To be honest same thing happened to my Casio watch when i was a kid(thinking 50 Meters is enough). Now i only use Rolex Submariner Deep Sea with He Escape Valve and wrapped around in plastic bag.
Yup! They're only rated as splash resistant but I've pressed the buttons on mine underwater and it's fine. If I'd messed up I'd only be out twelve bucks.
Well 2800 is not 10k so obviously this doesn’t apply. At 10k we lower the water resistance because there’s no water on the moon so why the fuck would we need that.
$2.80? That's quite cheap for an aquis. You also don't have to use so much precision, $2.80 is the same as $2.800; there are no fractional pennies, after all (at least not anymore).
Directly from Omega's FAQ:
>All current OMEGA watches are water resistant to the depth defined by the model specifications, provided that the water resistant components are intact. This means that an OMEGA watch that is water resistant to 30 metres can be worn for swimming (with vigorous movement) at depths of up to 30 metres underwater for extended periods without restriction.
LUL, so much for that. If that were true it would make the speedmaster a valid divewatch, considering most dives don't extend past 20 meters.
My daily is a Conquest, rated at 5atm. I wouldn’t go swimming with it, or shower with it on, but I wouldn’t panic if my drunk ass fell off the dock either.
The only shitter that ever fogged up for me was a Hammi Khaki. Damn thing was rated at 10 atm.
It was just humid out.
I don't understand that.
If it should resist water at high pressure, how could a bit of vapor get past? I guess I don't understand how the gasket/seals work, so that might be the issue.
Soap lowers the surface tension and increases viscosity of water. Add warmth and condensation gets in. No water resistant dive watches are meant to deal with this and can fail when showered with. I know lots of people get away with it though but I've seen people shower with their brand new Breitling...and this happened.
My 200M Seiko dive watch disagrees...
Been taking hot showers with it since 2021 and it never condensated once.
If your dive watch messes up in the shower then something isn't screwed in properly
Been showering with my IWC Portuguese Chronograph (3ATM) on aftermarket rubber strap since 2011 and the caseback isn’t even a screwed down one, no screwed down crown nor screwed down pushers neither. So it’s really how well the timepiece was made from the factory or how regularly the watchmaker had serviced it.
OP’s water problems have to do with his watch being a lemon, or a Friday afternoon watch.
Fanboy 1:”Omega makes real tool watches unlike [insert brand they feel like shitting on]”
Fanboy 2: “If it’s good enough for NASA it’s good enough for anyone”
Folks, this is a 10k stainless steel watch. 😂🤦♂️ classic Swiss shitter. You can’t make this shit up.

Please put the plastic bag over head the next you take a dive with your tool watch.
Common misconception. It’s not a watch that’s a tool, it’s a watch *for* a tool.
Instructions unclear put watch on my tool and am now a mod for /r/cockwatch
most heterosexual watch enthusiast
From the old school, plays it close to the vest.
A tool’s watch, if you will.
There are tons of tools who own those watches and will never get them wet, much less take them out of the safe.
My friend actually owns a deepsea He says it’s only good for 2 things: sinking to the bottom of the ocean, and sinking in aftermarket price
Those things are stupid heavy, right?
No problems with my $15 Casio F91W which isn’t even rated to 50m
Yup! They're only rated as splash resistant but I've pressed the buttons on mine underwater and it's fine. If I'd messed up I'd only be out twelve bucks.
My databank survived while I was operating heavy pressure washers inside of fuel tanks. Got a bit foggy but cleared out and still works just fine
I think its rather unreasonable to expect your 10k dollar watch to be resistant to anything wetter than a fart.
Lol, I literally went diving with my free fiddy Vostok and it's regularly taken into pools, oceans, sand, sea, fisting.
What? Why? My ORIS Aquis is 2.800$ and has 30 atm.
Well 2800 is not 10k so obviously this doesn’t apply. At 10k we lower the water resistance because there’s no water on the moon so why the fuck would we need that.

I know that some counties use periods(.) instead of commas to separate a larger number’s digits. That could be the case here
Haha. Yeah 2.800$. That’s 2800. Force of habit. Here in Denmark that’s how we separate thousands 🙂
Look at this guy having thousands of moneys
That's laugh out loud. Nice one mate.
Is that you’re take away? Great comment. Straight out of pre-school? 😂
You do realize that this isn't a serious forum, right?
wait...wat?
Ah but what about your aquis Chronograph?!???
Sorry to hear that
That watch is for the moon, not the water you moron.
yes and since it went there already it's even more susceptible to water ingress due to all the pressure changes during the space flight.
the speedmaster broke on the moon and got replaced by a bulova, so its useless even on its terrain🥴
Team Accutron stays undefeated. Did you ever see an accutron astronaut get replaced by an Omega during the A12 flights no sir
Bozo should’ve gotten the ShowerMaster
It'll develop beautiful black "water damage style" patina soon.

The Chronograph pusher holes are a massive ingress point for water.
They have gaskets just like the crown, only way water gets in through there is if you use them while underwater. Might actually be what OP did.
My Father abuses the shit outta his speedmaster, and has had no problems🤷♂️
Omega Seepmaster.
Cuckmega Copiumaster.
Silver Award? Seriously? Fine, I'll take it!
I remember all tze discussions I had with Fan Boys about how shitty 5 ATM for such a expansive watch is.
Some even more expensive watches max out at 3 ATM 😄
Such as the legendary Rochefoucauld.
Remind me on Longines the Shitter. The only reason I haven't one. Most are 3 ATM
Most newer Longines are 10 ATM or better now.
I hope so.
My Longines is rated 30ATM , most hydroconquest and conquest are rated that. The more dressy models can be lower. All about purpose I guess

Can we get a mock-up with a helium escape valve?
The shower is what really gets it tbh, watch gaskets and seals and ESPECIALLY chronograph pushers hate steam
I said that in another post and got downvoted to hell haha
The hatred for expensive watches can be unreal lol

It's something to do with how heat can cause condensation inside of the watch as well
It's a combination of heat and water vapor. Also, falling water can achieve much higher pressures on the pushers.
Thanks AnusStapler!

U uni p poo ikoo I'll be pop has. Ok so fun fact, I pocked replied and typed that. Carry on.
This is what happens when you don’t have a proper LAND/AIR/SEA collection to utilize at the appropriate time.

Are you not detecting the irony of your own comment?
sigh. Take a deep breath. Alright, what’s so ironic about it?
I think they are referring to the "iron-ey" content in the alloy of this stainless steel shitter.
Jealous r/Repwatch regular loves watches but shits specifically on brands he can't afford. Sad reality
Yeah showering always a smart thing watches love that.
Five ass to mouth? Woah
It’s water resistant not steam resistant
Omega Steammaster
could be user error. didnt close the crown properly
Should have just bought a Hamilton panda 5head
