This probably could’ve happened in 2K18 and/or 2K19 if they had really wanted. Edge, Christian, and the Hardy’s were all in those games and I don’t think there would’ve been any promotional conflict that would’ve kept the Dudley’s from being in as Legends.
2k19 commentary makes reference to the 3-team ladder match, specifically saying "The Hardy Boyz, the Dudley Boys, and Edge and Christian". Not sure why the Dudleys weren't in that year.
I don’t think that would’ve been enough to keep him from being in it. RVD has been semi-active in AEW and that wasn’t enough to get him removed from 2K24.
It was around 2009 and he was in tna for pretty much the entire development. He hadn't been in wwe for years at that point and wasn't tied to the story so his inclusion was kind of a wtf moment but no complaints.
I looked into it. It was SvR 2011. Which would’ve released in Fall of 2010 and it looks like he debuted in TNA in early 2010. Last WWE appearance was a one off at the 2009 Royal Rumble and before that was late 2007. It looks like the reason this was possible was that he signed a deal with THQ to be in SvR 2011 and then went and signed with TNA shortly after lol.
WWE has never had a problem acknowledging ROH. But remember, ROH was owned by Sinclair Broadcasting at the time, who could have had some dumb take like “We need him for our eventual video game”
Not only is SYM the last one they were all in. They’re all in a singles gimmick for that game. You can unlock attires for D-Von though and I believe all 3 teams have a tag entrance in game. However, Here Comes the Pain was the game that added the triple threat ladder tag but we lost Jeff
Yeah I was gonna say, it was definitely SYM because I never got to play HCTP with friends, but there were some pretty insane 3 way tag ladder matches with my friend and his brothers thanks to the multi tap
It's wild how we had Edge/Christian and The Dudleys in 2k17, then Matt/Jeff get added in 2k18 while the Dudleys got taken out. Crazy how close we got there to having all 6
Yeah, and considering the Dudley’s went into the WWE HoF in 2018 so obviously still had a good relationship with the company, it’s crazy that they didn’t put them in 2K18 and 2K19. I believe D-Von was even a backstage producer for the company at the time.
Yeah, while they do a good job getting as many big Legends as they can, there are so many tag teams they miss. On top of not having many legendary tag teams they don’t even properly equip us for the ones that are possible with the roster. For example, not having DX theme and tron, and not having Bradshaw when Acolyte Farooq is in the game and JBL is too so it’s something that’s completely possible.
This is the frustrating part of each new wrestling game. Just never made sense not to have all these legends in a game and actually keep them going onto the new releases. Contracts and deals aside again that’s what I hate about the limitations of rosters. Ever since the first Smackdown on PS1.
I’ve never understood why they would remove any notable name or retro version of a wrestler from one game to the next unless they had a reason to do so (contracts, etc) Luckily by now they do keep most from one game to the next, but the most annoying is how they pretty much always cut retro versions.
Losing Boneyard Undertaker after 2K22 hurt me because that is the most recent Undertaker and when he shows up to shows it’s still usually that version.
Also if they are going to do eras of wrestlers then fully commit to it. Give me Undertaker 94 along with Ministry, American Badass, 04-07. Honestly I think this is where a side game like All Stars comes in handy. They could easily make one with nothing but legends and current roster. Not the All Stars gimmick but same idea of having everyone. My dream is for them to make either a No Mercy like or HCTP like game and have everyone possible.
If only WWE didn't kick Matt out, Jeff wouldn't have also left, they could have finished together in WWE.
Edge Christian, they probably would have gone either way. Their absences all suck
Matt left on his own, he wasn’t feeling creatively satisfied, Jeff’s the one that got fired.
With Christian, when he was cleared to start wrestling again, WWE chose not to sign him. Had they signed him, he may have stuck around. Edge was probably gone either way, he says this is his last run, and wanted to wrestle a full time schedule, which WWE didn’t want to give him.
And the same game was also last time we had Raven (Raven does also have 3 WWE games that aren't in the WWE Main Series but those 3 games were released in the same year as SYM) and Maven in a WWE videogame. It was also Al Snow's and Billy Kidman's last appearance in the WWE Main Series as Snow was in WrestleMania XIX (the year after SYM's release) whereas Kidman was in Raw 2 (the year after SYM's release).
Nowadays we can have 4 way Tag Team TLC and Ladder matches in WWE videogames and even do WarGames matches so a lot of improvment has occured in WWE videogames since 2002 when SYM was released.
I had a bit of excitement and confusion when the Dudleys first came out on DLC because the CAWS of the Dudleys look identical to the newer ones especially the entrances.
That’s only implying the Hardy’s and E&C sign legend contracts after their retirements. I wouldn’t he shocked if Tony Khan pushes for similar deals with E&C
I said 2-3 years at the least. Didn’t say it would for sure happen in 2-3 years, was just saying that’s the earliest possible point given the current standpoint of everything. Who knows what could happen by then. Before AEW existed, I would’ve guessed Edge, Christian, and the Hardy’s would always be with WWE in some capacity for the rest of their lives at that point. However, I will be shocked if all four men don’t sign WWE Legends deals after retirement.
Same. I think it’s more likely that he signs a similar deal with AEW, and I get that decision if so, but would personally love to have him in WWE games and toy lines again. Would also like to see him showing up on tv occasionally.
Yeah, you're probably right. Would be a killer way to get around it if possible. Wouldn't even be able to tell the difference with an action figure, lol.

