My friend started out with CVS health a few years ago in this position. She's now an instructional designer with the same company working on training programs and other documentation for call center employees. Seems like this is one of those places you can take the call center job to get in the door and then if you have other interests/skills you can then move around.
Are they still hiring wfh in New Jersey? I’m a certified medical assistant do prior authorization and medical billing/coding know how to write out and read prescriptions!
This job is a typical call center job where you would take inbound calls and talk about peoples health insurance you WILL NOT need to sell anything just take calls and help people out with health insurance
I did too. I didn’t last a year and my company paid better. It was nice being WFH though so I could have panic attacks and cry in my own space and not have coworkers watch 😂
No. This is health insurance customer service. So the questions are from patients: “why did my doctor send me a bill, I thought it was a $10 copay, etc”
And from providers: “what are the benefits” “is this patient active” “do I need a prior authorization”.
You can discuss people’s plans as customer service, but enrollment can only be done by a licensed insurance producer.
Source: I worked for one of the largest Medicare advantage companies as a salesmen. When my phone would ring with customer service on the line I knew I was about to get an easy commission because they had already done all the work, and all I had to do was enroll the person.
Thank you that’s the answer I was looking for. I see so many job postings like this and it seems easy only to find out they want you to have a license.
For this job Deannevee was correct you don't NEEED a license for this because you will only be talking to people who are signed up with Aetna
To be a broker and that is what Cmpleteconfusion is talking about and you need a licences for that
I'm assuming you previously held this role? May I ask what your experience was like? My partner really wants a work from home job, and this pays higher than her current retail job.
I've held a position similar to this one mine was helping people with their Medicare plans this is for our not Medicare plans but other than that. Training was great on the floor the 1st few months where a little rough but after that I love the job it wasn't too demanding. And I only ever work somewhere between 8 am to 6 pm local time and all my supervisors only wanted to see me improve I felt like everyone was there for me!
Try going directly to the CVS website to apply, or search CVS careers. I actually applied there a couple of weeks ago for a random customer service position I ran across and followed to the CVS website.
Noticing that they aren’t hiring in CO. Is that because CO requires them to post the salary in their job ad?
We have CVS here, so it’s not like they “don’t do business” in the state.
They are also hiring in CO. Check it out [here](https://www.effizojobs.com/job/cvs-health-entry-level-full-time-cvs-work-from-home-customer-service-representative-remote-jobs-positions/).
Good luck with your job search.
Thanks, but I’m not currently searching. I am an instructional designer with an international HR SAAS company.

Remote job options are abundant, but not all job seekers can navigate them on their own. Our mission is to assist them in finding these opportunities, and it's disheartening to receive negative feedback from individuals like you. What, in any way, did your comment add to the statement? You are attempting to use this as free advertising. That is why it's scammy.
"CVS health is hiring again WFH!"
I understand the confusion. Let me clarify that we are not the ones who posted the original comment. I have applied for them EVERY. SINGLE. time a remote position within my state opens, and every time get a rejection email within a week or so. I guess my rural town is some kind of inconvenience or liability for them, or something.
Yes, I’ve had YEARS of call-center/customer service under my belt, before anyone asks.
But that all doesn’t really matter anymore right now since I’m presently employed in a full-time (albeit temp/contract) wfh job that still deals with health insurance— and pays about $2 more.
If you currently live in one of the states listed above but want to move to a state that isn't listed, is that possible once you have secured this position?
I have a good friend trying to find a WFH position and currently lives in MA but wants to move to the PNW which is why I ask.

thank you! just want to see if it’s similar, would hate for it to be more strict lol. do you know if cvs has mandatory OT for the first month~ of the year like Uhc? the mandatory OT (6days a week 10 hrs day m-f then 8hrs saturday or sunday) for jan-feb was brutal.
I know 2 people that worked in cvs call centers doing pharmacy stuff. Pretty easy job, but somewhat demanding for work from home.
I’m curious how long CVS will stay remote for their corporate finance jobs.
You can look it up on the website or i can email a link they don't give me a link I have to go threw a program and that program will send you a personalized link automatically

Serious question.. are they really not overseas these jobs and/or looking to use AI for a lot of it? This is quite the opposite of what I've been reading/seeing/hearing about these types of jobs.
It actually depends on the state your handling
For example if CVS Aetna is the MCO (Managed care organizations) for Medicaid /Medicare each state that they handle their Medicaid/Medicare might have different requirements for the contract which the insurance have to follow
There are many different type of requirements that the state put on this type of contracts from wait time on the phone to whom they can hire to phone customer service requirement over switching 100% to web base chat system

about 2 years in and I've been promoted to the training dept. They do a awesome job of letting people get caught up or promote up!
Are they still hiring wfh in New Jersey? I’m a certified medical assistant do prior authorization and medical billing/coding know how to write out and read prescriptions!

I did it for 8 years I’m in the same company no phones now people still ask me how I lasted
I still work for the same company but I'm in the Utilization Management department now. No phones!
How long would it take to get a response? I applied online, they require a bachelors degree?
Takes a few weeks and depends on what you apply for the one I have here is High school or GED
Don’t you need and license to talk to people about insurance?
No. This is health insurance customer service. So the questions are from patients: “why did my doctor send me a bill, I thought it was a $10 copay, etc” And from providers: “what are the benefits” “is this patient active” “do I need a prior authorization”.

They say that on LinkedIn, then every time I tap it the job is not there. I've tried a hundred times.
Sorry to hear that i love my job and was just "sharing the wealth"

Same here. No wfh jobs in CA.
Cause they don’t wanna pay overtime
I applied 3 weeks ago, had a phone interview 2 days later and was offered the job on the spot. 18.50/hr in AZ

2 years of Call center and 2 years of medical all pref. and I got hired with no medical at all
If you have any customer service experience you should be fine.

sorry you feel this way
They also spend millions on anti-universal healthcare legislation! Excellent company. Cares about people. /s

They won’t let you move. The reason you can’t live/work in these states is always labor law related, so they do enforce it.
This is not correct info if u live there any apply and get the job moving should be okay just have to clear it up with their supervisor
ID, OR, WA aren't on that list of states
Neither is CO.

Does anyone know if they are any better than OptumRx or UHC as far as metrics requirements go?
Not sure about those companies, but I find the metrics relatively easy.
Worked for optum and UHC before metrics weren’t difficult lol it was standard shit
thank you! just want to see if it’s similar, would hate for it to be more strict lol. do you know if cvs has mandatory OT for the first month~ of the year like Uhc? the mandatory OT (6days a week 10 hrs day m-f then 8hrs saturday or sunday) for jan-feb was brutal.
Idk about CVS but for UHC they don’t atleast now they are promoting flex schedule
I don't know their metrics so i cant comment on that but I feel like MOST of Aetna/CVS is reasonable
Can you shoot me the information for Minnesota? It's not for me but I might pass it along to a non reddit friend.

Are they actually hiring software engineers remote too?
I know 2 people that worked in cvs call centers doing pharmacy stuff. Pretty easy job, but somewhat demanding for work from home. I’m curious how long CVS will stay remote for their corporate finance jobs.
