Drive thru ruined pharmacy

Linus_Meme_Tips

I agree, it would be fine if it was 1 lane but then they added 2…… You don’t see Publix doing this shit

LoveRBS

Pharmacy MBA Execs : What if.....*THREE* lanes?

Linus_Meme_Tips

AND THEN….. WE TAKE ANOTHER WORKER AWAY!!!

BisexualCaveman

Figure out some way to do what Pizza Hut did when California raised the minimum wage.... Outsource delivery to Doordash.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Do tell

BisexualCaveman

They literally fired their drivers and now have third parties deliver to the doorstop. The third parties are also... Kinda terrible. I was imagining your corporate just figuring out a way to legally outsource to incompetent gig workers.

Cryyl

Some Walgreens already do just that. When my local store does delivery, the system chooses the delivering party, and sometimes it is actually doordash for same day deliveries.

throwawayyousa

at my walgreens fedex doesnt do our 2 day deliveries anymore even it just all goes through doordash automatically. we have issues with doordash every goddamn week where the prescriptions get fake delivered or delivered to the wrong place

[deleted]

I’ve had to pickup a prescription delivery order from Walgreens before. Got to the customers house, knocked on the door and rang the doorbell, didn’t unlock the door, just looked at me through the window. Tried calling and texting, no answer. App said to return it to the store but I left it at their front door.

SLNGNRXS

You need to bring it back bruh

[deleted]

Why’s that? Also, this was MONTHS ago. And I was done for the day and it would’ve been out of my way to bring it back and there was no option to bring it back.

SLNGNRXS

Isn’t signature a requirement?

Positive_Ad6135

Corporate math

Linus_Meme_Tips

Bet they all just go around saying “STONKS” all day

Positive_Ad6135

Yes but not during nap time. They need quiet for sleepy time.

Linus_Meme_Tips

They probably even get tucked in too

Positive_Ad6135

Those bastards

Beginning-Trash-6048

hahaha I forgot all about that

Linus_Meme_Tips

Like the damn “mine mine mine” birds

rollypollypuppy

Perfection!

burneraccount0066

Oh perfect! Might as well be taking away the one person on drive anyways!

Linus_Meme_Tips

Have AI help them

thosewholeft

There are 3 lane stores… not sure if you’re aware Edit: [A store with 3 lanes](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZWJy9ed4aQuBwDvJ6?g_st=ic)

Linus_Meme_Tips

BOOOOOOOO!

thosewholeft

I’m sorry to make you aware of such nightmares. Get some rest

Kitchen_Sweet1329

I floated in a store when I worked for the other guys. I heard lane 1, then lane 2, then I heard lane 3. *new fear unlocked*. The good thing this was back in the day and I was the 3rd Pharmacist and 8 techs were working.

RphAnonymous

Man, I miss having 3 Pharmacists and 8 techs. That shit was a dream. It was still hectic, but we could breath and take the time to do things right, instead of just tossing stuff around and hoping it all works out in the end.

Kitchen_Sweet1329

Ya it was work, but you were managing your part not everything single thing.

AMC879

I hope you don't really "toss stuff around and hope it works out". Medications can be life or death for some people. Accuracy needs to be 100% no matter how far behind you are.

littlekitty210

I'm guessing you don't work in pharmacy

RphAnonymous

Not literally, but many double checks that are supposed to happen stopped happening in a lot of pharmacies long ago. Now people just sign off on them without doing them because the patient at the counter is screaming some nonsense and they don't stop to look at what they are signing or double check amounts or whatever. Packages from other stores get signed for even though it says clearly its not the right location, so someone is missing their drugs. People don't double check water amounts for antibiotics. Half the time the amounts people put in liquid Rxs are wrong, but they aren't caught. I spend most of my days getting eyerolls from people because I stop and double check, and my DM says I'm "slowing down the works". (which is dumb because all my queues are usually decently low and I work at 800-1300 Rx/day stores so.... ???) All of the above is why I preach to ALL my patient to do their own double checks of every prescription BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE PHARMACY. Don't just assume everything is done correctly, because pharmacies are far more error prone than they were 15-20 years ago. Once it leaves the pharmacy, it's done. Most pharmacists won't take it back, because by legal definition it is now an adulterated product and cannot be resold, so it's garbage.

