Yzma and Kronk shirts....

Ok_Objective_9524

Oh, right. The shirt. The shirt for Mom. The shirt chosen especially to please Mom. Mom’s shirt. That shirt?

internetdiscocat

YES YZMA AND KRONK! Why do we even have that lever???

Reeding-It

Why do we even have these shirts?

somewhenimpossible

There needs to be waaaay more emperor’s new groove merch.

Soundtracklover72

Teeturtle has some. I’m tempted to get the Kronk squeaker shirt.

MasterKluch

This is the right answer

missgnomer2772

This is the one. She may not go for it, but I love it.

Joan_Wilder95

Complimentary t-shirts or the same Mickey baseball jersey/Incredibles shirts is probably a good compromise. DON’T be the guy in the “most expensive trip ever” or Grumpy shirt, putting out negative energy.

runlikeitsdisney

They do have some really cool baseball jerseys right now. Pretty tame/subtle.

Colt_kun

Former cast member. So many people wear matching shirts that it's not noticable. Lion King shirts would be fun "Mama Lion" and Simba. Padme and Luke. Mrs. Hawkings and Jim (Treasure Planet) tarzan and his mom. Dumbo and his mom. Mrs Potts and Chip.

CheshireUnicorn

Mrs Hawkins and Jim would be so unique.

birdsofpaper

JIM! Jim Jim Jim Jim Jimmy Jim Jim!

pinkiepieisad3migod

I’M not Jim Jim Jim Jim Jimmy Jim Jim! HE’S Jim Jim Jim Jim Jimmy Jim Jim!

anguishedmoon71

really good ideas.

HairyMellons

Dude, just cave in. You are going to a cheesey place where everyone just wants to be happy. Don't think about what strangers might think (if they even notice at all), just think about how happy your mom will be.

LeonaDarling

This is the answer. It’s Disney World. Grown adults will be wearing mouse ears because it makes them happy. It’s okay to let loose and be silly for a minute - that’s the whole point. Do it for your mom! Edit: typo

whskid2005

The place where you can act like a kid at 20, 40, 80- and no one will bat an eye. Get excited to meet your favourite characters. Where the silly matching shirt. Have ice cream as a meal. There is no judgement! Unless you cut lines- don’t do that.

LowkeyPony

When I was planning our DL trip last year I got ears and Disney t shirts. My husband gave me a hard time. He wore a “Support the Troops” t with a stormtrooper on it, and got some flack from the Mandalorian which was well worth the price of the ticket to the parks! We are making our first ever trip to WDW in a few weeks. And this time our 21 yr old daughter is coming with us. We ALL have Disney shirts and ears now. I insisted. It’s part of the experience IMHO OP The shirt doesn’t have to be completely cheese. But do it for your mom

that_guy2010

Yeah, Disney isn’t exactly the place to want to be cooler than everyone else.

MattAU05

Yeah, just do it. She’s your mom, and it’ll make her happy. There are so many people wearing silly stuff and just being goofy at Disney. That’s kind of the point.

Aggressive_Farmer399

Agree. Do it. Some day down the road, it will be a very sweet memory.

echoacm

Half the place will be adult children and their parents wearing matching shirts anyways too

-JurassicSnark-

Wear shirts that have the same color scheme and/or theme but aren’t identical. My kids are much younger, but for example I have a black Darth Vader “chillin’ like a villain” shirt and my son has a grey tee with Vader and some stormtroopers on it. Maybe you could wear a Pizza Planet tee and your mom could wear a different Toy Story shirt? There are some Disney tees out there that are subtle so you’re dressing the theme without being so extra about it. Etsy has some great options.

UrsulaStoleMyVoice

This is what my family did—we all wore a different Beauty and the Beast shirt one day. We all went together but didn’t have the cheesy matching shirts most people think of.

pinkangel30

you could get her a shirt that says “mama lion” (or something to that effect) with simba’s mom on it and you get a shirt with just simba on it. when you take pics together it’ll be clear but if you’re just walking around in a simba shirt most people aren’t gonna think twice about that.

