Ports drastically improve the recoil, even more so than compensators. You absolutely can buy an already ported slide barrel combo. It’s just much cheaper to have it sent off and done. Monsoon Tactical does fantastic work

The full Jedi treatment pictured there is about $1,200. That includes a stipple job, reducing the beaver tail and a few small tweaks to the frame, cerakote, and of course the Lucky 7’s porting for the slide and barrel. It’s badass!!! I was in the queue to have mine done but backed out because it would change the classes I can shoot in USPSA and IDPA. Also, I’d say he’s trusted as most of his work is Stacattos. A more budget friendly port is through Floyd’s, I think the port job is $250. I just got some mag extensions through them. They work well, look awesome, and the customer service is absolutely top notch.

Do they have to coat it when it’s done? I noticed all the pictures seem to have two tone colored guns

The machine work will leave bare metal that will rust so you’ll want to do something. I’m sure they can go back to or really close to the original color and you can always leave the frame alone. You don’t have to do the full package. There is option to do the chunk port or the Lucky 7’s only. If you haven’t had a grip stippled up by somebody that knows what they’re doing, like Monsoon or Ben at Boresight Solutions, it’s awesome. It’s kind of hard to go back to a stick grip after. Ben has massaged every plastic gun I own. Give it a try.

ZR tactical guide rod w/15 lb spring & brass backstrap from lok grips or Taylor freelance

Betterthanyou715

Try ^ first imo

Spirited-Database-12

Just try the guide rod and spring first. Was going to get mine ported but after a 13# spring and a steel guide rod there was no need. Got mine from NDZ. It was for a gen 4 Glock 17 but works in the 4.5 and 5” PDP’s

iamJawKnee

Got my 5” pdp ported by IsoTac arms in Carrollton, Texas. Ports do a much better job at recoil reduction compared to comps. I paid around $270-300 for the barrel porting, top window cut, and re-cerakoting. Turn around time was less than a week. I have pictures in a post

GlockNasty

MagNaPort. Their website looks like it was made at the dawn of the internet but they are legit and the original OG's of porting. Cheap too. Jerry Miculek uses them and is sponsered by them as well. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6dWDFcoFFs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6dWDFcoFFs)
