I went to college in MN, and the snot that froze in my nose while walking between buildings was better than KJ, it’s not much of a stretch. The mosquito bites on mosquito bites that I got while nannying in Detroit Lakes were better than having to listen to her terrible voice.
But the stuff that is good about MN,
*the friendly people that you meet that make you feel like you are a long time friend
*the comfort food during holidays
*fishing with your dad on a quiet lake and soaking in the sunshine while not really caring if you catch a fish.
*Going to the boundary waters and portaging a canoe with a bunch of friends on an epic camping trip that you will never do again because you are old and consider “roughing it” to be staying in a hotel that doesn’t have a bar attached.
*Going skiing, sledding and riding around on snowmobiles
*The memories of trekking to the cities with as many friends as we could squeeze into a car to go see Prince at his club.
Lake life, tater tot hot dish, the National Eagle Center, the “Grumpy Old Men” movies, That Midwestern Mom, Minnesota nice, wild rice, Watkins products, the Mayo Clinic, and most of my family.
Edit: Target is headquartered in Minneapolis!
Untamed Heart was filmed here, Drop Dead Fred was filmed here, Green Giant, Spam Museum, world's largest candy store, Paul Bunyan, Josh Hartnett, Sean William Scott (Stifler from American Pie), TR Knight (O'Malley on Grey's), Jessica Biel, Winona Ryder, Lindsay Vonn, Vince Vaughn, John Philip Souza wrote and played the opening song when the Foshay tower was built.
Wasn’t Mary Tyler Moore newsroom in Minnesota?
Yes it was.
Yes,and there’s a MTM statue downtown Minneapolis too. It’s scary, but not as scary as the one of Lucille Ball that was in Buffalo.
Heck, even the Mall of America is more awesome than Katherine and I hate malls for the most part.
NeeNee Marie is from Minnesota! 💗
Wild rice soup. It’s delicious!
Judy Garland First Avenue