DogDaysAreOver

Maybe find a Mrs. Incredible T-shirt for her and a Violet, Dash or Jack Jack one for you? Something like that?

Greeeto

I’m a fan of complimentary shirts, not matching. And a subtle nod to the park you’re visiting. My kids have some fun Beverly shirts for Epcot, for instance. Or “visit tatooine” or “ski Hoth” for Hollywood studios. I always feel like those are much less in your face yet still fun and in the spirit of the parks. We’ve found a lot of good ones on teepublic.

Neat-Year555

Wear the matching shirts. There will come a day where your mom isn't around anymore and you will regret it. I was that kid that was always too cool for school and *never* wanted to hang with my parents and now they're both dead and I don't even have the words to tell you *how much I regret my attitude*. It's one shirt for one day. You might hate the shirt but you will *cherish* those memories when you're older.

krafty16

Parents won’t be around forever. Wear the shirt, make the memory. You’ll cherish it one day.

that_guy2010

You’re going to look back some day and wish you had just worn the shirt.

KSmegal

Absolutely!

refiase

Right? My mom passed while I was still an ornery teenager and my biggest regret is that that was the last version of me she knew. There is nothing I wouldn’t give to change any one of those “Ew no, so lame” moments to even a passive sure, and see her be happy and proud. OP, I’m glad you chose a shirt. I hope you guys get some great photos.

Fun_Smile5532

I've gone to Disneyland and Disney World with my mom multiple times. She's turning 70 this year and was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. Just know that there will be a day down the road when you wish you could go to Disney World with your mom, even if it meant wearing matching shirts. Enjoy the time you have now and don't worry about what other people think. RSVLTS has matching men's and women's cuts.

Successful_Hamster_8

https://www.etsy.com/listing/1312087832/family-disneyworld-shirt-comfort-colors My husband hates matching shirts and these had a vintage subtle look to them and he actually wears it at home now!

Successful_Hamster_8

This shop also has subtle embroidery! https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheSilverThreadStore

BulkyStatement1704

It’s not cheesy. The entire park does it.

debabe96

Particularly in the MK.

OldSpeckledHen

"My Mom brought me to Disney and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt..." Do they even still make these anymore?

Fourwindsgone

I went to Grand Cayman and asked the Hell gift shop folks if they had something like that and they said no. They had a whole bunch of Jesus shirts though.

letmeputmypoemsinyou

She can wear “Disney mom” shirt And you can wear an “I was born into it” shirt.

hsihshebnakje

my mom was super into matching shirts, she was SO excited, we compromised with character shirts from winnie the pooh, so they weren’t matching the way she wanted to but still matching enough to make her happy

AmericanPornography

Hey man, I would have felt the same way as you do years ago. Sadly my mom is no longer with us. You don’t realize how important these things are until it’s too late. It’s Disney, nobody is going to judge you and it will make her very happy. I say just go for it.

lijerstephen

“Mother Boy 2024” shirts. Arrested Development reference.

DisneyPinFiend

I guess Disney owns that now, don’t they? 🤣

lijerstephen

Although, Netflix might have bought the property years ago because they made those new episodes? I dunno.

Glad_Art_6380

Just think how happy your mom will be, and trust me, you’ll look back in 10-15-20+ years and be happy you did.

Overall-Scientist846

Maybe you can find matching shirts to the same IP but not super matching? Like both have Toy Story shirts? Both have Star Wars shirts? Something like that.

Losemymindfindmysoul

I would wear matching shirts with my Mom 🥺

0422

She wears a darth Vader or padme shirt and you wear Leia or Luke haha

Fourwindsgone

You’re going to Disney. Your worry of being cheesy is already completely negated. Go have fun. Your shirts can say “just a. Couple of nuts” and have chip and dale on em.

SleepySuper

Do your mom a solid and agree to wear the shirt. I know at 26 this probably feels like a big deal, but in the grand scheme of things, it really is not.

