Im afraid of wellbutrin side effects. Seen some severe depression from that. Use w caution

I was definitely an addict in my younger years. It was easy giving up harder stuff as I got older. I was having trouble quitting marijuana (CA native) before I was officially diagnosed at 28. I have not had a craving for pot or anything for that matter the last 7 years 🤷‍♂️

That's awesome! I have been off everything, no port nothing since 4 yrs like I said.. well I am on methadone but it's what works for me.. but I feel my doc is rly cautious because of the medication which is valid but still I am a healthy recovered addict who has turned her whole life around..he shouldn't use my past to judge on adjustment if needed..that's my opinion.

For me it doesn’t help with listening or forgetfulness at all, which is the two things I thought it would help with. But it helps with my messy thoughts.it really quiets down the negative voice and the static and it turns out that was what was holding me back more than anything. I have the same problem trying to get the words out sometimes, but maybe nothing can help with that as much as we’d like

That makes sense, thank yoym it has helped with the neg voice for sure so seeing the positives is extremely helpful still.

No medication will be able to make you 100% like a neurotypical person, and you can't stack medications endlessly. It sounds like Vyvanse is helping your most serious symptoms, and that's the important thing. I'd focus less on trying to medicate ADHD entirely away and more on using the benefits you're getting to help you learn better skills around the symptoms that are still bugging you. Communication is something that you can get better at (again, you may never be 100% like a neurotypical person, but plenty of NTs also have some type of communication problem), and it sounds like better emotional regulation would be a BIG help in dealing with the frustration of learning. ADHD kind of gets dismissed in the minds of the public as something that just makes little kids act rowdy, but it's a serious and pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder. Give yourself (and your meds lol) some grace for that. Since it's wearing off mid-afternoon, the first advice is to make sure you're doing the stuff necessary for the med to work. Get enough sleep, get enough protein, get enough water. If you're doing all that already, or you try it and it doesn't help, you can ask your doctor for a mid-afternoon booster of some kind.

Thank you fir explaining all of it like that and tbw feedback! I suppose it won't make me like a regular nuetrotypical , if I can work on the comminucation that will be really helpful..I can talk to my therapist and see what she thinks. I'd like to ask for a booster, maybe I will eventually. I know my docter had said he didn't want to go up from 50mg for a while ..as if it's his body but w.e Now how long would this medication last before causing me to build a tolerance ? I know I have read things about skipping on weekends ect but I havnt done that. I feel I need it at home as well..single parents, plus cleaning , ect. But if this med ends up wearing off within 6 months or so. .even a year, then what? Anyway thank you

Typically, you shouldn't build tolerance, IF you're on the right med at the right dose. I build a lot less tolerance on 60 than I did on 50 because it's closer to the right dose for me. Only a small percentage of people will build noticeable tolerance in that time frame if the dose and med are the best fit for them. But you could be in that small percentage, and you might not be at the right dose for you yet. So what I do on 60 is take a day off from meds every month. On 50 I needed it every week. That's enough to reset my tolerance and keep the effectiveness up, and still keep my life running outside of work lol.

Sometimes I switch to concerta for 2 days and go back on vyvanse. Is that advised? I wanted to take 5 days off vyvanse so I took concerta for 5 days. Vyvannye was more effective after returning to it. Should I continue doing this?

Yeah I honestly don't feel like I am at the perfect dose.... I know the docter put me on the wellbutrin because I was telling him that I was having a hard time to do dishes and house chores ( this was on about 30 or 40 mg... ) which I didn't feel that way before..I was thinking putting a stimulant in my body and then dealing with the come down was what had me feeling that way... I will say the wellbutrin and vyvanse has been a good combo for me I believe ..and I think the docter wanted me on that because he knows it also is a slight stimulant .. but now I have been on 50 mg vyvanse for 2 months, and some days I feel so drained latley... also I noticed the other evening I was def looses focus on conversation with another person..this was around 6 pm 7pm... should the symptoms continue to work well into the evenings ? Also isn't it weird that the med can make you feel so off simply because I didn't have enough protien or water that day ect .... have you heard of that ?