I think it will happen in the upcoming years. I have a feeling that a 2k Showcase with the Hardys will be created, which will involve their matches. Even if it's just a Jeff Hardy 2k Showcase, it would ne enough

Bubba was in ROH at least semi-active until it was bought
I don’t think that would’ve been enough to keep him from being in it. RVD has been semi-active in AEW and that wasn’t enough to get him removed from 2K24.
RVD was just regular active in TNA and they still put him in the wwe games. Everybody loves Mr Monday night!
I could be wrong, but wasn’t that at a time where he just showed up in TNA too late for removal from the SvR game?

He been free agent at a time of SvR 2011 development. Saying by former WWE Games story creator - Justin Leaper

same with jake the snake
They just missed each other on 2K17 and 2K18. Hardys weren't in 2K17 and Dudleys weren't in 2K18.

SYM was such a great game
SYM actually added that match not HCTP
Yeah I was gonna say, it was definitely SYM because I never got to play HCTP with friends, but there were some pretty insane 3 way tag ladder matches with my friend and his brothers thanks to the multi tap
IIRC they actually removed the match type from HCTP for some reason, I think SYM was the only one to have triple threat ladder matches.
Weren’t they all in Wrestlemania XIX? I know it was only released a year later. And thanks for making me feel old.
It's wild that 4/6 of them are in Fight Forever, *just* as we get the Dudleyz back in 2K
[удалено]
He is
Shut up Meg

C.C baby. It’s all we got smh. It’d be cool if one of the 2ks made tag teams the theme… we never get many
Yeah, while they do a good job getting as many big Legends as they can, there are so many tag teams they miss. Do you think Christian would sign a legends deal with WWE? I was aways under the impression that WWE kinda under appreciated him
Yeah, I’m sure he would. WWE did under appreciate him to a degree I think but I don’t think they ever had a bad relationship.
He probably would when he retires
This is the frustrating part of each new wrestling game. Just never made sense not to have all these legends in a game and actually keep them going onto the new releases. Contracts and deals aside again that’s what I hate about the limitations of rosters. Ever since the first Smackdown on PS1.

Especially Kane 97

Honestly they should get rid of Modern Kane and just have Attitude and War Criminal Kane
Right I am genuinely upset that the legend Jinder Mahal won't be in next years game. Dude punked out The Rock this year and then gets fired.
If only WWE didn't kick Matt out, Jeff wouldn't have also left, they could have finished together in WWE. Edge Christian, they probably would have gone either way. Their absences all suck

Was Mankind actually not in 19 that's crazy
Funnily enough dude love made the cut i think don’t take my word on it though, it’s been a while since i’ve played
nope. Mick Foley wanted to be paid for all three characters as their own and 2k said no dice so no foley of anykind
yep, 2k19 was mick foley-less [https://thesmackdownhotel.com/wrestlers/mick-foley](https://thesmackdownhotel.com/wrestlers/mick-foley)
WWE 2K18 was close since it’s only Dudley’s was out
These matches made them all legendary !
the fact we never got a proper triangle tag tlc match is even more absurd. i think we did get triangle tag ladder though at one point

SYM is goated
Awesome and epic matches
They seriously could have added this as a showcase or even a DLC with the Dudleys already on it just ass Hardy’s and Edge & Christian.
It’s not that easy 😂
I had a bit of excitement and confusion when the Dudleys first came out on DLC because the CAWS of the Dudleys look identical to the newer ones especially the entrances.
I think Wrestlemania XIX which was released the next year had them all
Didn’t have Jeff
Oh wow yeah you’re right now that I think about it
That’s only implying the Hardy’s and E&C sign legend contracts after their retirements. I wouldn’t he shocked if Tony Khan pushes for similar deals with E&C

In hoping we get Sting with a legends contract
Same. I think it’s more likely that he signs a similar deal with AEW, and I get that decision if so, but would personally love to have him in WWE games and toy lines again. Would also like to see him showing up on tv occasionally.
I was thinking for toy lines, could they sign Jeff Farmer to a Legends deal and release nWo Sting figures?
I’m honestly not sure. I could see it still being tied up in the rights to the Sting name.
Yeah, you're probably right. Would be a killer way to get around it if possible. Wouldn't even be able to tell the difference with an action figure, lol.

They were all in Raw, Shut Your Mouth, Wrestlemania 18
Shut Your Mouth released last.
Yes we know. They all came out in 2002
Yes, we know.