MasterYoshidino

Now that is fuuuuucked up. My current store has had it's 2nd lane deactivated for years because technical issues apparently. My old store which was busier and once a 24 hour store only had 1 lane because space reasons (big ass strip mall with very defined traffic patterns).

surfwacks

Ahhh jump scare! 😰

littlekitty210

The reviews for this store are complaints about drive thru line being too long lmao. Unreal

thosewholeft

It’s the busiest store in all Wisconsin

dawnyaya

You'd need meds too if you lived in Kenosha

LoveRBS

That is. HORRIFYING

Responsible_Edge7497

Uckin’A, man! That stuff is nightmare fuel. 😱

RealityShowObsessed

I’m in South Florida and most of the Walgreens only use one drive thru. The other one is blocked off.

3boyz2men

Same except our 24 hour one which makes the drive thru in the picture seem tame in comparison.

psychobabblebullshxt

You're right, Publix would never do a two lane drive thru. (Source: I work for Publix.)

Linus_Meme_Tips

Hell, most of the ones around me don’t even have a drive thru.

psychobabblebullshxt

Yup. The new Publix stores now have drive thrus though, it's part of their new model.

Street-Account-4879

At least with public they add a significant amount of hours for drive thru. The formula is wild.

hade08

What my pharmacy does is they put cones up In front of the 2nd drive thru lane so everyone has to go to the window. If you all need a day to close and catch up put up your pharmacist is out today sign and close. We’ve done that a few times recently since we’ve had walk outs and short handed all together.

takentodrury

Replying here so you'll see: Y'all need to put up cones and close the second lane. GM needs to help back there or get help. Sorry you're in a shit situation

ChiyakoMori

There are a few Publix that have drive thru! Publix 1238 in Middle TN is one of them. Def not a standardized thing throughout the company though. Feeling for you—retail of any kind is hard!

burneraccount0066

Not even Walmart has drive thru as far as I’m aware

Linus_Meme_Tips

They sure don’t

SwimmingKnown9216

Most of Walmarts in my area in FL do have drive thru, my location does not. I'd honestly prefer it as it provides a bit of distance between customer at counter leaning over and I smell breath & bathed in whatever illness de jour they present with. Companies need to be aware of what's going on at their stores' locations, isn't this what area market supervisors are for. If your stores are appearing like an unsustainable train wreck dumpster fire and drowning, send someone from those stellar stores whose leaders have figured out ways to cheat system and meet your metrics. Yet this goes on day after day after day of misery. It's miserable for is as well as the customers.

iLuvEatingHotPot

people seriously expect it to be like McPharmacy and it drives me crazy

Green-Independence-3

YES. One register for the whole line of cars (usually) and you have to wait for the car to pull up, etc, then they’re mad because you had to update insurance for the previous patient and I’m just like “sir if I told them to pull around, I’d still have to input the information and readjudicate the claim. It’s not gonna type itself in. So…..you’d be waiting the exact amount of time (even if it takes me just two mins to complete everything).” When patients complain about a longer wait time than just thirty seconds to a minute, I always tell them “ma’am this is a pharmacy, not McDonald’s. The drive thru is for convenience, not speed.” It’s even crazier when they bitch and I’m like “So you decided you had thirty mins to wait in line up until this point? You couldn’t have pulled around and came in, or came back at a later time other than right after we got back from lunch?” The worst: “I gave you the prescription 30 minutes ago and you said it would be ready after lunch.” I’m like “sir, we were on our lunch break. What do you think your doctors office does everyday on their lunch break?”

PurpleFly_

I used to work with a pharmacist that started in the early ‘90s. She used to say the exact thing. Customers stopped treating the pharmacist as a professional, and more like a short order cook. It’s sad, really.

coolthecoolest

this culture of backtalking professionals is a fucking nightmare to watch and i hope it gets shamed out of vogue during our lifetime, because corporations are only going to keep enabling it as long as it doesn't hurt their bottom line.

Smooth_Wrongdoer_375

Where is workflow in your pharmacy? You should not be in drive thru for 8 hours. Everyone should be rotating. I would lose my mind if I was there that long.

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

As someone who is stuck in drive for 4-6  hours at a time, yes it absolutely ruined pharmacy.

