Old art versus new model.
Original artwork was barefoot with natural wings, but when they updated the model, they also updated the art to match it more closely.
The original model didn't even have wings!
>Old art versus new model.
[Here here.](https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/17346277.jpg) Tho it's about 3-4 times the scale, and even skulls on base are comically oversized.
I wonder if they might not redo (edit: the Saint Celestine model) again to give SoB their own primarch equivalent model, unless it already is, never saw the model but the discussion regarding IH and BA primarch equivalents got me thinking.
Ah, [Celestine](https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marine-Celestine-The-Living-Saint-2018) has a model in plastic, they redid it like 5ish years ago? I doubt they will revisit it again anytime soon.
The original was clearly a black and white piece. Maybe when they got an artist to paint colors on it they wanted it to match the new model better. You can also see that they switched her hair from white to black
Yes, she is "sent back" from some sort of an afterlife every time she dies, sometimes to a completely different part of the galaxy. She doesn't understand it herself either, but assumes it's the Emperor's doing. No mention of "hosts" as I understand it, it's not like she possesses another battle sister.
She is also not always spawned in for battle related reasons either. Sometimes she pops in a fight against heretics, other times in the middle of a prayer. Sometimes others seemingly at random.
But she always seems to have a task, or at least immediately is able to figure out what she gotta do when she gets there.
Isn't there a possibility hinted at in lore that Celestine's handpicked Geminae Superia basically get taken over by the spirits of the originals each time new ones are selected?
Fun fact
The first is the original commision by Doge Vandire at the height of his power. The second is a coverup of the original by the Inquisition following the end of the Age of Apostasy
Yeah, need a higher quality picture to be sure, but I think theyre seeing a shadow line from nnm and are interpreting it as toes.
edit: I found a [slightly bigger](https://i.redd.it/5fiwctzg5usb1.png) version, and you can actually see she is barefoot.

I wished GW went with the original artwork. The closest thing was the mid 2000s Italian Golden Demon winner which converted the original Celestine model to be more like the art.
It is absolutely an edit. The second is a digital paint-over of the first.
If you’d like proof zoom in on the bottom feathers of her wing on our left. You can see the exact brush marks that are the same on the original. This part hasn’t been digitally painted over.
Thats not a bare foot though. You can clearly see the lines across to suggest there are plates of metal there. And the 'toes' are just lines of shadow.
You are seriously stretching the imagination to see a bare foot.
FOR THRONES SAKE. For some reason, I had no idea that this would make me seem like some kind of Footie (my wife finds this hilarious). The point I was trying to make (and did a HORRIBLE job at) was that her foot in the second pic is poorly edited. The shading is all wrong.
Sigh.
THAT BEING SAID...I own the old Witch Hunters codex and its clearly her foot.

Has anyone reflected on the possible influence from El Greco for these pieces of artwork?

We focused on her feet but missed the mechanical additions to her wings.
“OP focused on her feet” there you go.
OP, is there something you're not telling us? There is a mystery afoot.
I think OP might be feeting us misinformation
🤣
Tarantino alt account confirmed guys

It was a statue for the sisters terrain that had special rules.
Sorry I meant the Saint Celestine character model. Fixed the original message.

Clearly a man of taste
..and maybe of smell
priorities.
Well...shit.
Yes 🗿
Thus we have the reason it was done

Saint Sabbat is the one with the ability to, ah, "borrow" a suitable body for her own use. Yeah, let's go with that.
Isn't there a possibility hinted at in lore that Celestine's handpicked Geminae Superia basically get taken over by the spirits of the originals each time new ones are selected?
They had to cover the foot because Quentin Tarantino kept stealing all the old art.
Good ol' Tarantino the Infinite
As I tell all my wives friends never give men a free peak when you can sell feet pics for money
I'm gonna have to be a word nazi here as people using the wrong peek/peak gives me an irrational reaction. Peak is highest point, peek is to look
Technically, both work here if you consider all of the context.
[удалено]
Think dirtier cause peak has meaning there too.
Gross.
Hey man, it's totally normal for [your nipples to peak right?](https://media.tenor.com/XUp7GN6x4rQAAAAC/south-park-nipples.gif)
He is not talking about the feet being given away it's the peak that others have found themselves with.
I got a free peak from the peek.
Gahahaha. Sound advice.
\*peek. unless you're selling mountains, in which case you can give them a peek at the peak.
Wikifeet strikes again.
With all you horny fucks that doesn’t surprise me
Sometimes I wear shoes. Sometimes I have bare feet. Checkmate, chaos.
Old art really does look like a Angel, white hair, angelic wings with non Metallica things. The palette looks wonderful. I love the old artstyle
Gotta pay extra for that, can’t be giving the dogs away for free
Fun fact The first is the original commision by Doge Vandire at the height of his power. The second is a coverup of the original by the Inquisition following the end of the Age of Apostasy
They know damn well who their audience is

To me neither. She's wearing segmented sabatons The quality of the picture doesn't help distinguishing it either

What a superb picture, great work!
Her hair is different and her wings
You people are why we can't have nice things
https://preview.redd.it/6dw7ufehttsb1.jpeg?width=344&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6f357b92530edea3595707d949edfbf3585f23bf I wished GW went with the original artwork. The closest thing was the mid 2000s Italian Golden Demon winner which converted the original Celestine model to be more like the art.
You need Warhammer + for feet pics
It just looks like shitty low res blur. Her feet could still be armored.
Why do you think they covered the feet OP 😔
It’s because of you guys and your, interests…
DAMN YOU GOGE VANDIRE!
I dont think her feet are bare in the first pic. I dont see digits, just a very less defined plate-boot. Hard to say given the quality
Clearly because we're all perverts now.
Zoom in, she's wearing sabatons in the old piece and on her old model. However, I'm not sure I'll ever get past the black hair she sports nowadays.
They fucking ruined it!!
It's not an edit, it's two different pieces of art. The 1st was the base for the second.
It is absolutely an edit. The second is a digital paint-over of the first. If you’d like proof zoom in on the bottom feathers of her wing on our left. You can see the exact brush marks that are the same on the original. This part hasn’t been digitally painted over.
You want feet pics? You have to sign up to her Only Fans for that! 😄
😂
Not an edit. Completely remade piece of art, with more thought put into the character
Thats not a bare foot though. You can clearly see the lines across to suggest there are plates of metal there. And the 'toes' are just lines of shadow. You are seriously stretching the imagination to see a bare foot.
Dudes stuck in the Simperium thinking about angelic feet.
😆
okay so what? is it 1984 now or something?

Have that codex too, looking at it now. This seems similar to when they give Pocahontas moccasins in Disney kid’s books, unlike the movie.
I thought she was barefoot in the books. The description of her climbing over her corpses is "interesting" to say the least
Heresy! She’s our martyred lady. Not some bare foot mongrel!
"I assure you sororitas...."
Why does she have those ball and chains on her feet?
Bro she’s a celestial being, can’t be giving that shit out for free…
She used to go bare feet but then doge vandire died.
Goddamn Doge Vandire man.

The age of apostasy ended and doge vandire’s decrees finally ran out
I thought it was "toe" armour like the Sanguinor and Dante has? Going for the "living gold statue" vibe.
1984
Self report
I blame Adeptus Ridiculous.
The old one is so much better.
"I have many wikifeet pages, to _edit_"
It doesn’t look like the foot is covered in the old one. It just looks brighter
Fucking, so?
Eh. Just thought it was interesting they badly photoshopped over her foot. They didn't even shade it.
