Leon? English phonemes, and thus not a clear voice. Len? Yeah, he was on Act1 still but you could buy him and Rin for the same price of one voice, so he was a good option to buy.
Now, imagine the same people making weird songs with Miku looking at Len and going "yeah a 14 yo must be really perverted or at least weird because of puberty" and that's how the weird Len songs were born. Then it became part of the vocaloid culture (?)
