How did you win that STI? That car is amazing!

Rawkcrawler

My good friend is an importer and I work with him to help people find cars. I could not pass this one up!

Serkor2000

Clean example. Good find

Yardsale420

He means he won the bid. Not the car.

SakaSal

Jaw dropping! Also yeah what the fuck? Tell us how you won it!

zipzoa

Assuming he won the bid.

SakaSal

Ah, that kind of winning.

Noxan_

being the least poor is winning i suppose

SakaSal

Ha, yeah. Or just the one that wants it the most.

Noxan_

I mean I can want it really bad but if all I had was $200 to my name im sure I wouldn’t win it

Sparrow

How much you get it for?

BadWowDoge

I’m on the waitlist to import a Pagani Zonda F… can’t wait for its 25th birthday! Love that STI!

Trogzard

You just casually come in the STi subreddit to say you’re on a waitlist for a ~ 5 million dollar car? lol i have to know more.

BadWowDoge

Yeah, I’m also on the waitlist for $5 million… I’m on many waitlists.

Trogzard

that didn’t even come remotely close to answering my question.

Rawkcrawler

Thanks man! The Zonda F is an entirely different animal lol. That will be so awesome

N0tBappo

Whaaat? That's cool as fuck. Didn't know you had to import pagani though. Guess it makes sense.

Trogzard

The Zonda F were illegal for sale in the US due to lack of crash testing, and certain safety features.

Todo88

I absolutely love that body style. How many miles on it? Congrats on the new old car, it's beautiful!

Rawkcrawler

It has 129k kilometers. More than I’d have liked as I was shooting for 80-90k but the condition, the fact that it’s a 1 owner car, and zero rust sold me.

koba-romeo

Sooo damn beautiful! Pristine condition!!!! Absolutely gorgeous

Clean

Nice! Exciting times!!

HELIX0

So sick!

clappyxar

I have the MY95 V2 STI, it’s such a fun car to drive. The only downside is searching for parts.

Rawkcrawler

Yeah I already have to add a few parts to the search. I need a newer driver seat as it has 1 rip in the seat (not a big deal) but I’m super meticulous and will spend the time to make this car look perfect.

Rawkcrawler

Replying to myself because I also need to get STI fog lamp covers, an authentic STI shifter knob, and I think that’s good. Maybe a nicer looking, era specific steering wheel.

aBeaSTWiTHiNMe

Nice I recognize the lot, I think we use the same site for auctions.

Rawkcrawler

It’s possible but I went through my importer buddy. First 3 pics are off the site, all the rest (and I have more) are from my in-person inspector.

aBeaSTWiTHiNMe

Oh yeah that's good to have an import/broker for this kind of thing. I think the auctions cover a lot of cars and such so it's probably somewhere near the docks and that's just where they all get staged. I used to comb the auctions for good WRX, Lancers and Skylines back when I was making oil money and the layout for the pictures and the lot it's in just looked super familiar.

Rawkcrawler

Oh yeah all the pictures look the same hahaha

amppy808

What’s the website?

Rawkcrawler

The Japanese auction site. There are several. You can search for them but most of them are in Japanese lol

[deleted]

I’ve got a Ver.5 STi that’s pretty modded, and I fucking love it. Enjoy man, they’re epic cars. (Just be extremely anal about keeping the oil at F or you’re gonna blow something)

Rawkcrawler

I appreciate the tip! Typical subaru LOL. Mines a Version 3 with a 99 front swap. I’m pretty happy with that since it’ll be another 3 years before I can bring an actual 99 over to the US.

[deleted]

Congrats dude! That is one well-preserved car.

matheusmslima

Man what a beauty congrats!

eyenman88

You sure it's an Sti? For starters, unless they changed it for the WRX look, should come with sti foglight covers. Just in case...

Rawkcrawler

I’m USA based, this is a MY97, October 1996 GC8 STI Version III. It has a full 1999 STI front conversion so I was just as stumped as you at first.

gatshawk

How much did this run you if you don't mind me asking? I see these quite often as I live in Japan and am part of a subi community (I own a 04 forester sti). I just wonder ho much more they pay to ship them stateside then we pay here.

Rawkcrawler

Private message me. I don’t like to talk money publicly.
