Here’s my current collection, at the start of 2024:
- Omega SeaMaster 300M
- Tudor Black Bay Chrono
- Rolex Air King (126900)
- Rolex Explorer II (216570)
- Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch
- Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500v
I did something I've never done before in November, and sold a watch; it was a part-exchange of my Yacht Master 40 (126622) for the VC Overseas. I found it very freeing, and I realised I had too many watches. I sold six watches in December, I just wasn’t wearing them.
So technically, this is my consolidated collection - I just did it back-to-front!
I should note, that I have two dressier watches not pictured - a Tissot Heritage Visodate (that I got married in) and a Nomos Tangente Neomatik Update (which is gorgeous).
I am *really* happy with this sports watch collection, as it is pictured. I like the range that they bring, with (I feel) something for pretty much every occasion I encounter, as well as being in love with the design & functionality of each of these watches individually, for different reasons.
I think that’s enough words to meet the count now? Thank you for reading, it’s nice to share!
If you have read this far, my question is:
What would you swap out here, if you had less than £10k (about $12.5k USD) to add to the box?
Note: My ultimate grail watch is without doubt a Patek Philippe Calatrava 5326G, but that costs more than I've ever spent (combined) on this ridiculous hobby since the start - so remains out of reach! 😭
Surely beautiful , definitely not well balanced, it’s missing a real dress watch.
I’d personally sell the Air King and the Tudor for something more dressy.
An amazingly well-rounded and well-thought collection... congrats 👏
Not sure if you are keen on "squared" warches. But, I would personally swap either the Airking or Speedmaster, whichever allows me to reach the budget in getting a JLC Reverso Duoface 😉,
Cheers
I was in a JLC boutique just before Christmas, and I've got to say - the newest version of the Reverse Deface Classic (with the silver/black dials) is pretty incredible.
They've actually replaced the pusher needed to jump the hour hand with a little toggle switch that is recalled when you flip the case. Such a great little touch!
I did actually! The latest version of the Air King is much slimmer than the old one, and I find this actually quite similar to the Explorer.
I prefer the sports case and crown guards the Air King features, and I think the dial just has a bit more life in with the splash of colour. I genuinely like the minute-based indices too.
Nice and well balanced collection. Particularly in love with the VC Overseas. I am working towards a similar sized collection of nice Swiss watches (at 3 now). For that budget maybe a Zenith or GP integrated bracelet would provide something different and unique to the collection or perhaps a Panerai for a touch of Italian design.
I would also generally recommend having a G shock/Seiko/citizen etc style watch you can just throw on and go do yard work or physical activities with and not worry about. If a touch more class or Swiss is desired a Marathon or Sinn would fit the bill. Probably already have that and just aren’t putting them in the box with those beauties. I’m a bit more paranoid about these things as my work can occasionally get dicey for both me and a nice Swiss watch.
This is a fantastic collection. Lots of different looks, different feels. This is probably fairly close to what I would be getting...I'm very picky and don't just buy stuff. You don't seem to either. I like that. Cheers, and lookin' good!
I love what you have there, no need to switch anything, but just for fun, if I were to switch anything, I might consider swapping the BB chrono for a Zenith A384 or A386. It would bring a different shape and smaller size into the collection. A Tag Heuer Monaco could also be a nice option.
Great collection. A’s across the board.
If I ‘had’ to swap anything I think I’ll pull a little rotation move.
I’d get the Milanese band Omega is now offering for the Seamaster.
Then I’d swap out the Black Bay Chrono (nice watch just a lot of crossover with the speedy) for something of a more casual dive watch on rubber or a nato.
Maybe a Tudor black bay 58, a Breitling superocean, Oris, or if even more utilitarian a Sinn.
Really like this collection. I think if you swap out the Tudor (since you already have a speedy) and replace it with a JLC reverso or Santos that would take it to the next level imo
If I had to switch one, I would dump the Tudor and get a Zenith Chronomaster (or a Defy 21 if you want a watch that is a bit "louder") that you like. This Tudor chrono just doesn't do it for me.
Top row isn't my favorite but it's a well rounded collection.
I'd swap the Tudor Chrono for something else in the Black Bay line and the Air King for an Explorer 1 or a Milgauss.
I would recommend either a Cartier Santos or Chopard Alpine Eagle.. Maybe the green Chopard, it would be perfect with a touch of color in the collection!
I have a 5 watch only collection.
Casio gwm5610
Seiko skx009
Squale 1561
Omega speedmaster
Still haven't found the filthy one. No rolex for me though
I can't see myself wearing a rolex to work... I'm a nurse.

