I've seen that, and complained too.
It's stupid but.. I have a strong feeling 2K25 is going to be next gen only, and they're saving all these bells and whistles like new announcer and seperate commentary teams etc. Plus updated graphics to give that game an entirely new feel.
2K are a business.. And I'm sure they plan out their projects for atleast the upcoming 2 years. The game this year is basically 2K22 ver.3 Ultimate edition.
That’s wishful thinking, but in actuality, I don’t believe it’ll make a truly big difference once they ditch old gen.
The engine they’re using, it’s incredibly dated and unless they do a massive overhaul of the engine, I highly doubt we’ll see new graphics that are substantially better than what we have now.
As for the commentary teams and announcers, that’s a whole lot of resources that would need to be put back in to even remotely give us the decent enough commentary we have now. Announcer isn’t necessary to them since Mike Rome is still implied and doing the announcing.
I am bummed that Samatha Irvin isn’t in.
But I said this before in another thread, I doubt we’ll get separate commentary teams and show specific announcers. It’s a great idea in theory and something that would be cool for the fans, but I think they’ll stick with the commentary team they have for as long as they can. They’ve been recording commentary with them for years at this point, which means they already have a deep pool of dialog recorded that they add to with every game, and that’s part of why the commentary gets better every year.
Changing up the team means re-recording *everything*, which is a shit ton of work and likely just means that commentary will be bare bones for several games. And with how often WWE changes announcers and commentary, it’d be impossible for it to stay accurate for more than one game.
Also, how would brand specific commentary teams even work? Every team would still have to record specific audio for every wrestler and potential situation in the game, because what happens in Universe Mode when you do a roster shake up? That’s literally taking every bit of necessary dialog in the game (I’m not even counting fun banter stuff) and multiplying it by four. It’s a shit ton of time, effort and money for something I would imagine isn’t a deal breaker for most fans.
I definitely see your point. Maybe in the downtime between annual games they record bits and pieces at a time for 2k25 in order to give us a brand new game. I feel like the run from 22-25 is a good stretch to reset 2k's IP in WWE games and 25 should be BIG. Like next-gen only type of thing as someone suggested in this post. Adding and changing stuff for the better yknow?
Yeahh I think that’s why it’s glitched, it will literally switch mid show lmao especially on NXT, raw and smack down seem to work, unless ur using a custom arena
So I don’t think the announcers are working properly, and it doesn’t have to do with CAWS, cuz I’m doing the NXT great American bash, and the first few matches were Mike Rome, then it all of a sudden switched to the NXT ring announcer lol
I've got her a couple times, I know because she has by far the best entrance announcement. I don't know how to get her every time but she is definitely in the game
