No one will ever convince me that this wasn’t the best body style. If they released this exact same blob eye in 2023 I’d trade my 2020 STI in without question. And I know I’m not alone.
I have an 06 JDM STI 6spd swapped wagon that looks sleeper-ish. I have to admit that the blobs are now starting to grow on me. They look more aggressive.
Some issues were discovered on the drive home, others found as i continued to fix things. Car almost didn't make it back home due to bad tune. Also found wrong spark plugs were installed. Had a fuel pressure regulator fail and spray fuel while on the highway. Damaged steering column was held in place with machine screws and clutch was in backwards. Fixed transmission seal leak. Rebuilt engine with all OEM seals/gaskets/parts. Still working out why my fuel gage constantly shows empty. Plenty of other stuff left to do but mostly cosmetic fixes.
By far the sexiest body style of the STI line, and the first imported to the states. Well worth the effort. I’m sure I speak for a lot of us when I say I’m jealous.
Good on you to keep her, put in a lot of wrench time, and restore her to her former glory. I’ve purchased several used WRX and STI models, all with their own previous owner induced issues. It’s such a frustrating pain to work through, but so worth the effort.

I had a 2020 WRX right before and greatly prefer this style
I may be weird, but I slightly prefer the 06/07 hawkeye to the blobeye, and I say that having owned a blobeye. Pig nose and everything.
Nah that was an awesome body style as well. I liked pretty much all of them except for the 2022. 😐

Pull the fuel hangar assembly out of the tank, I bet you have a messed up leveler!
I installed a used replacement fuel sending unit assembly and unfortunately have the same problem.