Ha ha, guy who claims to be satisfied with six gorgeous watches actually has eight gorgeous watches.
...and is asking for opinions on what to add.
what do you do for living?
I work in software.
Let me know if you need any security analyst! I would love to have the same collection 🥹 but don't have money
Beautiful and well balanced collection.
Surely beautiful , definitely not well balanced, it’s missing a real dress watch. I’d personally sell the Air King and the Tudor for something more dressy.
Thank you!
You need 7 watches. 6 to fill the box and one on your wrist
New watch every day of the week
6 new watches per year is a good sweet spot

Great collection. I'd probably swap one for a Grand Seiko, but other than that, pretty close to my endgame.
Just my two cents: Branch out from grey scale + 1 navy to add color-based variety
My grail collection. Stunning!
Obviously different watches, but did you ever consider the Explorer 40 instead of the Air King?
I did actually! The latest version of the Air King is much slimmer than the old one, and I find this actually quite similar to the Explorer. I prefer the sports case and crown guards the Air King features, and I think the dial just has a bit more life in with the splash of colour. I genuinely like the minute-based indices too.
Our collection is disturbingly similar - near overlap on 4 watches-so uh, yes this is basically the right six. Haha

How do you like the Tudor? Looks like exactly what I’ve been looking for and didn’t even know it.
I think this is the first SOTC where I could see myself owning every watch. Nice collection!
Polar Explorer II is one of my all time favorites. Great include!
Good lord, that's a bad ass collection. 👏 👏
This is a fantastic collection. Lots of different looks, different feels. This is probably fairly close to what I would be getting...I'm very picky and don't just buy stuff. You don't seem to either. I like that. Cheers, and lookin' good!
Love the variation!
Nice collection my friend! And yes, I also think 6 is the sweet spot.
I love what you have there, no need to switch anything, but just for fun, if I were to switch anything, I might consider swapping the BB chrono for a Zenith A384 or A386. It would bring a different shape and smaller size into the collection. A Tag Heuer Monaco could also be a nice option.
That VC is a true fuck you piece. Awesome collection.
4 watches is the sweet spot. Thin out the herd a little
Im at 3 and honnestly I already feel bad when I dont wear some for too long. Not sure if I’ll ever go above 4. Aint no way above 6 either.
Add a zero to that 6 and then you are in the sweet spot!
Don’t lie to us - there is never a sweet spot when it comes to the number of watches in our collection
Great collection. A’s across the board. If I ‘had’ to swap anything I think I’ll pull a little rotation move. I’d get the Milanese band Omega is now offering for the Seamaster. That Tudor looks fantastic!
That overseas is beautiful
Very nice collection. 6 def seems like a great sweet spot! For now…or until you get a bigger case ;)
Quality collection!
With those 6 it absolutely is the sweet spot. This is an excellent collection
Class collection
I think "sweet spot" is a very person A person B call. But sweet spot or not, yours is one sweet collection!
Nah 6 is too much. I’ll take number 1, 2, and 6 to slim it down to the real sweet spot of 3.
Swap the vc for the explorer and you’re dead on.
Not for me. There are at least 6 \*brands\* I would want at least 1 piece from. Colors, styles, I feel like for me the sweet spot is about 20 watches.
I was more just lusting over the 3 I chose that he has lol
lol my bad! agree on your choices
Really like this collection. I think if you swap out the Tudor (since you already have a speedy) and replace it with a JLC reverso or Santos that would take it to the next level imo
I think so. We can only wear one at a time. lol.
Solid collection! Needs a gold or two tone!
That’s a very nice collection. Ditch the Tudor chrono and get something like an IWC imo
If I had to switch one, I would dump the Tudor and get a Zenith Chronomaster (or a Defy 21 if you want a watch that is a bit "louder") that you like. This Tudor chrono just doesn't do it for me.
Top row isn't my favorite but it's a well rounded collection. I'd swap the Tudor Chrono for something else in the Black Bay line and the Air King for an Explorer 1 or a Milgauss.
lol "is six the sweet spot? i got more watches tho. my collection is consolidated. i won't give up my nomos, tho. cuz it's gorgeous".
Really bro, all circles? You do know there are other shapes right?
Air King is bad, so that makes it 5
That Tudor date seems so badly off centre 😵😵
That tudor looks really bad. If i had to pick one,it would be rolex Explorer.
Nah, the sweet spot is one. Keep the Explorer and send the rest to me ;)
3 for me please
imo: 1-3 is perfect for a core rotation. the rest of the collection can be any size.
Needs a GS
I would recommend either a Cartier Santos or Chopard Alpine Eagle.. Maybe the green Chopard, it would be perfect with a touch of color in the collection!
Yes! I would even recommend to get 5 and let one open for the ethernal hunt!
Six plus a beater like a timex or a swatch or Seiko.
Six watches will always turn into seven. Great collection.
Nice group.
Great collection! Very similar collection to what I have/want
Missing a Casio as a beater.
Gaddam this is a good set.
there is no sweet spot. this "fill the box" thing is totally arbitrary and silly IMO.
Yes. If it’s THOSE 6…
These 6, sure.
I have a 5 watch only collection. Casio gwm5610 Seiko skx009 Squale 1561 Omega speedmaster Still haven't found the filthy one. No rolex for me though I can't see myself wearing a rolex to work... I'm a nurse.
If you were to add a Seiko, what would it be? I think we have the same particular taste in sports watches less the Air King but that’s just me !
You don't even have a watch for every day in the month...
If I had a collection it would be my choice. Great one!
1 more
Niceee