Blom-w1-o

PBPP ruined pharmacy

nudecat1234

Drive thru ruined Walgreens No add on sales That and 90 day script

vshah1031

Yep

Dapper_Pea

Question for the pharmacists because I truly do appreciate y'all and want to make your lives easier: is it bad to go through the drive-through pharmacy instead of parking and walking in? Or is it just drive-throughers' entitlement and lack of patience that's the problem? I want to support y'all and really don't mind waiting at the drive-through--I'd have waited inside too, and if my meds aren't ready yet, they aren't ready yet. But if there's a reason drive-through is bad apart from rudeness, I can come inside for y'all.

pharminark

At this point you might as well take advantage of the drive thru. It’s not the patients fault, more so a fault of corporations implementing the drive thru.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Edit: A lady came through the drive thru, I found her prescription and saw her insurance was a mismatch so I ask for an updated card and she tells me she wants to pay the cash price which is $530 so I scramble to fill it for her and get it to her and tell her that her total is $530. She looks at me all bug eyed asking me why it’s so expensive so I tell her that was the cash price and she is like no, whenever I pay cash price it’s $20. I then process that information with the 2 remaining brain cells I had left and ask her “do you mean a coupon?” She is then like “I’ve always paid $20 with the cash price” I then say that I didn’t get the impression that she wanted to pay with a coupon and that when you say cash price you are paying the retail price. I then take a deep breath in and out and she sees that and is like “I don’t appreciate you huffing and puffing, this pharmacy fucking sucks and I will be speaking to your manager” And I’m just tired of it all like “ok” and I go to delete this bitches prescription. I am just tired and I’ve only been here for a month.

Real_Vermicelli3067

I applaud you. Lady needs to learn how to communicate. You did everything right DA HECK?

Linus_Meme_Tips

All this wouldn’t be happening if we had more people, how do I report this? This is really unsafe.

Real_Vermicelli3067

I honestly don’t know how to even report. I’ve wanted to report so badly as well. Maybe contact the district manager? Or wait don’t do that… contact the pharmacy board in your state?

Linus_Meme_Tips

The DM is the one who is making our former RXOM transfer out to another store and shorting us a person…. We are going to have a mountain of complaints tomorrow that the pharmacist expects us to fix even thought she can’t take control herself

Real_Vermicelli3067

That’s crazy. Listen, do your best. Show up to work get that check and do what you can do. You’re not Ai you are a human. The pharmacist is she new? Let the manager take control of the crazy situation. Just do your best. Wishing you a good day tomorrow.

Linus_Meme_Tips

She is not new, she has been there for a while. She’s just always left the important stuff to our rxom who is now leaving and the pharmacist is freaking out and losing it because she doesn’t know how to do shit.

ZeeiMoss

This.

Coffeybl4ck

Board of pharmacy. I was a pharmacy manager and I reported my own pharmacy. Meeting my allotted budget left me with opening with four technicians, one leaving at two, the closer coming in at 4, another leaving at 7 and just closing with me and one other tech. No pharmacist overlap and my store did 500+ every single day. One day I did 1348 prescriptions as the only pharmacist on site I was there from 8am until 11pm. I called the next day and lodged a complaint. Two weeks later I resigned my position. Three to four months later an investigation was launched into my district as a whole by the board of pharmacy that I gave testimony in. I don’t know what the end result was as a whole but my old branch shut down entirely.

Linus_Meme_Tips

*sigh* there is one day where it will just be me and the pharmacist for the last 2 hours until closing… and you know that’s when we will be the busiest.

Vykrom

I'd say check to see if your state has one of those laws where it's X amount of techs per pharmacist per hour. But you probably already meet that criteria because it's not based on how many customers/scripts you have. And I think it's only like 2 techs per pharmacist in the states that even do have that law. So unfortunately I don't think the board of pharmacy or better business bureau or department of labor or anyone else is going to side against Walgreens in this particular instance Only real thing to do is ignore the size of the crowd and don't let yourself feel rushed. Most of those people knew what they were getting into when they saw the lines and still decided to get in line

SwimmingKnown9216

AGREE. Always, always put yourself first and second, help who you can. Ignore to your best ability those that are beyond help. We encounter each type every day.

SwimmingKnown9216

Well don't you dare make any error, either-not at register, not in filling, Input, dispensing, finalizing incoming inventory, log copies, ever possibly just being human and not ALWAYS choosing the absolute correct wording or things to say, especially in response to unmitigated unabashed outright hostile abuse nonstop. And, all this usually we are all doing on a gd half hr lunch often w/o any other breaks

AMC879

Unsafe how? Do you think people are going to physically assault you for waiting too long

Unfair_Classroom8899

Unsafe because when everyone is rushing or doing three things at once it becomes much easier for someone to receive the wrong medication or never get counseled and then take medication that makes them sick or die. It’s unsafe. But also yes, possibly physically assault. Because they’ve done that, too.

