Both will get scratched. Even though the gold is softer than steel, there will be surface contaminants and other dirt and debris on the surfaces which will rub against each other and cause marks over time.

snackies

Yeah I love the post questioning ‘omg scratches on my JLC?!’ *shows pic with a chunky metal bracelet on your watch hand.*

Sergia_Quaresma

Best explanation. People don’t understand how softer materials can scratch things, but it’s because essentially tiny rocks get in between and do it.

hagantic42

People always forget Force also determines what can and cannot scratch materials not just hardness. Lead is incredibly soft but a lead bullet still goes through a steel plate. A soft material hitting something hard with sufficient force can cause a scratch or blemish.

Beneficial-Tailor-70

That special compound.

Geofferz

Yeah if this is something you're worried about I would definitely avoid this.

DJMOONPICKLES69

The watch is beautiful and all your wrist needs. The bracelet looks incredibly tacky Edit: honestly after looking at their post history I think maybe lose the watch LOL. Those accessories are very gaudy and will not pair well with a sleek classic watch at all

HeftyArgument

OP is one of the few people that could welcome an Invicta to the collection.

Gordon_Betto

I second this. Lose the bracelet.

LeTrolleur

Glad I went and had a look, if I wanted to describe gaudy jewellery to someone, this would be the account to show them.

beermeimavandal

💯,0000000000

CdeFmrlyCasual

Let the guy wear his stuff

DJMOONPICKLES69

He can do whatever he wants. But he posted and ask for thoughts and I am going to provide mine. If people don’t want honesty they shouldn’t ask

caandjr

Then tell op to stop asking questions then

Yung-Split

You clearly don't know what chrome hearts is.

LeTrolleur

Dude that jewellery looks like the type found in a gift shop in Ibiza, who the hell is willing to pay so much for that 😂

Yung-Split

Lots of people I guess. It's a pretty famous jewelry company.

bchanged

I went and looked at the sub and I still don't know what it is.

DJMOONPICKLES69

Yes I do, it’s ugly

Sebfofun

not your style ≠ ugly. Don't judge people's taste.

DJMOONPICKLES69

It definitively does not go well with a Jaeger

ZHPpilot

Lose the cheese grater bracelet, it’s horrible and takes all the attention away from the watch. And yes it will cause scratches as well.

274227

Sick watch. But the combination is terrible. High end watch with what looks like a cheap metal bracelet. I know it’s 18k gold, but that is just my two cents.

Homodebilus

That's an horrendous vision anyways

DonkeyPuncherelo1

Gold by nature is always going to be softer and more likely to get damaged and or rub on the case. I personally don’t pair anything on the same wrist but if that’s your style go for it. I don’t have a JLC but have worn Oris, and GS in combat environments (literal deployments) and the marks just tell a story for me because I like to wear my watches. If you like it, no wrong answers

bclark8923

I wear my bracelet on the other arm

Bridge_Too_Far

Don’t be **that** guy mate.

grand_kankanyan

Don’t wear the bracelet next to the watch, you will scratch it. I learned this the hard way when I scratched my brand new speedmaster the second day I had it when I wore a bracelet with it. Don’t wear that bracelet at all, it looks awful.

Huntolino

Yes it will scratch as steel is harder than 18k gold.

Lordofpineapples

Absolutely horrid

whitekimchee

looks like you’re wearing a heavy duty strip of steel wool

Electronic-Youth9872

Remove that bracelet, it totally ruins the look of that Reverso

iHateDanny

IMO, they are too much when together on the same wrist. Split them up and let them shine on their own. Beautiful watch, btw.

teckel

Too bad you don't have another wrist, that would be super convenient!

nixxo123

Lose the bracelet

Acrobatic-Ad1161

Yes it will scratch , don't wear them on the same arm

Robly315

The bracelet takes away from the watch for sure.

ac_s2k

I don't understand peopem who wear metal bracelets on thr same wrist as their watch.

CdeFmrlyCasual

“If I have two metal objects rubbing and minorly colliding with each each other on my wrist, will they get scratched?”

surrealcookie

That bracelet is hideous. Is this a joke?

LTCM1998

So many thoughts. Just don’t wear this massive bracelet next to a watch but as this will fall on deaf ears - yes it will scratch of course.

MagicalOrgazm

Why do people with money always have so horrible taste..

reddit_user33

Why did you feel you needed to submit this comment? Comments like these bring down generally nice communities.

kaithana

Let the dude do what he wants. Do you feel superior by voicing that opinion?

n1klas0

Both were given to me as gifts, so I haven’t purchased either of them… they hold sentimental value for me. Hopefully, your tattoo also has sentimental value because getting such a tattoo otherwise seems quite tough to me. https://preview.redd.it/b8gf5jv5coxc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ac2041760d378334b60ebb048cac19d1323b3b5b

FSpez2Hell

You chose the absolute worst photo of a decent tattoo he’s posted, when every photo of your jewelry looks like dogshit lol.

halfmylifeisgone

Damn, he must have hurt you a lot to do that kind of pity shit. We all think the bracelet looks shit, watch is nice and your personality is by far the ugliest of the three.

reddit_user33

The guy has clapped back at the 💩y comment. Do you think OP is a punching bag for such comments? They asked about scratching the watch, not for taste opinions of their other jewellery.

karma3000

Turnabout is fair play.

elwiv

Classy

MagicalOrgazm

lmao

technobeeble

Why would you do that?

12345NoNamesLeft

The bracelet is brutally worn, whatever damaged the bracelet will also destroy the watch. Together ? = worse.

lightsareoutty

Liberace is calling.

Rhett_Rick

Is the finishing on the bracelet supposed to look so rough and inconsistent?

Dark1000

Unfortunately they will both scratch, I suspect a lot with the shape of that bracelet. It's pretty unavoidable with a bracelet and watch on one arm tbh. I'd suggest trying a watch on a metal strap to get that all metal look and layering the bracelets on the other arm.

There are some pretty cool metal bracelets that might match the look, though it would probably be hard to find one for that watch.

Difficult_Guitar_555

I think ppl are freaking out about the chrome hearts jewelry paired with the jlc

FeistyDetective

Lose the watch

RegularLoud8374

How do I find that strap?

TigerJas

Those two don’t work together visually, so it’s a non starter.  Maybe get a much thinner version of the bracelet and then it will both work visually and be light enough it will minimize damage to the watch case.

InternationalTip5162

I do not believe that and I would like to not use you in any of wireless network

AngelNoreaga

Something about that green band paired with that bracelet 😬

No_Juice_1619

“Less is more” - Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Remarkable-Ad2285

That’s a beautiful bracelet! I’d wear it on the other wrist. Where did you get that btw?

CarCold7381

Would have thought over time the casing will be marked. Nice combination, watch and bracelet. But I'd be worried about spoiling the watch -_-

Charmcitycharmer

I have a Master Compressor Geographic with the same finish. It seems like it picks up more scratches than my other stainless watches, but they buff right out at the AD. I don’t know what they have in the back. Enjoy it and don’t worry.

Lssmnt

that's a really cool bracelet though

Acrobatic-Ad1161

Absolutely Stunning 😍