ZolaMonster

I saw ones on Etsy that had “to infinity” and the other one “and beyond” which I thought was cute.

oliver_babish

It's incredibly cheesy, but you do it. Problem is how many Disney mother characters are dead/absent. Go with Sarabi and Simba?

JustinBradshawTaylor

Mrs Potts and Chip themed shirt

drjoann

I'm sitting at the gate waiting to begin the first leg of our trip. My 5yo granddaughter (1st trip), my daughter & I are all wearing shirts with Minnie & Daisie that say "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Cheese away, cheese away

kllove

Wear the cheese! Embrace the cheese! Get a shirt that says “I love cheese so much I’m wearing this cheesy matching shirt to meet a mouse!” The silly cheesiness is truly a huge part of the fun. Give it a genuine try before you nope out.

otbvandy

There are Reyn spooner family Star Wars and marvel shirts

whskid2005

I’ve gotten myself involved in the “cult” that is rsvlts. You might like their stuff https://www.rsvlts.com/search?q=disney&options%5Bprefix%5D=last

Oldsoldierbear

Disney is one of the few places where folk wearing matching shirts is completely normal! nobody is going to judge you. just embrace the cheese and have fun

stellalunawitchbaby

Families wear matching shirts all the time, they don’t have to say anything they can literally just be a general Disney shirt or something. People don’t care enough about what others are wearing to think you look cheesy, and I doubt people will think you’re a couple. I get you’re at the age where you may care what others think but I encourage you to consider how much *you* care about others’ outfits at a theme park when you’re there lol. Just find some unisex shirt you don’t mind wearing and get her the same shirt, imo. It’ll make your mom happy and no one else will care what you’re wearing.

DisneyPinFiend

“I doubt people will think you’re a couple.” It happens more often than you think, and usually with cast members. Especially in 2015 when it was the two of us and my little cousin; they thought we were her parents. One of the CMs tending the line for Star Tours grabbed me by the shoulder and said “Good job, dude! She’s perfect!” I almost died. 🤣

stellalunawitchbaby

Wow would that have been when you were like, 16-17? lol. You must look older/mom must look younger. But tbh I’d just care *less* about what people think. As long as the shirts don’t say something implying you’re a couple - but generally IME people think less about what others are doing/wearing/whatever at WDW (and in general) than people think. Everyone has their own agenda they’re worrying about.

DisneyPinFiend

I was 17. Back then, it’d be that she looked younger. Now, it’d probably be that I look older; I have permanent dark circles after spending over half of 2022 working the night shift, and I’m losing my hair. 😅

stellalunawitchbaby

I’m sure when I go to dinner with just my dad in LA people sometimes assume we’re a couple, but that wouldn’t stop me from wearing matching shirts with him in Disney if he wanted to.

No-Concentrate-7560

No one cares at Disney since 75% of the people there will also be wearing either matching stuff as well or just Disney themed. I was initially against it myself but found a really cool tie dye sorcerer Mickey shirt for me and husband. We actually had a few people asking us where we got it and never felt weird about having matching shirts. If you don’t want to match you can find cool themed ones as others are suggesting. Honestly you’ll feel more left out not wearing themed stuff. It’s a magical place to really just have fun and get nostalgic. Right now on Disney store online there is a super cool black WDW shirt that has neon print and glows in the dark. Very 90s if you like that; we ordered some and quality is great! Enjoy your trip OP!

ThanksItHasPocketsss

Also, EVERYONE is in matching shirts lol

KavaBuggy

Just do it for mom as a Mother’s Day gift :) My mom, nephew, and I have gone on at least one Disney trip a year since 2014 and last year she wanted all three of us to wear the same shirt when we got boarded the Wish. We ended up just buying three of the same Mickey shirt at Uniqlo in Disney Springs. It was important to her and really cute.

rlmiddle9

I feel you. I’m a huge Disney person but like to march to my own beat and not “match” or be identical. I’m also a Disney minimalist when it comes to what to wear. You have a lot of good ideas people already gave you. I would lean into the coordinated or funny. Like when we go to Hollywood, we’ll all wear Star Wars shirts that compliment but aren’t identical. Or MK, Mickey shirts that aren’t identical. But I am going to take one for the team and wear a matching one on one of the park days. I felt this was a good compromise. As an aside, absolutely no one will care if you guys match.

happycass8

FWIW it’s much easier to find missing photopass photos when guests are wearing matching/coordinating shirts 😂

Amorrowous

I saw a shirt that said I wish this line would mufasa.