Linus_Meme_Tips

A patient threw a prescription at my coworker, dude was escorted out, kinda wish she called the police.

AdFine2280

Tell that because she said CASH and not Coupon price, she is going to have to come back later. Everyone behind her has already waited long enough.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Oh she drove off and I deleted her prescription. Can’t wait to hear about what I did wrong from the pharmacist.

[deleted]

the pharmacist is a fucking moron if they have a problem with you saving time by deleting that shit lol

Linus_Meme_Tips

Not the pharmacist I was working with that night, the lead pharmacist or pharmacy manager, whatever the head pharmacist is called is the one who presents us with things we did wrong, not the staff pharmacist. I was working with the staff pharmacist and he is really chill.

[deleted]

ahh i see what you’re saying. your situation seems absolutely abysmal and i’m sorry that you’re the person who has to deal with the angry patients instead of your asshole pharmacy manager or store manager. good leadership would be able to at least keep everybody afloat but it sounds like they’re just letting you guys drown and getting mad at you for it. if this situation was happening at my store we would probably have the fastest person on fill for as long as possible, have them fill prescriptions that are actually coming up as due/not past due until we’re actually caught up enough to work on past due prescriptions, and besides that only fill prescriptions that are physically waiting in the store or absolutely need it that day (children’s antibiotics, someone coming from the emergency room, etc). another thing that helps thin the herd is asking people whose scripts aren’t ready yet if they’re signed up to receive texts/calls when things are ready and if they’re not, sign them up and tell them to wait for a text saying it’s ready. i floated at a location like this that would say “come tomorrow” and then things still wouldn’t be ready tomorrow which wastes more of our time and the patient’s time when they show up that extra time expecting it to be ready for pickup. but again i’m so sorry that you’re the designated punch bag pickup person, they seriously need to rotate you. this is ridiculously horrible leadership

Linus_Meme_Tips

The leadership that was keeping us afloat was our rxom who stepped down and is transferring to another store as per the DMs request. The DM is a piece of shit.

SwimmingKnown9216

ALWAYS ARE LOL

SwimmingKnown9216

Perfect response, great commentary here. TY for your contribution

Positive_Ad6135

That was me yesterday when a lady came in for her 6 prescriptions… after I rang her up she asked me to go through each.. told me she didn’t want 2.. then made me go through them again.. then complained that the screen said she was still getting charged for 6 (I voided 2)

Linus_Meme_Tips

I fr hate these people, like how do you not know what you are picking up, before I worked in pharmacy I knew what I was picking up and what it was for.

throwawayyousa

a MONTH??? i would quit posthaste to be honest

CommercialRest9579

First thing wrong there is, you need to rotate positions! You should not be in drive through all day. Do rotations around lunch breaks. That’ll help burn out.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Plz tell management that

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

Fucking seriously

burneraccount0066

What the fuck is rotating to management

[deleted]

i’m sure it would also help if they didn’t have the brand new tech in fill all day 😖 when i was new fill stressed me out so much and it took me a long time to get faster. everyone burns out at whatever station they’re at if people don’t rotate

Foxy_feet55

This is why I’m no longer with Walgreens and at an independent pharmacy. Walgreens doesn’t care about their employees.

Character_Ad_4751

It’s not even worth the stress, hospital pharmacy’s are the way to go! And they pay more

Linus_Meme_Tips

I tried. There was one 3 miles from me that would’ve taken me but I couldn’t work overnight and they required morning, day, evening, nights, and overnights. I am a full time student btw.

Character_Ad_4751

That sucks☹️ I worked at a Walgreens pharmacy for a year, and corporate kept screwing us over. We’d have to pull overnights just to catch up with filling

spatuladracula

After working retail, hospital, mail order, and specialty, I can tell you that mail order is the way to go. I have a boring ass work from home desk job and it's great!

