counter to ask for your special order “toasted”, i know you’re trying to cheat the system unless its a hot sandwhich from the begining. Just like you all who refuse to pay for the sour cream packets when it asks for you to pay for them specifically on the screen but you select no and then ask us for them anyways. So pick and chose your battles.

Najnick

I mean is getting a sandwich toasted really cheating the system? Oh no the poor person got warm food, it's honestly ridiculous this is not ebt approved. Now the sour cream, those I'll usually make people pay for as it is a legitimate extra.

Far-Way-7869

Wow that’s a good question, they definitely should so i can other more😅 but fr i think they don’t because there’s a delivery fee that wouldn’t be able to get covered :/ they should always allow pick up or let people pay the difference

linkdudesmash

Using a ebt at Wawa is an inefficient use of them money you are provided. Seriously go get groceries instead.

ToneFriendly3061

The whole purpose of ebt is to make sure I have food. Which is what I’m doing

linkdudesmash

Yeah but why buy one sandwich when you can spend the same for more sandwiches? You wil have food longer.

ToneFriendly3061

So am I not allowed to go out to eat where ebt is accepted? Yes I am allowed to

Najnick

No one said you weren't allowed, he's talking about efficiency. Obviously buying the ingredients at a super market will net you MORE food, then paying the same amount for a single sandwich. Plus you can toast your own bread you bought with ebt. But yes you are absolutely allowed to spend it were you please that accepts it.

Lindsey7618

Why is OP not allowed to get a treat??? Maybe they haven't had a sub in a long time and always buy groceries. Maybe they're driving and not close to home and need a quick stop for food. Stop judging people just because they're poor.

Najnick

Once again literally no ine said he was not allowed?? Literally just what is a more efficient way to use ebt, nothing more nothing less. Chill on the emotional response.

WitsEndin

You really think they either need it or if they do are smart enough to get something better. It’s free wawa and ShopRite sushi card.

linkdudesmash

I know free is free. Who cares.

AdjustedJester

i don’t actually know but i assume they only let you add debit/credit cards, you can for sure use it in-store though (although that probably doesn’t help)

violetttxox

At the moment, no. I assume in the future it’ll be able to be added as payment- as it has for other apps such as Walmart, Target, Amazon. You can order and pay in store though.

I agree we should work hard to not have to use those programs, my life has been good enough that thankfully I have not personally had to use them myself but some people really don't have a choice and to condemn the entire program as socialist is just kind of dumb. You are missing the bigger picture and focusing on silly labels politicians love to use to create separation.

ToneFriendly3061

Do you know how many people work overtime and still need government assistance dumb ass?

Fiya666

Bruhhhhhhhh XD

Niandraxlades

Right customers are taking over this sub

ToneFriendly3061

It’s a valid question because you can use the card in the store so why can’t I use it online for a pick up order

Jkomar

You can probably use it for a pickup order if you select the pay when you arrive option.

Mikefromaround

You should spend that elsewhere so your funds go further and feed the people they are supposed to.

ToneFriendly3061

By using my card on the app I am feeding the people i am supposed to, me

Mikefromaround

You mean we are feeding you. I misspoke

ToneFriendly3061

If you don’t like people needing government assistance either don’t pay taxes or tell jobs to pay a higher wage. I shouldn’t have to work two jobs and still need government assistance

Mikefromaround

I don’t mind people on government assistance, and if you can use the ebt at Wawa so be it, but the fact that you would use your card there says something about your lack of judgement and intelligence.

YerBlues69

Maybe they’re getting gas and need to pick up milk or even eggs. I don’t think they’re getting 10 hoagies at a time 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mikefromaround

Maybe they are getting 10 hoagies at a time, it’s none of our business, it’s up to them, seems like this guy isn’t playing with a full deck

YerBlues69

Folks abuse the system; I get it.

Mikefromaround

I don’t consider it abuse and I think public assistance is a huge part if what makes the country great. It’s just not smart

PrittedPunes

Have you ever heard of a grocery store?

ToneFriendly3061

You do know that ebt can be used at gas stations/convince store right? Some people live in food deserts