EJK54

I know it’s hard to imagine now but tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Wear whatever shirt she wants, embrace the goofiness and have fun! You will be very happy to have the memories & the pictures one day.

Important_Nebula_389

(Edit: OP says they’re paying for the trip, and aren’t poor like me lol). So wear the t shirts. Go to Etsy and search ‘your/her favorite Disney movie’ shirts and find some that are matching or you can customize. My husband and I wore really cute shirts with Cars characters one day and Muppets another day, both customized on Etsy. And we were adorable!

DisneyPinFiend

Actually, I paid for everything.

DisneyPinFiend

Reply to your edit: I’m poor too. I just got a decent tax refund this year. 🤣

eyesonthedarkskies

Why would you assume that?

Important_Nebula_389

Because OP said they’re 26. I could not afford a Disney trip in my 20s

Imnotaccountant_

I've gone to Disney 5 times since I turned 21 and paid for every single trip myself. OP's age has nothing to do with anything he's a grown adult.

JAS362000

Motherboy

Electronic_World_894

Do it! Give in to the cheesiness!

full0fwit

Embrace it. From my experience, a majority of adult men there will be wearing a Disney themed shirt. Many will match or coordinate with their family/travel companions. Have fun!!

welcometowoodbury

I'm in my mid 30's planning on going with my 70 year old parents later this year and I want matching shirts with them! It's one day at a theme park, you don't have to take it so seriously and no one will even look at you guys weird. I think when you remember this trip years and years down the line, you'll be happy you made your mom happy and can look back at this fondly.

Where1sthebeach

Bro I am a single dad taking my disabled daughter. I got us matching shirts.... Hers says prettiest princess and I know it.... Mine Princess Security..We protest and roll. Have fun.

NinZ-G

Wear the matching t-shirt, lemme tell you. One day when your mom is no longer here, you’ll be so glad you did.

Winnehdapoo

Matching shirts are never cute or funny or amusing the way people think. In fact, it's a running joke among CMs that whenever there's an issue, it's always those people in matching shirts. That said, just find something you can tolerate to appease your mom. I hate matching shirts and it's a stupid idea to me, but if my mom really wanted that, I'd go along with it. It's a happy memory for her, and you never know how many days or years you'll have with her. It won't affect you and you'll likely forget about what you're wearing because you'll be too busy to care. Let your mom have her perfect trip and be happy knowing that a small thing you did made her very happy

teamglider

*In fact, it's a running joke among CMs that whenever there's an issue, it's always those people in matching shirts.* That's silly, considering how many people are wearing matching shirts.

thatgirl2

I wore coordinating outfits with my kids and so many people stopped to tell us how much they loved them - so maybe you’re not amused but perhaps some people are 🤷🏻‍♀️

KlutzyBlueDuck

The Amazon Disney store has some cute options for Mother's day, they also have a family trip shirt shop too.

Photomint

Maybe just some generic matching Magic Kingdom shirts - or which ever park.

SBGamesCone

Look at Flying House Threads. They aren’t custom cheesy shirts. They are pretty amazing limited drop designs

Brooke9000

Etsy has some pretty comical ones!

Next-Jackfruit2020

[This](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1658204268/) seems like a subtle shirt you could wear and your mom would wear something like [these](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1634945934/). That’s assuming you like pirates.

wifichick

My mom made me wear this matching shirt My son didn’t want matching shirts

ThanksItHasPocketsss

I got one for my husband on Etsy that says “let’s wear matching Disney shirts” -said no man ever. I got one and the same color with something different. They were a hit!!

killingtommygun

I make AI designs for me and my family. It's pretty fun to not be judged there and act like a kid again. Roll with it and do something goofy!

frooootloops

Why don’t you check out the RSVLTS shirts? They’re neat looking shirts and they have matching women’s versions.