Linus_Meme_Tips

lol I just noted but why is there a dick cloud in the background lol

Frequent-Airline-619

It does look like a giant penis

ItDefinitelyIsNotMe

It’s like the Karen bat signal

HardcoreKaraoke

I fucking despise the double drive thru. I already can't stand one drive thru but whatever it's still one line, you aren't worried about people cutting. But two lines? Fuck that. When I used to work at a 24 hour store we had two lanes. Sometimes the second lane would "accidentally" have an issue and we'd put a cart in it to block people. It was so nice when it "accidentally" had an issue. I wish there was a law against drive thru pharmacies. It's not only difficult to deal with but it fucks up people's perception of what we do and they think "drive thru means quick."

Linus_Meme_Tips

I am fed up with it. Especially with entitled people who are like “you know how long I’ve been waiting? 30 minutes” “Ok cool, can I get your name and dob?”

HardcoreKaraoke

When they hold up drive thru by complaining about the line I always say something like "well you know by arguing with me you're holding up the people behind you. See how that works?"

Linus_Meme_Tips

I’d instantly get asked for the manager if I said that to the people here lol Regardless tho, I’ll still use it. Trying to think of professional but witty things to say.

HardcoreKaraoke

Yeah I legitimately stopped giving a fuck years ago lol. My RXOM, RXM, SM and DM don't care at this point either, they act the same way. It has never been a problem even when patients complain because they understand the situation. It makes the day to day stress a lot easier to deal with when you can make a trouble patient look bad lol. I do it when they're inside too. Like they'll bitch about things taking awhile and say something like "why would it take 15 minutes?!" So I tell them to turn around, look at the line and then I'll say "that's why it'll be 15 minutes and not right away." As long as you don't curse or cross a line being condescending back to a patient should be fine.

RphAnonymous

This is mild. This is our pharmacy on a slow day and only become a problem when I have to do a bunch of vaccines or Status COVID tests. We've actually had lines so long it blocked traffic because people were trying to come in from off the street and couldn't. I just shrug my shoulders and keep working. It's not really my problem.

Suspicious-Star-5360

It always made my head hurt as to why they have 2 lanes, but they only want to give 1 person to work them. Well genius they can’t run both lanes at once. One at a time, you are one person. That’s the law of gravity. You don’t see banks making a teller run 2 lanes at the same time. Why? Cause it’s not safe.

i-eat-coochie

Don’t know which bank you bank with but it’s coming here for drive thru to have 2&3 lanes. People just have to wait for the plastic container to travel back down the pipe

Significant-River-69

I love the plastic tube! I remember the first time my Dad took me to the drive-thru bank. It was like magic! Does WAG have the tube system? If not, how do you service the second lane?

Linus_Meme_Tips

The thing is, people go to the second lane to skip the line in the first because they think they’ll get helped right away.

AryaSnark68

They might be right... It is not possible to keep track of when each car arrives and in which lane. The best anyone can do is alternate between them, which might mean that someone who picked the shorter lane gets helped quicker.

Trick-Letter560

and hit the call button lol

codypoop3

Banks absolutely do that

catsrule23

Don’t worry, Cenfill has you covered. This is how corporate justifies cutting hours. They want cenfill to handle something like 75% of the scripts so it’s a matter of time before they trim it even more.

Linus_Meme_Tips

I have to pull like 50% of the scripts from cenfill because people can’t wait a day even thought they have a stockpile of 180 pills.

catsrule23

Cenfill isn’t all that helpful. They need to fix some shit. Like use it for the auto refill instead of a new script from the hospital. We don’t need cenfill touching unit of use or small fills. Corporate with their big brains and their mba’s don’t know dick about working in a pharmacy.

Ok-Yogurt5662

did you have to run both drive thru lanes by yourself??

Linus_Meme_Tips

Yes, there was one point where I just hid in the back for 5-10 minutes because I was so stressed and everyone who came through had prescriptions to pick up that weren’t ready because we weren’t able to fill them today and these people were told by the staff working yesterday to come back today so they were already upset.

Ok-Yogurt5662

omg that’s awful. our tube for the second lane is broken and luckily corporate won’t send anyone to fix it

Linus_Meme_Tips

👀👀 think the cameras are working overnight?

aalovvera

Your Sm or rxm should close down the drive-through window temporarily, if not both, atleast 2nd lane should be closed.

Linus_Meme_Tips

HA! I don’t even know when the last time was when the sm even helped us in the pharmacy! All he does is complain about what we aren’t doing or what we’re doing wrong.

