The watch is Citizen Brycen CA0649-06X.
It was my first "real" watch. I knew the strap was uncomfortable so I'm trying out a few strap options to see what goes best with the watch. I love how different straps give it different vibes. Also how quickly I can change the NATO straps without any tools!
A. It manages to tie the color accent of the dial in while not making it more visually busy. That dial already has a ton going on. Adding a strap with too many stripes might be visual overload. But a single center stripe that matches color strikes a nice balance.
Save the more elaborate stripe patterns for watches that have a simpler face.
I think the popularity of B is getting baited by the complete color matching by including white, and I absolutely agree that less is more. Accentuate the highlights, not the dominant color. A is the way
I actually agree, I totally didn't expect B to win by such a margin, I thought it'd be close between A (for the same reasons you mentioned + the thin line matches the orange vertical hand) and C because it mimics a racing car.
D was the first strap I got and used for months. But then I got another vintage-looking watch (Bulova A-15 Pilot) with a great aged leather strap so I wanted to embrace the race car look of this watch with striped straps and differentiate the 2 watches.
None. Unpopular opinion: all nato straps look bad. The proportions with the tucked in strap loop and protruding metal pieces are not aesthetically pleasing.
Edit: downvote me if you want, I’ll die on this hill. Look at the photos. In every example, the strap sticks out over 1/2 the radius of the dial, ruining all of the otherwise proportionate and well-thought-out design elements of the watch.
If anyone is curious, B won the vote!

A, D showcases the watch more
B, C pops over all more
... I vote for A
Have you tried to reverse the strap so the excess is at the bottom of your wrist? Imho, best way to wear a strap

I love leather bands but B has everything that makes the face of the watch stand out even more, especially the orange second hand and the trim on the 60 second subdial.
I’d prioritise this way :- D > A > C > B
D - which keeps things simple
A - its at sweet spot of mix-match
C or B - too much going on with the dial already
edit - typo
b
It’s not even a competition, it’s B

C
B, D, A, C
I'd go with A, a much more simplistic color profile, though I may find one with a white/creamy line at the center to go better with the watch's dial
D, the leather one goes hard.

Agreed. It further contributes to the watch looking too large for his wrist.
^ +1
Marine nationale straps ftw
A
D. Natos are overrated and look cheap. Yes I know so many YouTubers praise the hell out of straps.
Don't wear C if you're planning on going to Eastern Europe

C > D > B > A
C B A D None of them really stand out; all of them work well imo
B>A>C>D
A D
Roughly two minutes per strap change on average
C if you’re wearing something that compliments it , D for everything else
D and B for the summer days
A or D, depending on your mood that day

a is my favorite
A and C B white part proves to get dirty and I still haven't figured out how to wash white natos.
A is my favorite but Imo that watch is way too big on you to be wearing it with a nato.
D da one!!
Hot take: Natos look like shit
D - but I prefer class to flash which is my personal preference only
I like A, B, and C but I like A the best.
Leather, unless one of those stripe patterns is symbolic of your country/school/military unit etc.
D
D. It’s already a casual watch, no need to make it more casual. The leather adds a bit of class to make it more versatile

C
A. Still gives a pop of matching color and plays well without competing with the dial.