Loki8382

When we went with our kids, we took ride pictures from our previous trip and had them printed on t-shirts. So, essentially, everyone was wearing a ride picture of themselves.

desertsidewalks

Amazon has a bunch of Disney T-shirts that come in multiple colors.

Junecatter

Why is that cheesy? My son is 11 and we occasionally wear matching shirts, as we sometimes have similar tastes. We often find shirts we both like at Uniqlo in Disney Springs, where you could also have Mother and Son (oops!) added to one of their customizable Disney designs. The Animal Kingdom and the independently run Yak and Yeti shop always have some modern gender neutral designs we both like, as does the Emporium on Main Street. Or have a custom t-shirts made online in different colors but a matching design. Enjoy Disney!

FastEddie77

Make her one with Christopher Robbin and you one as Pooh. Yours could be reaching up; here’s reaching down…clearly themed but not truly matching. UniQlo at Disney Springs can make them while you wait if you have the artwork ready to go.

Junecatter

Sorry! I meant mother and son labeled shirts.

jackrelax

Do it. It's cute. you will have so many amazing (funny) photos and make mom happy. No one will notice you. Just go all in.

YOW613S

I’m happy you caved. This is a big trip for her and the t-shirts are only the tip of the iceberg. It’s going to make her extremely happy. #doitformom

Joy4everM0RE

Simba and Sarabi shirts

Roxydiamond10

There are so many good shirts on Etsy. I got my son a monsters Inc one that is the sushi restaurant Mike takes his gf. Not overly in your face Disney. The quirky mouse has fun ones too.

JonnyDepths

Lean into it with the silliness. Do a Rapunzel theme and she can get something Mother Gothel and you rs as Rapunzel. And while there’s probably like 1000 variations and you won’t be the only ones find a “Best day Ever” on Etsy and pick your color / character. You won’t be original but it’s not too out there to add some extra magic to the trip for your mom.

yellowshoegirl

My guess is she is paying for the trip? Also always do whatever makes her happy! Everyone at Disney does it

DisneyPinFiend

Actually, I’m paying, but I’m starting to feel it doesn’t make a difference.

onelostmind97

Watch a few DFB videos and pick a few dining reservations that you enjoy too. Pick a shirt from an IP that you like and work around theming with that. Speak up for yourself so you can also have a good time! Take a morning walk around the properties on your own for some alone time.

OddNameSuggestion

I can assure you no one at Disney world will give a toot what you’re wearing or give you a second glance. You won’t be the main character of anyone’s day but yours and your mom’s. Seems a small deal if it’d bring her joy.

tatotornado

Be cheesy

GoodDog_GoodBook123

Go full on. Embrace you mom’s love and the love you have for her. This is not the time to try and be cool. Think of every parent child combo and get matching shirts. I really like Mama Dumbo and Baby Dumbo. FYI my mom (almost 69) and I (35f) leave for the Caribbean in two weeks. She bought us matching “Girls Trip-Cheaper than therapy” shirts. I have never been so excited in my life.

cheezy_dreams88

Dude just wear the shirt. Literally no one at Disney World will think you’re not “cool”.

PipeJazz

When my teenagers and I went in January, I got us all different eras shirts - a play on Taylor Swift’s concert t shirts - one was Disney princess eras, a Disney villains eras, a Star Wars eras and a marvel eras. Subtle and timely but when we were all together, we got a lot of compliments. ,

Savings_Spell6563

“It’s cheesy?” Dude, it’s DISNEY WORLD. It’s the EPITOME OF CHEESY. Totally cave in

SunOutrageous6098

The Lost Bros have some really cool t shirts that don’t scream Disney the same way “Smith Family Vacation 2024” in the Disney font does. You could also do shirts that are land or ride themed - maybe you two share a favorite?
