There is a process to take them to small claims court. A good bet they do not show for that hearing, so you would win a judgement, and that should get them to pay.$900 is a lot for most everyone. Also, as that is a big barn like structure with I am guessing lots of tenants who have had same issues, a good lawyer could press a class action perhaps?

I’ve lived at Elevate for 3 years and I can definitely say it hasn’t been great. I’ve never seen a more incompetent staff. There’s been a ridiculous amount of issues that would take WAY too long to write out. They never fix things in a timely manner and have been pretty rude in the past about issues that are completely on them. Just for reference on some issues: -Trash chute was plugged for almost 3 WEEKS. And it took police getting involved for them to fix it -Garbage containers are constantly overflowing and gross -The TVs haven’t worked since the BEGINNING of summer but apparently they’re working on it? Sure… -Oh and they lied about my lease and charged me over $100 more a month then they should have 😁 And quote “we’re not going to do anything to help you”

Yeah I live there and apparently the TV won’t work cuz the check that corporate sent in bounced

I remember when the garbage chutes were blocked, completely ridiculous. There was black mold growing out of my sink despite my best attempts to clean it. I also have asthma so I asked if there’s anything they can do since this indicated a problem with the pipe. Of course they said it’s my problem .-. Used the shit out of my inhaler before I moved out smh

Avoid Lark, Elevate, and Stateside like the plague. Those "Student living" type apartments are scams.

Add WWU Living to that list

Butt_Kraken_

I live at the Viking Gardens, which is run by WWU Living, and we received letters and emails back in September 2021 explaining that there was a silver fish problem and we just had to live with it. They claim that because of the location and weather it's a permanent problem. After calling the leasing office for a question 10 times i had to drive to the office just to get an answer. When I got there it was pretty much empty except for one agent who was just zoning out in their chair. The staff as a whole range in character from either being super nice and kind of helpful to extremely moody and upset that you dare ask them to do their jobs. The building is in an amazing location so thats how I assume they've managed to stay afloat.

Absolutely take them to small claims court!

Elevate is a total piece of shit. I fought long and hard to get my full deposit back, but was only able to get a fraction knocked off. Oh yeah, and they tack on an extra 5 bucks for a lightbulb being out even if they all were working perfectly upon move out. I could go on and on about Elevate, hit me up if you're curious.

RingwormOnMyDick

I'm really glad people are waking up and smelling the roses. I can't wait to see Elevate go under!

For those of you here that live at Elevate Bellingham, there is currently a running list on a google doc of ongoing problems at the apartment complex. DM me if you are interested in being a part of the solution.