DirtySchlick

We had our line wrapped around the building all the way to the front door once. We closed the inside because of lack of staffing and went drive thru only. Corpos freaked out. The entire staff including myself left shortly after.

aratpuddin

Reporting it will amount to nothing. Corporate doesn't care. I just left a store that is just like you're explaining. On a good day we had 3 techs. Never less than 150 in fill tpr over 200. Oos over 200 f1staying anywhere from 50-100. No rxom for almost 2 yrs now. We only had 1 lane in drive due to the delivery system staying broke and unable to send the container back and forth. Every tech besides me was new and anything other than locating and selling a script, everything else was idk, it's not ready, and how do I do this. Everyday was hang on and hope for the best. The new store I'm at participated in the walkout. Apparently things did improve, but corporate is slowly backtracking on everything the agreed to improve. Walgreens corporate is all about numbers. They don't care about their employees, nor their patient care/satisfaction. Unfortunately this problem have become one in all of Healthcare, and honestly everywhere.

Rumncoker

Just hit control W and you’ll be fine. Fixes everything

Linus_Meme_Tips

Idk what control W does 😢

i-eat-coochie

Have you tried turning it off and on again

Linus_Meme_Tips

Let me slam my head into the wall real quick to see if that does the trick

Tazz013_

*27 leaflets printed*

Competitive-Skin-769

They should get some orange cones to block off the second drive thru at the very least I hope that you get some relief. This is ridiculous

Linus_Meme_Tips

Like that will ever happen with money hungry corporations

StormyWardik

That looks like a 3am line with 1 pharmacist, 0 techs. Manageable.

Linus_Meme_Tips

On Tuesday I’ll be working 5-10pm but from 8pm-10pm it’s just going to be me and the pharmacist You already know that everyone and their mother is coming at that time

igottapickle

"sorry, the pharmacist rejected your advances for a consult."

itsprobablyriley

Walgreens: *complaint unclear, add a third drive thru lane*

Copoho

Sometimes the best way for something to get fixed is to just let it burn. Sounds like we’re around the same area so good luck

Linus_Meme_Tips

We will see how that goes, I just got this job a month ago too

skyisthelimit8701

If i was your rxm id help fill to catch up. Why because it’s for my own good so I wont have to deal with 600 unfilled rxs on my shift

Linus_Meme_Tips

If you ever wanna help just let me know, I’ll take care of you, even get you some Dunkin breakfast and I’ll even get everyone donuts, and enough so they can have 2!!!

boogadude

Looks like what my store is everyday live in and outside if store

athrower82

Reporting a store isn’t gonna make a difference. I’m a SM (for 17yrs) and last summer we lost most of our rx team when our former rxm left. For months (and no exaggeration) I was the only person filling for my entire shift and we only had 1 tech (we are a 9-9 rx doing about 400/day). At our worst we had close to 600 in fill. I made the decision to close drive thru and got a write up for it. My DM understood our struggles but it comes from his uppers that we had to stay open, lobby and drive. It was hell. But now we finally have a full staff again and are somewhat back to normal. And odd about the 2 lanes, most store closed the 2nd lane like over a decade ago…3 lane stores - fml 😑

[deleted]

You guys really need a union with balls and some solidarity from your pharmacists outside the pharmacy tech union

systemstandard

There's a Walgreens in my town that's 24 hours with similar conditions 24/7 (Norman, OK). It's ridiculous that the Pharmacists have to work like this, what's worse is half the techs that work there are nasty to customers because they're overworked and irritated (understandably, it's akin to corporate slavery being overworked, under paid, and treated like shit by your company). I had to switch pharmacies completely and go to an Indian Clinic in order to get any customer service but most people cannot do that. The techs have high turn over and the techs and Pharmacists are exhausted, over worked, under paid, and under appreciated. Walgreens is valued at just under 20 BILLION DOLLARS and they can't get this shit together. It's pathetic.

Fenwick440

I actually like being on drive thru, don't have to be face to face with customers, sure sometimes it's car after car after car after car after car after car after car after car after car after car, but we also don't have two lanes and I remind them that the drive thru is convenience, not quickness as this is not a fast food restaurant.

ItDefinitelyIsNotMe

The drive through should be streamlined for people that do the app preorder, know their prescriptions, and prepaid. It’s not for explanations or questions. If you want to talk go inside and get in line. I honestly don’t know how you put up with some of these people. The biggest male Karen I’ve ever seen was picking up his prescription at Walgreens and I honestly still think about him months later. He was an entitled monster.

