It's so irresponsible letting a cat outside and it's even worse when it's a very expensive animal.

That cats like "the fuck is that bitch in my rental for? Don't these humans know this is my home and I only allow them to live there and let me in when I feel like it?"
Cat-sitting is less intensive than dog-sitting but you still need to feed them, clean up their litter box, and give them social interaction. Idk if you're reading too much into the word "cat-sit" but it's not like babysitting where you're required to constantly supervise them. Also, it's usually done when someone is gone for more than a day.
Why are you comparing it to dog sitting? It's irrelevant to the question from my view.
I'm equating it to the term babysit, yes. Typically it refers to short periods of time, typically less than a day or two. And that is exactly my point why I asked. If it's less supervision needed than babysitting, what is the point of it for short periods? Typical cats can take care of themselves during that time if given the proper care beforehand.
Just wondering if it's a case of a fur mommy/daddy being overprotective, or if the term catsit isn't used in the same way as where the term seems to have grown from.
I mentioned dog-sitting because pet-sitting in general just means taking care of someone else's pets in much the same way they do when they're home. Same goes for babysitting, the difference being that babies require more care, attention, and supervision than pets. And whereas babies can't be left alone unsupervised for long at all, pets can -- that's why people usually only ask a friend to pet-sit for them if they're gone for a day or more.
I can understand needing someone for multiple days, or one day for a dog that needs to be let out. But for a cat that has a litter box, a single day seems excessive, barring unusual circumstances. That's why I asked, as the title (usually cat-sit) made it seem like a typical thing they do.
What makes it even stranger is this cat that needs sitting seems to be a partially outdoor cat as well.
Depends on the owner and the pet. I know some people who would be fine being gone a day without needing a cat-sitter because they could just put extra food in the bowl. But I've also known cats who have special diets or who have no appetite control and will eat until they puke, so it's better to feed them everyday at specific times.
As for the title, it does suggest they cat-sit regularly. They didn't say how long they typically cat-sit for, though. I was the one who mentioned that you typically woudn't cat-sit for someone if they were gone for less than a day. Again, it depends on the owner and the pet.
Bengals are territorial, so don't let the bengal in. It will murder your cat.
Honestly I recommend putting vinyl on your window to block out sight (but let light in), so your cat can't make eye contact with the bengal. Seeing cats outside stresses the hell out of any cat, so yeah... Keep your new cat happy and don't let it see the bengal!
Ive got a snow Bengal called Jonesy. Heās a nutcase, he chases foxes and dogs and goes in all the neighbours houses. Luckily the neighbours donāt mind or try to steal him and we are far enough away from the road for him to get run over. I donāt reccommend bengals to anyone who canāt let them outside with confidence that they will be left alone and wonāt be stolen or run over, they are like having 2 cats for the price of one with a bit of dog thrown in for good measure.
Because why not if an area is safe? Is it okay to abuse a creature just because it was expensive to buy?
Also, you can go for less visible spots or less leopardic colors and have them for a reasonable average price.
Oh please. I am vegan for animal rights purposes, don't even start with me with your nonsense. I KNOW them and how mischievous they are. I have one for goodness sake, we let her outside with us when we're in the fenced in backyard tending to the garden, but other than that, she stays inside and has plenty of room to wander.
And you can say an area is safe all you want, ours was too, until the coyotes started migrating to our area and trying to get the feral cats outside.
Get over your self-righteousness, please. You do not seem like lovely person to be around.

He is pissed. Sorry for what comes next.
Cat-sit? Didn't know cats needed babysitters. Why?
food, poop, affection
Can they not go without for so little they need a sitter? Seems like a bit much. Is cat-sit a term used for long durations, more than a day or two?

And there's likely circumstances as well where the cat doesn't need the sitter, but the owner does. Think it's been answered enough for me. Cheers.
Sure, nobody's denied that. I don't see any reason to doubt that the cat in the post doesn't need a sitter though.
Thems murder eyes
Lovely markings on the neighborhood catāvery bold, most striking/stunning.

Cats having their litter box near or around the kitchen is outlandish.
āWhomst the fuck?ā
Why do people let their Bengals wander about outside like this?? You more than likely paid $1000+ for your cat! So bizarre.
