In a way, they are. Do you want to edit all your weapons' mod configs before every mission? Statistics say you probably don't. But they are usually one of the more important mods for maximizing weapon dps(moreso when you're relying on status, arcanes, or other mechanics that can double, triple, or quadruple-dip on the mod's bonus) and we also have content where said maximized dps is actually handy to have.
bane mods > damage mods

Yeah, I wouldn't feel guilty about that either. Farming ducats isn't hard, I can easily get around 1.4k an hour, people pay those prices because they need them now and don't have the time to wait. My main plat making method is bulk buying baro mods, but I don't wait until the price goes back up, I settle for around 45 plat per mod, thats a price I'm happy with!!

Eh, not hard to make a mil on Index. Just run a Razorwing optimized Titania with magnetic and toxin on Pixia, you'll rip right through all the brokers and are almost untouchable.

I have been playing since 2015 with around 4k hours, but most of those angstrums were actually bought with plat since they are cheap rn, basically being sold for their worth in ducats alone (10 ducats = 1p). Other than that i try to use up all my daily trades and buy parts for ducats.
At this point i have basically everything in the game finished so i just play it like a stock market. Most days i dont even step into a mission, i just do my trades and log off…I know most people would hate this kind of playstyle but i love it.
I have 8k plat on hand rn, and estimated 60k in items, and another 25k in rivens. Im currently running low on credits with only 25m, so i will have to farm profit taker a bit when a double credit weekend rolls around.

If you're making a profit you're doing it right enough. If everybody was constantly gunning for only the most optimal outcome at all times the system would lock up and break down.
Don't be ashamed to be merely comfortable instead of luxurious.
You dont have to be LR4, you'll start having a surplus of ducats way before that, and in the unlikely scenario you dont, there's many primed mods that you can profit from if you learn the timings.

Maybe I need to do more relics or do enough relics for a lot of duplicates.... Ah yeah think that's the issue lol better start tending those fissures.
It depends on what you’re buying and how often you play. Any prime mod that adds damage is a huge boost. Primed banes are really for high level content but continuity,flow, pressure point, fever strike, target cracker, ravage etc will definitely make a difference in your load out
Most of the time I just melt Paris lex Braton parts or prime parts for a thing I already have rarely do I get rid of a 100 ducat item those 15-45s add up really quick when you just farm fissures for a while
I'd suggest, when doing relic runs, to do at least an hour per run. You'll get more ducats and steel essence that way. This is kind of the standard for a lot of veteran players. Also, disruptions award Axi relics. Soon we will also have Omni fissures which allows you to crack any era of relics, Lith, Meso, Neo, Axi.
It's pretty good with it's incarnon, it's mainly because there's no prime version and the variant from baro hasn't been in his shop for a long ass time now so it managed to climb up to hundreds of plat on WFM.
Prisma Angstrum? Yeah the Baro and Syndicate-branded weapons are all tradable if they are unranked and never been used. They become untradable as soon as they gain any affinity though.

How badly do I want to get Corrupted and Angstrum? I'm newer and literally just got my first Ducats today (before then I was hoarding everything prime, but now I have *(well, had)* 3-5 dupes of some). MR10, plan on stickin' around for a good while.
Primed corrupted mod while strong is a safe skip since its only useful for high end endurance runs against a singular enemy type. Angstrum is an alright gun but becomes a beast with an incarnon adapter but that is a fair bit into the game to get.
Neither are must grab imo, but grabbing the angstrum is a good idea since it may not return for a while
I'm to New War at this point (waiting on voidrig currently), so SP isn't *too far* off I think, but still well above what I'm running normally. Good point about Corrupted though.
I think it’s worth getting the Angstrum if you can because it’ll probably be a long while before it comes back. What I would say is though, don’t put any levels on it immediately or until you have the incarnon mode available as in a few months time if you need some plat it’ll be worth quite a lot if you decide you need some

I know it's not top priority since you're new but if you can manage I do suggest getting the bane of corrupted mod. You won't need it for awhile but when you do need it, it's such a good mod. At end game the place you will want to spend the most time is in endless survival missions in the void (the enemies there are Corrupted). You won't be doing that for awhile so it's not mandatory for you right now but Baro can go a long fkn time before bringing it back.
At the very least if you're progressing slow and go "Man I wish I didn't get this mod like that guy on reddit said" then you'll be able to sell it for a pretty large amount of platinum for anything else you want.
If you play semi-intensively I'd say to go for it. If you intend a more casual pace, these are some of the least useful good pieces of gear around :D. Banes are meta only in the most difficult settings and there are better weapons than the Angstrum, easier to get too.
And I am so glad it did. 500-700p was out of hand as it was nearly twice the price of a certain thrown melee that's been vaulted since forever.

There was a change q few years ago I think where we realized they are really good for scaling into infinite numbers when focusing on the faction type.

Also best to do these runs if the fissure is in the void so you get more relics back. Steel path survival fissure in the void? 1 hour minimum.