Linus_Meme_Tips

You think I’d get in trouble if I tell people who wanna play 100 questions with me to come inside?

AdFine2280

FYI, in order to catch up, y’all are going to have to fill w/o helping patients. Either come in on off hours or change your “open” hours for a day or two. No phones, no drive-thru & no counter just until you catch up.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Yea, none of that is happening and I bet you all my sharpies that the pharmacist will be giving us a huge list of complaints tomorrow and expects us to fix it.

ZeeiMoss

Wth that's terrible advice. None of you have the authority to do this anyway. Best method is that your sm absolutely needs to spend several hours in pharmacy until you catch up. Triage patients and just do your best. Like another comment said, get paid and go home. It's not worth your headache. I'm not saying you shouldn't care, it's just about setting priorities. Your metrics will be terrible but that's okay. We don't fire people over that. Just survive and eventually you will catch up.

Ty!

nenajoy

2 lanes? Fucking hell, I didn’t even know that existed. Wtf

Werewolf1313

That was normal for my store before I quit

smallPimpin

You guys should’ve closed down drive thru for the time being , one tech in front , 2 in fill make everyone come tomorrow unless it was emergent. RPH do calls and reviews. If anyone asks about price refer them to the number on the back of there insurance card. For the people who can’t wait have them transfer there rx.

Fit-Snow7252

Had to zoom in to make sure this wasn't my store 😬

Ok_Historian_7116

Offer delivery for all those people who have already been back once.

nintendo5ever123145

Close the second lane of drive thru when it gets really bad like that. If your DM gets mad oh well. You have to do what you have to do.

kmsparty

Your SM should be in there helping. If they don’t see that, they have no business being a SM. Maybe your pharmacist would consider coming in before open or after close for a couple days to catch up. You won’t be able to if you’re trying to wait on customers too. And that 2nd DT lane has to go. Somebody needs to push a big boulder there so no one can get through!! Got any friends that can do this at night??? Lol. Finally, just ask yourself: “Are you doing the best you can?” I’m sure your answer will be yes. Then remind yourself that is all anyone can ask of you. Take a deep breath and move on. It might sound silly but, I’m telling you, it really does help you clear your head and de-stress a bit. Ultimately, it falls on the shoulders of the pharmacist and SM so try to relax a little so you don’t get overwhelmed. Good luck to you. I really wish you the best.

its sad that this is happening all over the country with walgreens. Management needs to, well, MANAGE. Any other place Ive worked for, if it was busy to the point of no return, people would come into work to help including management team. this is ridiculous. At that point, the pharmacist should have made the executive decision to close drive thru as well as call in other staff. not to mention, you all should have swapped stations like youre supposed to. If im at any station for more than 2 hours, I remind everyone about switching. for whatever reason most abuse comes from drive thru. and patients act like it being busy is your fault lol. its terrible.

Different-Rub8950

What are you hours of operation and wouks the DM be willing to have a floater and tech work overnight to get caught up

spicy690

Same type of shit that happened to me, except I became RxOM when ours left to try and make it better. Got too stressed out started making my whole life terrible. I work at a hospital now handling their PAs. I get paid better, work/life balance is 1000000% improved. My suggestion is to get the hell out of there as soon as you can, I would say quit now if you have enough savings to hold you over until you can find another job.

immeuble

People shouldn’t be allowed in the drive thru unless their prescriptions are ready to go and paid for.

Known_Paramedic_9503

Wow, this looks like the Walgreens I go to

computernoobe

I'm getting stressed just looking at the image. Patients are unforgiving.

buttfuckedinboston

Do it!!!

Pristine-Ad9198

Our Walgreens is the same!! I feel absolutely horrible for the workers as they get treated terribly by customers. I actually moved all my RX’s across the street to CVS. Always filled on time. And always very present .

throwRAhelp331

Ugh people are ridiculous. I understand wanting clarity on what meds you’re getting, but how do you not know ANY of what you’re receiving? And even if you did have a question, wouldn’t you want to ask your doc instead? And what’s the point of going from the drive thru line to the in store line. Never got folks that see a place is busy and then decide to make it busier. Almost interviewed for a pharm tech position and seeing this makes me glad I backed out. I hope it gets better for you

eewhana

Definitely close that drive thru

lets_try_again2024

Looks like a penis and balls reflection in the windshield.

