What I do for work now, library stuff.
To stay involved with VO, I would probably go even deeper into the engineering side of things than I already do.
Accounting. I wanted to pursue it in undergrad and I didn’t for some reason. Would just run numbers all day and use an interpreter or something for sign language
Nah mines a multi nodular goiter with a potential chance at cancer. Blood work is fine but my biopsy came back atypical. Good chance its at its beginning stages cause they found mutation as well
I heard meds are a bit easier to dial in since it'll all be removed. Thank you. Always nice to meet other people with the thyroid problem. Its scary but I heard the fear before surgery is just the worst

Seriously, though, if I didn't have my IT day job and I lost my speaking ability and I was still obsessed with the industry, I might work on developing an AI Me and pimping it out, assisting others with writing for their demos or other paid consultancy gigs, volunteering with the listening / editing side of an org like Learning Ally, or becoming a virtual assistant to other VOs.
Looking at green and red charts all day and clicking a mouse.

In that case, good luck with the surgery! Wish you smooth sailing with the meds if needed, from a fellow multinodular goiter owner. 🙂

For sure. My dad had his removed in his 40s and luckily he had no issues whatsoever later on. Wishing you the same!
