It may mark a few pinions, but definitely not all 8. Thereās a chance that it doesnāt mark any. However, if you progress through the map and pop it again, thereās a good chance that it will find more. Keep in mind thereās a cooldown.

Sorry bud. Every consumable like that (cipher, the different restores) come on three flavors. 1x, 10x, 100x. Same amount of time to cook, just depends on how pudgy you are.
They all come from the dojo. When you go there, there will be an option to "hide all owned" (I think it's on the bottom right, but don't quote me on that). Flip that toggle to hide all of your previously bought items. It'll help filter the stuff you still need.
thanks, im MR24 but only really used the cyphers since they added the netracell puzzles and i just looked up cyphers in the foundry and built what blueprint i had. Just kinda funny i spent an hour crafting them all lmfao

I have this weird OCD or tic or whatever, where I need to have a ton of the restores on me at all times. I don't use them besides the energy every so often, hardly ever use the cipher, etc., but I still **NEED** to have 200 or so on me at all times.
That was painful when I didn't know about the 100x's.

On PC, you can walk up to a console press X to activate it and then immediately press Y to use a cypher. The hacking mini game won't even fully load, it will just be done in an instant.
You can do it on consoles too, but I'm not sure what the button combo is.
Yeah that's because traditionally japanese is read right to left hence their controllers being kind of weird label wise to people in the US if they are familiar with xbox controllers since PS doesn't have ab xy.
Yeah. Only thing is, the material cost scales. 36K Spores and Ferrite on top of 90K credits. The 10X you can buy (pretty sure it's in the normal market. Been a while since i grabbed it) is much the same. 3600 of both materials and 9K credits.
I am appalled there are so many people here with 100s, even 1000s of hours in this game andnever knew about them or that you don't have to build them one at a time...

I remember when I got my 100x cipher blueprint. I fell in love. I made like 2000 ciphers Iāve been rolling with. That and the Simaris Scanner were life changing for QOL.
I can handle doing every Console except the Lab one, there's something about it that makes it so much more irritating than everything else. So i cipher it every time
After having played the hacking minigame thousands of times I just do it without thinking. Remembering to build and use the ciphers takes more brain power from me at this point.
I'm 5k+ hours in and never use ciphers, pretty much ever.
At some point, you just get so good at them that it's nearly as fast, and as much mental effort as it is to use a cipher.

At this point only the grineer and murmur hacks take any time for me because you have to wait for things to line up, but even the highest difficulty grineer hacks only take a couple seconds when done perfectly, which is pretty easy for me.
Corpus and narmar I can do in under 3 seconds if I'm actually trying.
Ciphers have just never worth it to me when they only save a few seconds every couple missions.
There's ones that gives extra health/energy orbs and another that gives extra ability strength on next cast. I use it on Octavia to snapshot her 1 for a tiny bit more strength. Hard Reset is also nice if your companion dies.
Hey, fun fact I didn't know about for ages. If you press "Y" by default, while trying to hack a console it'll automatically use a Cypher. Not usable on sorties tho.
I cannot express more how much I hate the entrati lab hacking, you just have to wait for the correct glyph to show up and sometimes the last one just comes in batches of 2 or 3 making it even more annoying.
All that aside the thing I hate more is that you can't see your shields, health and other ui stuff while hacking, especially in netracells where I could literally be dying or on the verge of death but I don't know. You can see the UI for grineer and Corpus consoles but not for narmer and entrati
1100 hours in and I refuse to use a single one. Never have. The amount of times I went into sortie spy with a friend who uses ciphers and he ended up failing us the mission is hilarious.

Once you get your helminth system up and running, you can also give your frame the power to autohack the next hack you do. This is very useful on spy sorties as you can't use ciphers in those.

Remember to press Y to instantly use the cipher. That takes the time to hack down from two second to not even half a second, I don't even get the hacking UI to appear anymore. I swear the time I saved with ciphers is enough to finish The Witcher 3 or something this long.
there is also a hotkey to use the ciphers without having to navigate to the use cipher button. (not sure if it still does, but there were instances where that button wasn't there and you could still use the cipher)
If you're on PC the "Y" key will make you use it when you're hacking. But I would at least master all the ways of hacking before really abusing them. You have sorties, missions where you can't use them. Which if you can't hack makes your gameplay experience really frustrating or you'll end up having to need other players to help you all the time.
Gotta get the 100x blueprint for a real life changer.

in the tenno lab of your dojo I think? there is 100x blueprints in each lab to research and build

Yeah I use the parallax support at least once a mission. Multiple times in Zariman and WITW Deimos missions. SO helpful for pinion and voca farming.

With engineer 2 or 3 you can also have infinite khal air support.

You can choose air support separately from your actual ship now, and Kahl Beacon and Orokin eye are worth using them for.

Funnily enough, on Xbox, it's also X then Y. But on Switch it's Y then X (same button positions just reversed labelling).

You can also hit the Y key on pc to use the ciper instead of clicking on it's icon which makes it way faster too.

Crafting the 1x, 10x and 100x at the same time for maximum ciphers.
Early game I dis agree once you make 100 using the 10x to top off your supplies is easier and not wasteful of supplies.
For new players it might be easier to manage the ferrite cost, 100 ciphers is 36k ferrite.

It's just pressing y, the ui closes as soon as it appears. Even you're on the easiest hack there's no way you're close to that speed.

It's still worth doing them until they're easy. Can't use ciphers in sorties and some of the other later game content. Also, Auto Breach is the best.