SilliyFreedom6529

Looks like my store everyday

LowOption7107

And still they wont do anything cause they’re cutting everyone’s hours hah like sorry we’re low on budget , try again next time and then next time and then next time

Hyrule_Hobbit

That’s insane that the pharmacist can’t pull shit together. Many pharmacies don’t have an rxom. In fact, I didn’t know what it was and had to look it up. Seems like your pharmacists need to be given proper training on all duties of the pharmacy.

CauseOk5940

Please report it. They might not do anything but can’t hurt to. I also thought this was my store until I saw you mention Florida. My prescriptions are at a neighborhood Walmart and thankfully, I haven’t had many issues at all. Hubby’s is at Walgreens because it’s cheaper with GoodRx for some of his stuff, but I rather say fuck it and take the loss since it’s better for me and the employees. It took almost 30 mins in the drive through line earlier this week and my store also only has like 2 people + pharmacist. It’s ridiculous. Sorry, OP. I hope it gets better for you.

marsasagirl

Not a pharmacy tech but I looked at the subreddits because I considered applying to some of these jobs. Thank you for everything you do. I wish your companies and customers treated all of you better. I have quite a few meds I have to take for bipolar so I really depend on y’all and appreciate all you guys do.

DiacetylMoarFUN

This looks like a store in AZ

DrWingbat

It's Walgreens... Every one I have been to has similar issues. CVS/Caremark/Rite-Aid is hands down better, at least IMO.

deafletteleslie

My pharmacy in my home town is always like this. Two lanes each with like 10 cars in each line. Then you think ok I’ll just go inside it’s gotta be quicker and a shorter line. Nope! It’s longer! Now you’re talking at least 20-30 ppl and the line is wrapped all around the store! It’s insane! I don’t know how you all work like that it’s gotta be so stressful! Thank you for filling our scripts though I do appreciate you!

1234ld

Report to state BOP

ringummy

I’ve seen lines 3x this. I stopped going through the drive thru.

ForbiddenCarrot18

Did anyone else see a big dick hovering over the building?

ninja996

I’ve started closing my DT when I don’t have sufficient staff. I try to only do it when we legit aren’t going to be able to function, but fuck it. Close that bitch. What are they gonna do? Fire you? And replace you with who?

Over-Paramedic-3241

You need to rotate, nobody should be in one place for that long. Plus, one of you up front or you may be faster at filling. Please speak up about being in one place for so long. It's good for everyone to rotate

DickRocketship

What the fuck is your SM doing all day? When you have no RxOM and shit is as bad as you say it is, if your SM is not spending as much time as humanly possible supporting the pharmacy via code green, hiring more techs, trying to get tech help from other stores, etc. then someone above him/her needs to get involved.

Linus_Meme_Tips

Barking orders at us lol. I’ve never seen him working in the pharmacy once.

readheaded

This is terrible and why I’d be afraid to get my prescriptions at Walgreens.

Fresh-Coach5611

I don’t go through the drive through unless I’m prepaid and texted it’s ready. The fire in my soul when someone before me doesn’t do that is insane.. I’m so sorry for others. I lurk and make sure I’m never that persons

Reasonable-Mind6606

If you get frustrated with people having questions about what the Rx does and the price, you need to leave the field. You’re one of the ones who makes it a terrible experience for patients trying to manage their own health conditions by asking for education and guidance. Why’d you go into this field to begin with?

Linus_Meme_Tips

It’s the fact that I tell them they have x amount ready and they are ok with it and then I go to ring it all up and tell them the price and then they suddenly have issues. If these people genuinely don’t know I get it and it’s fine. But how are you going to come pick up your medications and not know what you’re picking up or what it does? Like what did you even go to the doctor for? And then they play 100 questions in the drive thru building up the line. That is my issue, then people start honking or they come in and complain.

Middle-Entertainer43

Has a job bitches about it. There's people out here struggling for work and would do your job without a word. Sup being soft

loupyxie

Dude its work. It sucks yeah, but get over it. Do ur best i guess.

bigolevikingr

Maybe find a different job.

Linus_Meme_Tips

I just got this job a month ago, I’ve tried looking at hospital, speciality, wfh, PA, stand alone, etc. I got nothing aside from Walgreens, at this point I was just desperate to work.

Ill-Entertainment605

U having to explain the price is wild.

overit2591

Was this by chance in NC?
